I really wish Warren would try to pass a clean wealth tax amendment, I’d certainly be in favor of it. But clean bills without pork isn’t something our legislature seems capable of.

I would like to see low tax rates and more consumption taxes like a junk food tax, a luxury tax (like GHW Bush had) and an internet sales tax for big companies like Amazon.

My problem with vice taxes is it's often unfair in how it's applied, and it just so happens to disproportionately impact the lowest earners in society.  Trump may love McDonalds and eat it a few times a week, but most billionaires never touch the stuff.  I thought the courts reversed the internet sales tax thing a few years ago, and you no longer avoid taxes buying from Amazon?

I used to really advocate for usage fees in my libertarian era, but when 50% of the country pays no federal tax, the wealthy avoid paying their taxes like the plague, and automation is quickly going to displace millions of low skilled workers, I no longer think that is a viable solution.  For me a wealth tax is the only real way forward.

Democrats desire to remove the SALT deduction is unlikely as progressives point out removing it only keeps the rich from paying more in federal taxes.  Most people are never near the cap, and the poorest aren't paying into it anyway.  Our entire tax code needs to be automated and done automatically at the federal level to stop all the deductions and loopholes, but there's no way in hell this congress or any foreseeable future one can make that happen.  Another great example of how the US lags compared to other 1st world nations.

Dude, he reads headlines and nothing more. This is example 1001. He saw a headline about Bill Maher shit talking on Trump, recognized SG often posts clips from Maher’s show, and thought he could get a dig in. The true irony is the same episode Mitch is citing, the clip and episode he never watched, Maher said Democrats are tanking and going to lose in 2022 cause of the woke/progressive (Mitch) crowd. You can’t make this kind of unawareness up.

I don’t know what nation you’re in, but the order Biden us trying to mandate in the US has virtually no chance of surviving the courts. Justices are going to ask why more deadly and dangerous diseases don’t warrant attention, and unlike of Twitter, pundits and comment sections, advocates won’t be able to slink away when cornered with that fact.

What upsets me are the amount of health care workers who are refusing it. That should be mandatory just as the flu vaccine is mandatory. I know a provider who deals exclusively with severely immunocompromised children, and she refuses it because of her catholic faith and the use of stem cells in the vaccine development. I know an ER nurse who feels the same way and has refused it despite interacting with people on deaths door who might not survive an infection.

I’ll check it out. Unlike GoT, the entire story of the Dance of the Dragons is already told in the World of Ice and Fire and Fire and Blood, so less chance of them going off the rails. Definitely don’t care for the half assed job of trying to improve the iron throne should have left it alone or made it 2 stories tall like in the books.

Lol, okay? And his approval ratings are still shit.

You're right. He's approaching Trump's average level of terrible approval.

And that's without half of Congress and the media telling the country the election was illegitimate and we've been taken over by Russia.  Biden did this all on his own.

And before you try to counter with the nut Greene, someone universally loathed:

Here are sixteen things with higher approval ratings than Joe Biden:

1. Candy corn - Even these tasteless cones of wax fare better in the polls than Sleepy Joe.

2. Prostate exams - Uncomfortable but at least they don't last four years.

3. The restrooms at Walmart - Unsanitary but they've never tried to sniff our hair.

4. The decision to cancel Firefly - Next time Joe Biden wants to stab us in the back, he should have the guts to do it to our face.

5. DMV employees - Hey, at least they know where they are.

6. Pearl Harbor, the Ben Affleck movie - We don't know how this one beat Joe but it did.

7. The actual attack on Pearl Harbor - At least it eventually led to the fall of Hitler.

8. Andrew Cuomo's steamy new romance novel - Yeesh. Biden's numbers must be awful.

9. The guy in your neighborhood who hands out toothbrushes on Halloween - Everyone has that guy. But hey, he's not trying to ruin your life.

10. Long John Silver's - Something's fishy about this place but at least you can just avoid it.

11. Todd - Good one, Todd!

12. Gas station sushi - Will only make you sick one time and you'll have a great story to tell.

13. Gwyneth Paltrow's vagina candle - We don't know why she sells these but some people like them, we guess.

14. Alex Rodriguez's vagina candle - We don't know why he sells these but some people like them, we guess.

15. Installing a car seat - On a 120-degree day in Phoenix.

16. Wuhan's world-famous bat soup - The taste isn't so bad, it's the consistency.

Buddy, we all know you don’t read more than 4 sentences on anything. That’s the entire point, and you just gave the best self admitted example. Congrats on living and supporting a city that literally refused to prosecute gang members caught on camera in a shootout. You don’t want to live in the same world the 99% do.

Why are Republicans pretending co-vid exists when it comes to immigration but not any other context?

What fucking world do you live in?  The entire 2020 election was about COVID. In case you forgot, that was what the media and Democrats ran 24/7 for a year - COVID was the greatest threat in a century and Donald Trump handled it abysmally. You and every other parrot immediately forgot that Biden called Trump xenophobic for ending commercial flights from China, and Pelosi and DeBlassio were telling people to go out and party like it’s 1999. Then they attacked Trump for saying he’d have a vaccine in a year, and they all questioned if they’d take any vaccine created under Trump. There is video-graphic evidence of everything I said and is common knowledge to anyone who watched any media in 2020.

Now Biden has been ordered by a federal court and that order maintained by SCOTUS that Biden can’t abandon Trump’s immigration controls at the boarder. Despite this, DHS reports are at least 100k illegals are caught entering weekly before the Haitian crisis, and at least 10% of them were COVID positive. So at a minimum, Biden was releasing 10k COVID positive people a week into the US by refusing to detain anyone caught despite an order upheld by SCOTUS telling him he can’t do this. God only knows how many unvaccinated, COVID positive migrants illegally enter each day with this government’s refusal to enact any kind of control over the border. You can literally walk into the United States unrestricted along most of our southern border, and tens of thousands of people carrying the virus your party compares to worse than the Spanish flu enter our nation unencumbered each week and you summarize any criticism of that as

Why are Republicans pretending co-vid exists when it comes to immigration but not any other context?

Have you put any effort into forming a logical and coherent assessment of the current state of affairs with the logic you embraced and parroted ad nauseum?

The worst are the morons who compare a vaccine mandate to an early 20th century ruling out of Boston where 1/5 children were dying from smallpox.  For the millionth time, more kids die each year from the flu than have died from COVID in its entirety, and we weren’t forcing shots in every arm and disrupting their education and literally harming children through isolation and the ability to learn communication through facial expression. Do you really want the bar of government authority to be the standard of COVID?

So which is it Mitch?  Is COVID the crisis of our generation, or is keeping out hundreds of thousands of unvaccinated and highly infected illegal immigrants from entering our nation something that should happen?
