It is so sad to see a band that is loved by so many, that has so many good songs in such a small catalogue of music, continue to not release music. Yes we got Absurd and Hard Skool, both of which I really like, but it seems like that’s it? Every 6 months we get a member saying some bullshit about new music and get nothing. We all know there are songs done, songs redone, and songs that probably got finished that we have no clue about.
Ok so we didn’t get an album, so far no songs either. What really makes this band a joke though? THE FUCKING MANAGEMENT! No updates on the box set, no updates on music, no interaction at all with the fans. A complete and utter joke.
If the reason we can’t get new music is because of Slash and Duff re joining and the ‘instability’ of trying to write/record/re-record new music and RELEASE it… than I am 100% with Chris Pittman and say fuck the oldies band. Release CD2 as it was or continue on with your boring nostalgia bullshit tour going on it’s 6th year?? Even the band looks bored to death on stage! Maybe just let us fans in on what’s going on..’hey GnR fans, we are trying to get an album out mid September 2022!’ ‘There are delays on the box set, we don’t know when that will be coming but you can expect a digital release by…’ something, anything, we as fans are sick of being ignored.
Sincerely,
Just about every fucking fan of this band.

Apparently Fortus said that Axl damaged his vocal chords, probably due to the bad sound in London.
Maybe now is the time to get vocal surgery done? Sounds like it may be inevitable anyways.
Maybe this will lead to greatly improved vocals in the future, like Steven Tyler and Adele for example..
Regardless hope everything works out good for Axl and the band.

I bet it's hard for Axl to delete parts of these songs he has worked on for so long and became attached to. Hard to imagine him critiquing what S+D have laid over the top of these tracks and working through it all. Everyone thinks that a new album would be harder but I think if a version of CD2 comes out writing new material would actually be easier for the band, if all parties were interested. I think moving forward Axl would be fine putting out more material now that its not all on his shoulders anymore, he has S+D there to soak up some of the critique. CD2 is something Axl has really labored over and I really believe he wants to put it out. Hopefully soon is the word.

I heard the proshot on YouTube today and Sweet Child is actually quite raspy. When I heard the cell phone clips I couldnt hear any at all but the clarity of the pro shot really makes easier to hear. It’s softer than the old days but I still think he sounds good live and could put out great vocals on an album. Would probably surprise a lot of us.
Axl is definitely no Vince Neil.

I wish Slash would save the two to three good riffs he has per album and use it for Guns. Axl hurry up and get the record out before Slash and Myles put out another bland ass, shit album and start writing together again. Maybe you could call Izzy over? Ask Brain to come back..

After watching the lyric video, I feel like Axl wrote the lyrics about himself. On the lyric video it seemed to highlight Axl during the chorus ‘had to be a fool had to do it your way, had to be fool had to throw it all away’. I see the whole lyric video as a guide to the meaning of HS.
I listened to this song on repeat when it first came out and burnt it out, happy to say now revisiting it a couple months later i like the song even more than when I first heard it. Would love an album of Chinese Leftovers with Slash and Duff.

As far as best live vocal take, in my book nothing tops his cover of Rod Stewarts Sailing. if only there was a high quality recording of that...

Intros and excessive length songs plagued CD imo. A good example is Scraped: a good song, could use better lyrics for the chorus but I love the bi polar lyrics everywhere else. But the intro is garbage! I had a buddy listen and he wanted to skip before the song even started because of that intro.. They should of started that song with the intro they used live with Frank on drums, that would rock.
Riad- dumb intro
Chinese- super long intro, should have been a separate track like other bands do
Better- not as bad but imagine the live intro now going right into the song
And they should have cut the long middle part out of Madagascar, I can't stand it!

The mix definitely doesn't sound 'great' unless you crank it. With the stereo cranked though it sounds great. My only complaint would be the drums seem super quantized which makes the playing sound robotic. They did bring the cowbell back though!
Good song, I think it will do well.
