I had/have a stutter. I largely outgrew it in high school (middle school was torture and my writing style and ability largely started there since I couldn't express myself verbally), but it never fully goes away. I've learned to quickly change words if I find myself stuck trying to articulate one, but still happens to this day. Especially when I'm really stressed or nervous. Biden does the same thing.
It's interesting you mentioned the writing. My son writes constantly, and it's a way to get around the speaking issues he encounters. Our speech therapist didn't touch on this much, but we always suspected it was related. Speech pattern problems can also be linked to eating habits, and he is a very picky eater.
For me with that knowledge and maybe yours as well, the first debate was pure torture to watch. Not just because of what Trump was doing, but because you could tell Biden just couldn't counter quickly enough in part because of his issue. I'm not sure if you did (do) this, but it's also why Biden often goes to a repeated phrase like "Here's the deal" or "Look" before saying what he wants to say. It gives him that extra moment to focus.

Fair or not, I think the stammering really hurts Biden.
Hillary "won" all her debates with Trump. And she pretty much did, imo. I actually thought Trump did better tonight than he did back then, too.
I think you probably know this, but he is a stutterer.
My son has a speech impediment and spent many years in special speech classes because of it. Took the short yellow bus and everything. You’ll get no agreement from me. My son will never outgrow it, just like Biden. It’ll be with him until the day he dies. It’s extremely tough and makes public speaking pretty much the worst thing in the world for my son. I admire Biden for fighting through it.

My focus group’s words to describe Trump tonight:
• “Controlled”
• “Reserved”
• “Poised”
• “Con artist”
• “Surprisingly presidential”Words to describe Biden tonight:
• “Vague”
• “Unspecific”
• “Elusive”
• “Defensive”
• “Grandfatherly”
Trump’s seem spot-on considering expectations, but Biden’s are weird. Unspecific? He has details for days. Elusive? He actually answered most of the questions. Grandfatherly? Accurate.
Again, poll results are surprising me. Quick poll of watchers for CNN gave Biden the clear win. I thought it was even. I thought Pence won the VP debate, but the majority was with Harris.

It wasn’t a game-changer, but considering expectations were as low as can be for him, does Trump get a bump?
Or, on the other hand, considering we keep hearing Biden can’t put together a complete sentence or has no stamina, does he get credit for doing three live events fairly easily?
Or is it just too late and have too many people voted already for it to make a difference?

I’ll give Trump credit. He did not melt down.

I can’t call a winner or a loser. We’ll see if Trump fucks up in the last 5.
This is probably one of the most even debates I’ve ever seen. Both had high points. Both had bad patches.

This is gonna be the line that is remembered. WTF is Trump taking about. He lives in a different world.
Their parents use coyotes. One report said 30% of children were being used by non-relatives to gain access. If the 525 parents aren’t found, it’s because they don’t want to be. Any police station, any consulate, any government official would be able to put the parent in contact with ICE to recover their child. If your kid was in Canada, would you stop trying to reach the Canadian government to get your kid?
He lost me, clearly. And I think that probably went over the heads of most people watching.

The immigration segment was a disaster for Trump.
I don’t know the moderator. She’s doing a great job. Better than Chris Wallace.

Trump learned his lesson. No interruptions yet. So far it’s a draw. Biden talks specifics; Trump is talking higher level. If it continues like this, the race is unchanged.
Of course, I thought Pence won the last debate and the majority of the country didn’t agree with me.
