(hennemusic) Tesla were in the studio last week recording a new song, "Taste My Pain," at bassist Brian Wheat's J Street Recorders studio. The group reveals that they have plans to releasing the song digitally as a single sometime this summer and include it on a forthcoming album, which they're aiming to release in 2014.
"[Singer] Jeff Keith and I made a demo in [the] studio, it's called 'Taste My Pain' and it rocks hard!," posted guitarist Frank Hannon last Wednesday.
"This will be the first real original song recording session for the band since 'Forever More' or 'Twisted Wires'. We are pumped to put it out this summer!"
Tesla's latest album, "Twisted Wires And The Acoustic Sessions," was released in 2011. The project featured 6 songs that were done in 2005 and 6 newly-recorded tracks, including acoustic remakes of songs from the band's catalog, plus two brand new songs, "Second Street" and "Better Off Without You".

If nothing else, it'll be worth it for the badass Supes-Zod fight.

I'm torn on this band...I've been underwhelmed since (and including) vitalogy
I feel the exact same way. I finally listened to Backspacer yesterday and that was my take away, did't dislike it, but I wasn't at all moved by it. And it got such great reviews, lol.
I think the trouble for me is with Eddie's voice, I don't think it's as powerful as it used to be, and it's gotten so raspy that its difficult to understand the lyrics.

I loved Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt, god that was good. I never listened to the rest of that album though, I'll have to remedy that.
I'm interested in what Sammy will do with it too. I'm getting pretty excited about this new album he's working on.

If you’ve ever thought to yourself, ‘Wow, I’d sure like to hear Sammy Hagar cover Depeche Mode,’ then you’re in luck. In a new interview, Chickenfoot drummer Chad Smith says he recently helped the Red Rocker lay down a new recording of ‘Personal Jesus,’ along with several other tracks.
“He’s doing a record, I think it’s called ‘Sammy and Friends,’” the drummer tells WRIF 101. The album features guest appearances from various musicians that have played a role in Hagar’s career. “He’s got the old guys from Montrose . . . they did a couple tracks,” Smith relates.
He also shed a little more light on the tracks Hagar cut with what he jokingly called “the new HSAS,” featuring the Chickenfoot rhythm section of Smith and bassist Michael Anthony along with Journey guitarist Neal Schon. “He wanted to have me and Mike, so he called Neal Schon, who he’s played with before, and we did a couple covers and came up with a new song,” Smith says. “And it was really fun, man. Just a blast. I love playing with those guys. It’s so fun.”
Along with the Depeche Mode track, the musicians also cut a new version of ‘Going Down,’ which Chickenfoot have played live. So far there’s no release date for the album.
#388 Re: The Garden » 2013 Confederations Cup » 641 weeks ago
This isn't a very significant tourney, but I'm very excited to watch it. Four years ago the US made it to the finals of this Cup after upsetting the number 1 ranked Spain. Spain had just won the European Cup 3 years before that, was considered by many the best team in the world, and went on to win the World Cup a year later. So, it was kind of a big deal for the US.
The US aren't in this one, but I'm still pumped to watch it. I'm also a big Spain supporter (my parents migrated from there and I still keep in touch with family on that side of the pond). Like I said, not a big tourney, but there are some great teams competing in this thing, and all with something to prove.
For Spain, they are again ranked #1 in the world. After winning the World Cup they went on to win another European Cup. What makes it particularly sweet for Spain fans is that they had been perpetual underachievers for decades before this. Always being one of the strongest sides in tournaments but constantly being eliminated early and in humiliating fashion. Now, there are arguments about if Spain is the new Brazil, and if this generation of Spaniards is better than Pele's Brazilian team. If this Spain team can beat Brazil, in Brazil (the host country of this tourney and next years World Cup), and/or win another World Cup, that debate might be settled.
It's a pretty exciting time to be a Spain fan. I'll be watching this thing with great interest.

That wasn't my take away exactly. He said "maybe next year, after the thing with the Stones". I took that to mean that if the Stones are inactive he'll do it, that doesn't exactly mean he's not open to making new music with the Stones. But yeah, I'm interested in hearing it too.
