It is make or break.

I don't see how it's make or break now anymore than it was previously.
They released what was considered their worst album (St Anger) and they still went on to play sell out tours all over the world.  Hell, even the last few years with no new album out they still pull a huge crowd. Metallica don't need to release anything and they'll still be popular.

Do you honestly believe that if the new album will make or break whether Metallica will continue to be popular? These guys are music legends, and the first 4 (or 5 if you count Black) albums have solidified them as such.

I'm glad I'm not a fan of this band. Must be painful. What I saw on stage some weeks ago was way over the hill. How can Master Of Puppets sound so stale?

Really?

The recent live footage I've seen of the band, they haven't sounded so tight in years like they do now, and the new clips I've heard of the new album is also the most promising music I've heard from them in years as well.

Great to hear Slash ripping through those songs, shame Perry cut Slash off where the first solo was supposed to come in in Knockin. Teddy has a great voice too, sounded just like Lenny!

"What I thought was beautiful don't live inside of you, anymore"

"what this means to me is more than I know you'll believe"

I love those lines.

I've finally gotten onto the Mission Metallica site (free to fan club members such as myself) with my new high-speed internet connection, and watched a shitload of videos that they've put up on there of them working on the new album.

I gotta say, I've been apprehensive about what I've heard of their new stuff, but my jaw dropped to the floor with some of the snippets of the new songs I heard. They're coming up with some absolutely killer new music. They sound re-invigorated and really inspired again.

#3976 Re: Guns N' Roses » Song #2 (Unknown Title) » 899 weeks ago

This song reminds me of Misunderstood by Bon Jovi, dunno why, maybe it's because Axl sings misunderstood in the lyrics, but it also has a similar tempo.

Not too bad overall, but definitely not my favourite from what I've heard so far.

I don't like If The World at all. Sounds like GN'R playing lounge/porn music as others have said.

Rhiad studio sounds cool, and so does the other one.
Still, are all of these tracks really worth the wait or do they live up to the hype...?

I don't listen to alot of Coldplay but I don't think Silverchair sounds at all like them. Also, I highly doubt that a falscetto part here and there means that's all he'd be doing with VR.

Maybe not vocally, but Straight Lines is a piano-lead song, like most of Coldplay's stuff.
Silverchair started as a guitar band, and I struggle to hear any guitar in their new stuff. Which is probably why I don't like it.

Daniel Johns shits me too. You ever see him in interviews?
He can barely string a sentence together. I guess being vegetarian will do that to you. He needs to eat a good steak or something... 16

Anyway, back on topic, I hope VR make an announcement soon.
Duff sounds pretty excited about the latest audition.

I think James got confused about 4 more tracks to be heard, along with the mention that the album supposedly consists of '9 epics plus one song'. And as you said, they were previewed 6 tracks of the 10 from the album.

I dunno about Hetfield attending any GN'R shows, but Lars has always professed his love for GN'R and even played drums on a song at one of their gigs in 2006. Still waiting for a boot to surface of that!
