#291 Re: Guns N' Roses » Sean Beavan Interview on the album (includes tibits on Bryan May) » 188 weeks ago

I love Brian May, but I couldn’t imagine him being an actual replacement for Slash. That said, it may have worked in Axl’s favour to have a high profile curly haired guitarist like Brian in his band.

This scene is so powerful. So much tension, so much suspense, and Robert Pattinson doesn’t say a word, yet says so much. I think this movie could turn out to be great

I fully expect Atlas/reworked OMG.

I would’ve said no way to OMG being redone, due to Axl saying back when it came out that Duff and Slash weren’t interested in working on the song.

But after we’ve gotten Slash playing Silkworms with Absurd, I’d say anything is on the table now.

Damn, really sorry to hear. 50 is way too young to die too. RIP

#297 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ Ashba: Buckethead Took the Coolness Out of the Band » 190 weeks ago

There are a lot of nuGNR fans here, myself included to an extent, so I’ll be careful with my words here…

Let’s face it, nuGNR looked like a freak show, not the bunch of badass rockers that the classic lineup portrayed.

Buckethead is from another planet guitar-skills wise, and trying to replace Slash with an avant-guard character like Bucket, is one direction I actually give credit to Axl for going in.

It’s when he brought in hot topic Slash in DJ Ashba, that things became kinda cringe, and I actually like DJ. He was cool when Monkey and I met him in 2013 on their Aussie tour.

So I guess as a classic lineup fan, I can understand him saying Bucket wasn’t as cool looking.

It's about health with a side order of we're sick of bullshit here.

You call an ambulance in Melbourne now and none fucking comes.

Because everyone is fucking sick, or looking after someone who is fucking sick, or doesn't want to expose someone else in their household to getting fucking sick and so there's just no one to do half the essential fucking shit that needs doing.

Basically none of us wanted to do a lockdown, lots of us didn't wanna go get a needle, lots of them were forced into getting a needle, you can't get half the basic fucking shit you need at the supermarket. Right after setting up a bunch of draconian anti-australian shit none of us liked the government then went full fucking reverse and just went "fuck it. call us if you don't die" and fucked off to literally watch the cricket while there's no supply of vaccine, tests, hospitals, or you know...fucking food in the motherfucking shops.

Oh and lets not forget china punishing us economically for the crime of mentioning that maybe it might be worth humanity learning how this happened in the first place so it doesn't happen again...

Then some rich halfwit tennis clowns waltzs into this environment peddling the same anti-vax bullshit, the same facebook horsehit that most of us have already lost friends over and that is one of the reasons the fucking ICU is full....and...so... when a bunch of other blokes asks why there seems to be a different set of rules for rich people, why they were made to get jabs but this guy isn't...the clown...gets his dad to wind up a fucking diplomatic international incident as if his fucking race had anything to do with it....

So let me quote the classic aussie phrase "yeah, nah". He can fuck off. It's got nothing to do with control and everything to do with not coming here and acting like a fucking wanker. In fairness to the guy - most of us are already shat off at each other or the government or both, so maybe he just picked the wrong month to act like a cunt.

Government remembered that everyone blames them for the fact that they fucked up every stage of this pandemic from the start....they realised they can't provide us with essential services or food or any infrastructure....but they can let the door hit some tennis wanker on the way out....so I guess...hey...maybe they wanted a cheap vote.

^ This.

Pretty much all of this.

1000% correct.

#299 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » SMKC new single out 22nd October » 191 weeks ago

Third single Call Off The Dogs is a fast rocker, similar to other SMKC fast rockers, and Myles isn’t overly annoying on it, though melody wise it just sounds like you’ve heard all before. Slash sounds great, there’s some very nice riffing going on under the first verse that reminded me a little of Double Talkin Jive, and the solo is nice short without getting too shreddy.

Listening to all three singles together, seems to make more sense than listening as standalone songs.

I think Fill My World is the best we’ve heard so far, and I don’t think any of these songs are particularly great, but I’m still interested enough to hear the rest of the album

#300 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash: GNR has not written any new music, everything completed is CD 2 » 192 weeks ago

I thought I read an interview with Slash about Ain’t Going Down, and the reason it didn’t end up on the album is because they forgot to record it, or something.

That doesn’t sound that unlikely, given the amount of songs they had to record.
