Dude sold it out in winter  for Motley Crue, Tragically Hip was in Red Deer in January and the place sold out instantly.  Where you from originally? 16 I drive back and forth between Calgary and Red Deer all winter long dude. It's not the suicide mission you're making it out to be and the -40 degrees stuff normally happens in February 14  Trust me on this one man. Red Deer has a surrounding area of like 150 000 people. The drive from either Edmonton or Calgary isn't that bad.  Red Deer would make perfect sense.  Plus if it were such a  risk nobody from Red Deer would ever venture into Calgary or Edmonton in the winter for concerts let alone on a  daily basis.

Is that Celsius or Fahrenheit we're dealing with here?

Because if this is -40 celsius, Canads is fucking shit cold! And I'm from Scandinavia!

It can be very cold in Canada man.  -40 celcius is not common but does happen during winter time.

With the Canadian tour coming up and a lot of people bitching about the setlist.  If you go to a GNR concert what would be your dream setlist?  A setlist that would send you home happy.  Me I'm doing mine thinking they would do about 20 songs for the show and in no particular order.

1) Welcome to the jungle
2) Mr.  Brownstone
3) Nightrain
4) Sweet Child O' Mine
5) Paradise city
6) Rocket Queen
7) You could be mine
8) Don't Cry
9) Dead horse
10) November Rain
11) Live & Let Die
12) Civil War
13) Pretty Tied up
14) Locomotive
15) Chinese Democracy
16) If the world
17) Madagascar
18) Catcher in the Rye
19) Better
20) Riad and the Bedouins

Ok.  I put 6 songs from CD cause well they are touring to promote the album so might as well play 5 or 6 songs from CD.  Took out Street of Dreams and IRS to put If The world and Catcher in the Rye instead and added Riad.  I also ommited Estranged and Patience cause a setlist with too much ballads can suck.  And since there's already Sweet child, November Rain and Don't Cry along with Maddy and Catcher that I consider ballads I thought it was more than enough.  Plus I hate when they only play hits.  I wanna hear some gems in there thus why I put Dead Horse, Locomotive and Pretty Tied up in there.  Those songs are really good and would love to hear them live.  So if they played that list in Moncton I'd be happy.  Plus add the long guitar solos and you have 23 songs.

Ok.  I have a vast cd collection and one artist that is missing in my discography is Tom Waits.  Now I do not wish to buy his entire discography.  Any suggestions on which albums I should buy?  Does he have a boxset worthy of having or a best of?  Any help will be appreciated.

There were a ton of tickets given away at all of the shows that tour.  None of the information is credible regardless of the source.

Tons of venues in the US had empty sections so they clearly weren't giving away enough. A lot of acts paper events that don't sell out. A packed house is a packed house.

I think a key factor this time around is the choice of opening act. Its time to pick someone who will help put asses in seats, not chase them away.

What?  Baz didn't put asses in the seats?  19

In St-John.  If I had to guess I'd say there was around 8000 people there.  Lots of buy 1 get one ticket free.  After they played Liquor and whores Axl said that that song made him fell all warm and fuzzy inside.

i happen to wonder, what is the capacity of those venues? because i don't see them selling a lot of tickets so they might want to go with a few thousand people shows.

and about what buzzsaw said earlier, to those going to the shows, always, in the back of your mind, have the thought that it's possible your show is a no-show. you'll be less disappointed. not trying to bash the band because if i would have 3-4 gnr shows within 3 hours drive i'd buy tickets to all of them in a heartbeat, but i wouldn't get too pumped up until the man steps up on that stage. that feeling is part of the gnr world.

so, have a great show to those attending. can't wait for the bootlegs.

The Bell Centre holds 2100 people for Hockey games.  But for a show.  Not sure.  The Coliseum in Moncton holds about 8000 people max.

bell centre holds 21,000 for hockey so it is a large arena.

As for a US tour, as I have always said 2000 to 5000 seat theatres with high quality acoustics are perfect for this band. Do a few arena shows in a few major markets-NY, Boston, Chicago....places where they have put more than 10,000 people in the seats on multiple occasions in 2002/2006.

Oops forgot a zero.  I meant 21000.  Sorry for the typo.
