Lol, what the hell is this?
Those who watched Boston’s revered Fourth of July celebration Monday night on CBS were treated to spectacular views of fireworks exploding behind the State House, Quincy Market, and home plate at Fenway Park, among other places - great views, until you consider that they were physically impossible.
As viewers began to point out yesterday, it would not have been geographically possible to see the fireworks above and behind the landmarks in question, since the display was launched from a barge in the Charles River and in directions away from those places.
“According to CBS, you can see the fireworks from the right side of Quincy Market, even though Beacon Hill is in the way,’’ wrote “Kaz,’’ whose real name is Karl Clodfelter , a commenter on the Boston blog UniversalHub.com. “Also, they come up behind the State House when you’re standing across the road … which means the barge must have been parked on the Zakim this year,’’ wrote Clodfelter, a research scientist from Brighton.

I'm normally very apt at these things, but are they saying/implying the broadcast was photoshopped or something? And wouldn't that be like nuts?

Yeah, but all those guys are hitmen or FBI
After skill and size is taken into account determination and will still accounts for a whole lot. A crazy enough guy can stab you if he knows he doesn't stand a chance against you physically. If you got that kind of image I'd say a lot of fights are over even before they begin. At least that's what Sun Tzu says.
Axl probably got kicked around a bit when he was younger (I think so?), and after got famous it's a bit hard to get into a fair fight with all the cameras and body guards, so I'd see he isn't proven. Unless he cracked somebody in 85 or something that we know about. But I know where I'd put my money if he goes up against anyone else in the band.

We also shouldn't just discount the monkey on his back CD used to be. With that and the Azoff business out of the way I could see him becoming more laid back about making and releasing music.

I can agree with this statement: CD would/could have been a much larger hit if Axl wasn't allergic to authority and compromise.
Point I'm trying to make is that success for new Gn'R is not necessarily dependent on Slash coming back, but it is dependent on it if Axl doesn't change his attitude.

Yeah, that's kinda of funny though. I haven't heard Death, but most say it's good. Still they made a lesser impact on that release than with Anger.

Did Metallica come back with just James? (Maybe they did...not a huge Metallica fan)
If not, the comparison is even a bigger stretch than it would have been anyway. Metallica didn't go 15 years between releases.
No, but they came back with an album sounding like it was made in a back alley by a homeless person. If the label can put a good spin on that they could surely put a good spin on a one man Gn'R with good to great material.
Enter sick fantasy about Axl and Slash making a "some kind of monster" docu. They could put that shit in theaters.

I shouldn't really say "dick" and I wasn't particularly talking about you. I like some spit in my relationships. The difference between an upstanding person and a true dick is that the former cares, like through animals. I see somebody not treating animals right and I want to kill them. It just shows how selfish and careless they are. Far too few people are "dicks" when they need to be imo. Like you said, if you gotta you gotta.

Metallica gained a lot of goodwill with the public doing that Monster documentary, and for "keeping it real" playing "badass guitar". Carried the whole album afterwards, and that album was atrocious. Like Axl coming back with snakepit 2.
Face it. Bands like Metallica and AC/DC are hot stuff in 2011 despite not having good material for over 20 years. It's not about the music, it's about making the corporate goons happy. Axl might be the worst person in the world for that.

What, you think Vince and Bob showed up and Axl did not? It was a bunch of bullshit from both parties. You'll only need to check out the pictures to see who was the big mouthed child in the Hilfiger incident. Standing there doing karate poses? That sound like a guy that knows anything about fighting?
You've seen the dude at St. Louis. He just doesn't care. How many rockers you know of could do something like that?
#3710 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Never mind Nevermind, 1991 was all about Guns N' Roses » 759 weeks ago
I don't know, for a band that was that big not long ago, with a dead singer to boot, there are surprisingly few Nirvana fans around. Personally I don't know anybody that still listens to them and the last time I heard them at a party was years and years ago.
