If it was about health your government wouldn't have given him an exemption and a visa to begin with. Did they just forget? No, this was planned from the start

Nah dude you don't realise what a shit show the aussie government is.

Won't go into it in depth but basically we're over regulated with local, state and federal government. Then half the time the feds and the states are different political parties. So in usa terms think democrat state leader and republican president. 1/4 of what they do is about getting reelected, 1/4 of what they do is just to make the other team look bad, 1/4 of what they do is because they actually honestly believe it
s good and 1/4 of what they do is because it's a huge bureaucratic machine and no one knows what is happening and they don't care and even if they did care they have to follow some system that says not to care.

I can't explain it well, but basically if you know Australia, someone read something off a form that was written badly, and someone who half cares half read it, and applied what it said on the form even though it makes no sense, then someone else who doesn't care did whatever and 95% of the time that's cool but then occasionally shit fucks up and everyone has to act like what they do is actually legitimate and not a massive waste of time and so suddenly they get a call from someone up the chain who is freaking out and they reverse it.

That they fucked up is the most believable thing in the world if you live here dude. I mean I love this country but seriously lets just say the best and brightest don't go into government administration and those that are clever are plotting a future where they are rich.

The simplest answer here is the rules didn't make a lot of sense in the first place cos they were written on the fly, then the government had an agenda of making the tennis happen to keep people happy and make the state lots of $, the feds want to open up cos they realised people were getting mad at the state government for lockdowns and cos $, so everyone was happy to green light it - until someone in the media noticed it was massively hypocritical and bullshit and made a big deal out of it. So suddenly  the government is on our side and wants to fix it cos it's an election year and they want to do whatever will keep people happy. Especially if it helps them not notice the other government fuck ups that are monumental.

Like I wont go into it. But basically our governments have fucked up both sides. Like if you want lockdown left wing stuff with 85 genders. Government fucked you. If you want right wing freedom shoot your gun for the virus. Government fucked you. It's an election  year and they find themselves having pissed off literally everyone. So like they will do literally anything now to stay in power. Which is corrupt and fucked but yeah i don't think there's as much as a plan it's just a bunch of people winging it and doing whatever they smell will be popular. Your conspiracy as such gives them more credit than they deserve IMO.

Anyways, that's my 2c. Apologies if I came off a touch agressive in the previous posts. It's not directed at you personally, it's just a pretty stressful time here. smile

It's about health with a side order of we're sick of bullshit here.

You call an ambulance in Melbourne now and none fucking comes.

Because everyone is fucking sick, or looking after someone who is fucking sick, or doesn't want to expose someone else in their household to getting fucking sick and so there's just no one to do half the essential fucking shit that needs doing.

Basically none of us wanted to do a lockdown, lots of us didn't wanna go get a needle, lots of them were forced into getting a needle, you can't get half the basic fucking shit you need at the supermarket. Right after setting up a bunch of draconian anti-australian shit none of us liked the government then went full fucking reverse and just went "fuck it. call us if you don't die" and fucked off to literally watch the cricket while there's no supply of vaccine, tests, hospitals, or you know...fucking food in the motherfucking shops.

Oh and lets not forget china punishing us economically for the crime of mentioning that maybe it might be worth humanity learning how this happened in the first place so it doesn't happen again...

Then some rich halfwit tennis clowns waltzs into this environment peddling the same anti-vax bullshit, the same facebook horsehit that most of us have already lost friends over and that is one of the reasons the fucking ICU is full....and...so... when a bunch of other blokes asks why there seems to be a different set of rules for rich people, why they were made to get jabs but this guy isn't...the clown...gets his dad to wind up a fucking diplomatic international incident as if his fucking race had anything to do with it....

So let me quote the classic aussie phrase "yeah, nah". He can fuck off. It's got nothing to do with control and everything to do with not coming here and acting like a fucking wanker. In fairness to the guy - most of us are already shat off at each other or the government or both, so maybe he just picked the wrong month to act like a cunt.

Government remembered that everyone blames them for the fact that they fucked up every stage of this pandemic from the start....they realised they can't provide us with essential services or food or any infrastructure....but they can let the door hit some tennis wanker on the way out....so I guess...hey...maybe they wanted a cheap vote.

I thought the idea of that joke is to be as offensive as possible to shock people by being as socially taboo and tasteless as possible.

I'm not saying that's a good aim or that it's funny, but that's what the mechanism of the aristocrats joke is.

so...given that's the aim, I would assume he talks about pedophile stuff because it's almost universally considered disgusting and thus has an extremely high likelihood of achieving the requisite level of distaste in the majority of the audience.

I don't think it makes him more or less likely to personally be a pedophile than anyone else - just someone who understands what the public opinion is.

#404 Re: Guns N' Roses » DJ Ashba says he submitted “8 to 10” new Guns N' Roses songs to Axl » 226 weeks ago

I actually think these would be cool.

DJ's take on Motley Crue on Saints of LA when working with the band did well at capturing the feel of classic motley.

These songs as basic ideas but with Axl adding his flavour, and especially if slash came in and did his thing later over them....I could see that being a really fun retro sounding AFD style record.

Of course it won't happen cos it's GNR. But it could have lol.

I don't think it's a matter of him requiring it, rather they know and fear him. I have a friend who is kind of cautious around me because I got really mad at him once. I imagine with Axl this feeling is a lot stronger.

Yeah great point.

I actually think a lot of team brazil/beta weirdness is kinda like that.

Something like Axl has a day where he experiences a lot of rage for whatever reason, and the people around him try and work out what triggered it and adjust accordingly without him explicitly telling anyone they have to do anything.

At first it's probably simple stuff like keeping away someone who is annoying, or not telling him some bad news right after he just had a bad night's sleep, after you do that for a while there comes a point where you're making sure no one ever says anything irritating anywhere.

I don't think it has anything to do with potentially pissing off Axl which would fuck things up.

Doesn't it?

Why then is everyone who works for the organisation media shy?

By nature of their extreme fame Slash and Duff field gnr questions for life but they always answer with "it's fun, can't recall, don't know, don't ask, and I'm here to talk about fluff".

The other guys like Dizzy and Richard and Melissa, Frank etc really only take interviews when they have a side gig and get cornered then they usually make vague promises about how lots more happens than we know and it's all going to be bad ass until they are asked when and then they hear their mom calling outside and have to go.

The actual management seems to only talk to the media or make public statements to tell us what victims they are of outside circumstances or how desperately we all need to go fuck ourselves for the crime of liking the band.

Yet, weirdly, the minute people leave this organisation, like DJ and Bumble, and Gilby and whoever they tend to go back to sane and rational communications with fans and media.

So if it's not that Axl requires a culture of silence and secrecy around the band, then who does it come from?

#408 Re: Guns N' Roses » Slash: GNR has not written any new music, everything completed is CD 2 » 227 weeks ago

I like slash...but this whole "that's another mind set, and another interview" could it be any more evasive? lol.

It just gets old, can't blame him as we know the organisation has run like it for years, and besides it's kinda like the more he says publicly the more likely he is to say something wrong and set off some drama that causes it not to happen or whatever.

But the pandemic has really given me a different perspective on time, like sometimes I just think why do they make so much of all this - like it's a handful of old songs. They're super rich and super talented. Whatever they do they know some will hate it for no reason and others will love it for no reason, and others will kinda land in the middle. Don't know why they have to make it so hard.

That said, it was refreshing we got a couple of songs out this year, and I'd love to see more happen and he was talking like it will so I guess that's cool - it's just kinda embarrassing that he has to act like he's talking to the CIA when someone asks a simple question.

So you get to decide what’s in my best interest?

No, i'm not saying that.

I'm just saying the medical case for the vaccine is extremely strong. There's good evidence it was very effective against the original strain, and useful to a lesser degree against some of the newer variants, there's also very good evidence that even in cases where it failed to stop infection outcomes are less severe.

So i just don't really understand why people would want to reject that, especially here where it's free and we got a good look at the results of the rest of the world having it first so we know it's safe.

To me it's like if the government wanted to give me free money and I told them to go fuck off. Like sure - i CAN and i have the right to and I shouldn't be made to - but why would I want to do that to myself?

I mean sure if there's some subjective reason one thinks the vaccine is terrible then whatever....but that's where it gets odd to me that it's surprising to me given all the data and the global consensus is that the major issue turned out to be people not wanting it. Like to me we're really lucky we live in an age where we could make a vax.
