#3851 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Great Interview with Slash on UYI I and II » 762 weeks ago

November Rain can no longer justify a 13,7% share of such an album. Great song, nothing wrong with it, but it's not even the best epic on UYI1.

Yes, I remove their biggest hit from the album and it still kicks AFD's ass.

No particular order.

Considering he's already a living legend in Russia I'd say this is as democratic as you're going to get it. I've talked to some working type Russians and they want statues of him when he dies. He has restored self respect and stability to the nation. Guy's a hero.

Surely he should be able to plead insanity here.

If he got rebuffed, by a maid/assistant non the less, he probably did something. Found this interesting tidbit from Axl's chats.

Q: - What the hell was My World?  lol (I've always been curious)

A: Great question and here goes for all your inquisitive minds with a bit you aren’t aware of but is the real story…

Unfinished 1st run 1st dabbling/experimenting all in fun demo that became Duff’s favorite song at the time telling me how he loved to blast it at his house with Ice T and the Bodycount guys before Illusions came out and before it was decided to be on the record. I wanted to try and develop it and wanted guitars of some kind but Slash felt and his words at the Record Plant in all seriousness were “It’s perfect” and Slash and Duff were the deciding factor to have it on the album.

Personally I feel Duff legitimately liked it but I can’t say Slash did in the same way. In fact I feel he was keenly aware some would take issue with the track and against me so for him in that sense it was “perfect”.  Imo Duff wasn’t aware or part of that and was “used” unwittingly for support in talking me out of developing it or not including it which at the time I had no real intention of using as is.

If that's the level Slash is working on, and I could see that, he could most likely still push Axls buttons if he wants to.

I grew up on the edge of a county in a backwards socialist country in the 80s, so getting my hands on any contemporary music was a near impossibility. Up to I was 15 all I really had was 1 cassette of "Dangerous".

Luckily a little thing called internet arrived at our house in 97. From there on I swallowed everything I could get my hands on before discovering KOHD from Live Era. And that was that. Bought the whole cataloge shortly afterwards. Then not long after that RIO III happened so I really never got emotionally attached to any lineup. I got exposed to everything at once and I loved them all.

Modern journalists are a testament that good grades, intelligence and proper grammar are not mutually exclusive. Nobody is comparing anybody to Hitler in those quotes.

If they were though the analogy wouldn't be as far off as you might think. Obamajugend has been proposed. He's best buddies with the banksters. He has embraced Bush' executive powers and even pushed through some new ones. When he's not fear mongering at home he's war mongering abroad. The troops from Iraq were shipped to Afghanistan and now he's bombing in Libya, Jemen and a few others I can't recall. Direct murder is ordered on enemies. He sits on a debt that can only be resolved through a WWII scale conflict (quote Nobel price winner in economics). Cooperation among nations is not a choice he says.

I think apart from the usual exaggerations, the obvious lie from the GN'R camp is that Slash was sober. It lends credence to the sincerity of his approachment and if Slash wants to counter saying he was shitfaced that's hardly going to help him.

But the notion that Slash wanted back in shouldn't come as a shock to anyone. I'd put my net worth on that spin in a heartbeat.

The sad part is that Axl probably never got to hear what Slash actually had to say if it was conveyed to him through Beta.

People go to hysteria over a few deaths, like we were meant to live forever.

It's not the same thing, but even though wrestling can and are watched by adults it seems to me to be mostly a kids show too. I loved it myself as a kid, and I know of many others that did too, but it usually ended there. For fighting it got a solid PG feel to it.
