I think Impostor is Del James personally.
#3992 Re: Guns N' Roses » Freese leaves NIN - Robin stays(?) » 913 weeks ago
I'm sad to see Robin go. I have never been a NiN fan, but I really enjoyed what he brought to GN'R. Anyone who saw the perform live can understand how much of an important role he brought to GN'R - this is the guy who replaced Slash for christ sakes.
That being said, Ron is perfectly capable of filling robins shoes. I mean, bringing bucket back would be nice, but as all recent articles have hinted, that ain't gonna happen cause bucket's not interested.
It's not hard to bring in another lead guitarist to tour, playing other people's parts isn't exactly a hard thing for a compitent guitarist to do. Axl said that Fortus was capable of playing lead, so if Tobias would be willing to tour this album, Fortus could step up into Robin's part.
But the point remains, the band that created CD does not exist anymore. Granted, Ron added some really cool parts to songs, but he was never an original creator. This album should have been released in 2002 as has been said already. I'm not one to buy into the re-union crap, but if there was ever a time it was possible it's now. I mean, we saw how long it took Axl to create a new band and then release an album. If he has to do the same thing again, it'll be 2023 when the next GN'R album comes out. If Tommy leaves GN'R, Axl will be left with two choices; call up Slash and Duff or retire.
#3993 Re: The Garden » Knives out for Palin: McCain aides tell tales of Diva » 914 weeks ago
I have to agree here. McCain may have ran a poor campaign, though I think claiming that is a cop out too, but Palin is obviously not too bright. The countless interviews and even the debates show that. Let's call a spade a spade. It's known that McCain only spoke to her for 15 minutes prior to offering her the VP spot. The same reasons you were asking for her for the months leading up to the announcement James are the same reasons she was picked. It is a safe assumption to belive that a governor is well read and able to discuss important issues. This was obviously not the case with Sarah Palin and from day one she started an uproar. I honestly wonder if she even told McCain her 17 year old daughter was pregnant?
if Palin is the future of the GOP, take this as my final divorce from the Republican party. I'm already a dues paying Libertarian, now the GOP will never get a vote from me.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan as my name indicates. If you have never read The Stand, I highly recommend it. It is probably King's best stand alone book (though my personal favorite is insomnia). If you really want to read, I recommend the greatest series of books ever written - The Dark Tower. Gunslinger will back me up on this.

I think it's important for people to remember this. There are alot of junk polsters out there; zogby and cnn/time to name a few. Throughout this entire election, people on either side of the aisle would act as if the sky had opened up because one poll indicated a change in their favor.
As I said from the start of this thing, there were only two polling agencies I trusted, Rasmussen and Survey USA. Rasmussen is one of the two that actually got everything right in this election as the article above shows.
Remember that for 2010 and 2012. I find it oddly suspicious that polling agencies that also serve as news outlets were so far off from reality. It was almost as if they were creating results to create news. Take it as you will.

I guess you lack a basic understanding of Marx's theory? Minimum wage, unions and economic regulation all stem from Marx.
#3997 Re: Guns N' Roses » Pre-order Chinese Democracy, get free single » 914 weeks ago
The way I see it, I already pre-ordered and paid for 2 copies of this album. I'll buy more copies if they have more versions available. So morality aside, I think legally I'm not in the wrong to have a copy of these songs now. Especially since you get a free digital download with the vinyl purchase. So I personally say fuck it. Download to your heart's content, so long as you've pre-ordered the album or will buy it on its release.

When I was in college, it was fun to point and roll my eyes at the devout marxist in his Che shirt. Now I realize that if I have children and assuming they share my beliefs, they'll be mocked and laughed at for supporting individualism and property rights.
#3999 Re: The Garden » 2008 Election results thread » 914 weeks ago
you misunderstand apparently. Polls on the east coast close 3 hours before they do on the west coast. When Pennsylvania is called 3 minutes after the polls close, do you honestly believe that doesn't have an affect out west? Let's say I was a McCain support on my way home from work. I had a busy day and still alot of' shit to do at home, but I want to make sure my vote counts. As I'm making my 45 min drive home, I turn on my Sirius radio to the political channel to get an update on what's going on. I hear at 5:03PM PST, that PA has been called for McCain. Now because I've been following the news, I know that based off of recent polls, a McCain win in PA was very important, though not required. However, since they called PA 3 minutes after the polls closed, it must be indicative of the entire election and Obam must be beating McCain with a stick. Now knowing this, why should i bother driving 20 minutes out of my way, standing in line for an hour, if I know it's already over. That is why I think the media has a responsibility not to start calling states until after all states have finished polling. It won't change the outcome and will allow more time to tally ballots so that projections are much more accurate than the dart throwing that has been seen in recent years.

Can't argue with that. I'll give the man the respect his position deserves. I refuse to be like those who opposed Bush the past 8 years and cry foul at every move he makes. The man made some pretty bold promises, and the majority of Americans believed him. I still believe in America, so I'll believe in Obama until he shows me otherwise.
