But is the economy happy with that when they have budgeted sales at around twice that?
They're pressing dollars like no tomorrow, yet oil is down and the dollar is up. Cash is being hoarded and the crunch soon becomes inevitable. 1.50 won't matter much when there's no money left in circulation to pay for it.
Increasing loans have to be paid back with a decreasing money supply. How long? Somebody is going to have to take a hit.

Obama said his plan would employ millions of people by "making the single largest new investment in our national infrastructure since the creation of the federal highway system in the 1950s." He said state officials would lose the federal dollars if they did not quickly use the money to repair highways and bridges.
According to the Federal Highway Administration, a 1991 final estimate of the cost of the interstate system put it at $128.9 billion, with a federal share of $114.3 billion. The estimate covered only the mileage (42,795 miles) built under the interstate construction program. Construction of the system began in 1956 under President Dwight Eisenhower.
They are talking about the NAFTA highway, and "public works" will pay for it. Check out the Trans Texas Corridor for an idea what they're aiming at.
The financial crisis is sure ushering in a lot of new ideas..

Oil went below 40, a day later it's back to 50 again. Been doing that for a couple of weeks now, perhaps longer, up and down. Always landing back around 50.
The prophecy continues..

With Axl on vocals, sure.:haha:

I like his punch line.
It was silly of me to assume I could provide you with something of completely no value whatsoever, waste your time and then attach such a large amount to it.

thats how it should be ..do get it done and move on...the general public will tire of if in a short period of time anyway
Come on, not all music needs to be done in a week. Think about all the great albums over the years that happened because somebody went that extra mile. Not even AFD was made as fast as they claim it was, many of those tunes had been on their mind for years. That's why debuts are often very good and very fast, they've been perfected in bedrooms, pubs and parks for years.

4 albums in 13 years? sounds about right...falls into the 3-4 year time frame quite nicely
and then dont forget the countless guest spots to fill the gaps
It's not shockingly low, but kinda weird since he doesn't seem to mind playing for a week or two then releasing stuff. I might be off, but the other members some to have been way more active, and we have stories of Slash pulling the plug when Duff and Izzy was ready to go. So it's not all fair to always use the "issue" card with Axl. Everybody has problems. That shouldn't have anything to say for the quality of the albums.

aint no laughing here dude.. we all serious fans
Good one.:haha:
I see what people mean in terms of lacking riffs. It's very different, but I think there's a lot of cool guitar all over, just more scattered perhaps. Better that than somebody trying to sound like the old band. So I see it more as "not fitting" as opposed to "lacking".

Strictly speaking it's more than 14 songs though. We can't know for sure how many or how finished, but considering how long CD has been "finished" I don't think it's far fetched to believe that there are two or so close to finished albums out there. Like I've said before, Baz might exaggerate but he doesn't pull shit straight out the ass when he says he's heard 4 albums of material. The GN'R camp have been pretty consistent with that over the years too. If we set recording date at around 97 that's pretty even with most bands, especially bands late in their careers.
CD didn't take 17 years to make, but it took 17 years to release it. Major difference there.
I think a collection of songs from the ex-members would make a decent album, but the main problem is the lack of highlights. The vocalists are boring and the arrangements stale. The last part is one of the things I cherish the most in GN'R and I think Axl honored it well by keeping things a bit fresh in terms of structure and sound.
VR, Loaded, Snakepit, they all feel like "middle albums". The kind of stuff you throw out there on a limb. I think VR is appropriate to compare with since it is obviously an attempt from the ex-members to try and restart what they did in GN'R. Name is the same, album name references Axls band, the sound and type of music is pretty similar, the band set up is the same as classic gn'r. Loaded and Snakepit are a little less serious on their part it seems. Something they did for a good time. VR was an effort to build something, and at least subconsciously for some of them to challenge Axl.
Have Slash only done 4 proper albums since GN'R? That guy must have really been fucked up. I read it in his book and all, but I never thought about it that way.

I'm no fan, you got that right, but there are a couple of good tunes. I don't think it's all crap, but as a whole I could very well consider it a tragedy in terms of potential and effort.

polluxlm wrote:I'm not saying what VR put out is crap,
umm, yeah you did.. they carried the gnr name remember and you havent said a nice thing so far about Vr.
make your mind up
No I didn't, and there's no need for this animosity. I can go posts without saying a good thing about GN'R too. Got nothing to with my overall opinion on a band. I have made my mind up, it's just not as black and white as you want it to be.
