Lol, this could go on forever.

Slash - 'Hi Beta, I need to borrow your psychic, I've lost one of my snakes.'
Axl - 'Whos that?'
Beta - 'Its Slash, he's lost a snake, wants to borrow the psychic to help find it'.
Axl - 'Liar! Quick tell the boards'.

Why cant they all just be friends? :wtf:

i would love to know what this was really for....a few weeks back, the guy who wrote the Reckless Road book said at htgth that Slash should apologise to Axl....so i posted something to the effect that wasn't Slash's visit to Axl's house supposed to be exactly that...an apology of sorts...?

the i got this PM from beta...

Hi,
Just one comment on your post. Slash did not come to the gate to apologize for his lies on his interviews. He came to the gate because he needed something. Nothing to do with apologies.

Have a good day

Beta

wonder what was it that he needed/wanted from them.....?

Interesting response from Beta and Canter. Nice to know the GNR camp still love discussing/badmouthing Slash. Its ambiguous statements like that that cause all the ridiculous speculation and argument amongst GNR fans on the boards. She should either be quiet or try talking about the GNR that 'exists' now instead of worrying about Slash so much.

I wonder what he needed though. We'll never know. Good to hear he wasn't there to apologise about his 'lies' though.

are you serious?
almost every single interview from 97 onwards from those two was about Axl bashing.....they've cooled off recently, so they're a bit more democratic, but they were taking some serious shots at him for years...mind you, so was he, but they were pretty serious...

i'm sure sic. could locate some of the "best" moments from their interviews...

Cool, I look forward to reading what they had to say. I'm sure a lot of it wasn't direct bashing just some home truths.

If they could stop talking trash about Axl in  the press. It almost happened. The pens were ready to sign. With the Greatest Hits there was a possibility but there was too much stuff being said. But it was a close call. I would love to see that happen, as a Guns n' roses fan. I'd pay to see it.

We now have confirmation that the band has almost reunited at least once.

Now the people who have always said it could/would never happen are eating a bit of crow.

Agreed, we just need that other 'Welcome to the Jungle Best Of' to come out and we are looking at another possibility of a reunion.... Well heres hoping anyway....!!

I wonder what the obstacles were to it happening? I guess theres just so many that it just fell flat.

Would be great to hear more about this, but no one has ever spoken of it other than Scott. He is right though, apart from about 10 people, the world would be happy if it happened.

I don't think Slash and Duff badmouth Axl to the press really. The odd comment recently about turning up late to gigs and disrespecting fans (in comparison to Scott) isn't a dig, its the truth. Its not like he has learned from past behaviour.

Interesting quote from Scott regarding the possible reunion around the time of the GH. Its always a case of 'what could've been' with this band. Everyone is too damn stubborn and ruled by ego. I'm so close to just giving up on them completely.

#287 Re: Guns N' Roses » Rumor: Axl and Slash at same hotel in NYC? » 907 weeks ago

I think its a lot of speculation/blind optimism that this has actually happened. I'm so hoping that it has of course, but they may have met for any reason. It could all be about who borrows Sebastian Bach for the weekend. Who knows.

Whatever contracts etc that Axl, Slash or'GNR' have in place will be easily superceded by whatever Azoff and Co can knock up or any collaboration that each party's management can agree on for the right price/revenue etc. A reunion would buy any respective party out of any current paperwork they have as long as the right people get the right cut. Costs for CD will be written off striaght away and Scott Weiland/poor Libertad sales will be a distant memory. No one will do anything but benefit massively from a proper Guns tour.

Unfortunately, the only real stepping stone as has been mentioned is Axl's ego and bizarre notion that he alone is Guns N'Roses. How anyone alone can make up something that is technically a plural is odd, but the world of Axl seems to be a strange place. I think it would take a lot for him to admit that he needs the real band to really move forward and take the world by storm again. 14 years of bollocks has proved that to be the case, A bunch of session musicians cant live up to a legacy as large as GNR's no matter how hard they try. The world at large doesnt need to hear 5 versions of IRS when they could hear Slash and co rip out Civil War or all the other classics they themselves wrote.

This debate could go on forever but now with the debacle that is Chinese Democracy/Axl & Friends there is only one way forward - make the call Axl. Or we'll set Tommy Hilfiger on you.

This story is legit. Axl and Slash met and talked to each other.

The only problem is that we don't know what was said.

Please elaborate. How do you know its definitely legit?

that's a good question - he kinda said it like he was there and then signed off. i doubt he was and it was his first post on the topic.

Starsko seems certain doesnt he. Maybe he is the porter at the hotel? Hmmm, the plot thickens, Starsko what did you spend the $200 tip on?

Seriously though, any info you have is much appreciated. If true this is the news 95% of the GNR fanbase want to hear....

Cmon Axl - release your solo album and swallow your pride....
