#4281 Re: The Sunset Strip » The Dark Knight: Joker IMAX Intro Spoiler » 914 weeks ago
Yep it's going to kick ass. And I highly doubt the prologue will show up on the Internet unless WB releases it themselves. Fan reports claim that they took people's cell phones, etc. from them as they entered the IMAX theaters to see it. Granted, these were advanced screenings. I am hoping to see it with I Am Legend on the 14th. It'll be interesting to see if they have that kind of tight security at every IMAX screening. The good news for everyone is that the regular version of I Am Legend will feature the first real trailer for The Dark Knight. Earlier this summer they had a trailer that was nothing more than a tease. The only thing we got was audio of Joker's voice. No visuals at all other than a light show with the Bat symbol exploding and turning into a Joker card. This time around, the trailer will likely have footage. This trailer will 100% be released on the Internet in high def quality, etc. like every other movie trailer. But if you want the prologue, I wouldn't bet on it showing up.
#4282 Re: Guns N' Roses » How will the delays effect C.D.'s sales? » 914 weeks ago
It's going to have pretty craptastic sales. The entire industry is in a free fall right now and that will continue for the foreseeable future. For what it's worth, it'll probably be the most listened to album of this decade thanks to illegal downloading, although obviously not the most purchased.

No, its not him Atari. Tejastech was on the Batman bandwagon long before ER was.:haha:
LOL, ok. I am GNRfan2008 at those other forums (CD.com, MYGNR, HTGTH) although I don't visit any of them anymore. I've been on the Batman bandwagon since 1989. Saw Tim Burton's Batman as a 3 year old in the theater!

LOL. Reading this board is hilarious. I like the community we have here. Reality is a great thing to pay attention to, and it seems like this community has more reality-based viewpoints than any of the other GN'R forums. And there's no censorship here either, which is great. As funny as it is to make fun of Axl for being the pathological liar that he is, it's also going to be funny if he ever releases it. We'll all go from the biggest "haters" to worshiping him again. We're a fickle bunch.

...And karma for the kick-ass av!
Thanks! I gave you karma too, cool avvy in your own right.
One thing I know, unlike with Chinese D., is that The Dark Knight will be coming out in July 2008. No doubt about it.

Yeah I'm getting to the point where I don't like physical CD's anymore. However, when Chinese D. comes out I will likely buy it on CD so I can have the booklet and such.
As far as CD goes, I'll definitely buy it in physical form. At least a CD and hopefully a vinyl if they put one out.
Anyways.... usually I don't care about artwork with mp3s, but if someone turns up a good place I can download high quality artwork for this album, I'd appreciate it. I just made my purchase!
The artwork comes in the files already. If you selected iTunes as your player of choice, it adds the songs automatically to iTunes. The artwork is embedded in the files. It's high quality shit (500 x 500 or 600 x 600...one of those). Here's a screencap from my iTunes listening to Angel Down:

Well, at least things are moving towards higher bit rates and eventually lossless I hope. But Amazon is a better deal than iTunes. No tax, no DRM, and lower prices. 89 cents if you want to just buy songs by themselves.

tejastech08 wrote:I am currently looking at Amazon's mp3 store. 89 cents per song with no tax. Cool, it even tells you which songs Axl is on.
Axl is on the sample for "Back In The Saddle" so there's a free preview if anyone wants to hear it! You can hear him on "Love is a Bitchslap" sample too. I think I'm gonna download these 3 tracks. Actually, I might buy the whole album just to show support for Bach. He has been one of our only sources over the last year of ANYTHING about Chinese D and Axl. $8.99 for no DRM mp3's at 200+kbps quality. It's a good deal, especially with no tax while iTunes charges tax.
Thanks for the tip. Originally, I was just gonna go all around and look for this at a store today, but I believe I'll just get it now from this source.
Thanks again!
Yeah no prob. I've bought one other album from Amazon's mp3 store: The Wall. I had always wanted The Wall but didn't wanna pay the ridiculous prices at both iTunes and for the CD version. Amazon sells their top 100 mp3 albums, regardless of whether they are double albums or not, at $8.99 or lower. In fact, it's STILL in the top 100 on there. LOL. Makes sense though, you save like $15 by buying it from them through the mp3 store.

Angel Down is #69. How appropriate.

tejastech08 wrote:Folks, buy the mp3 version from Amazon.com. $8.99 with no sales tax and NO DRM unlike iTunes. Plus, it automatically adds the songs to iTunes for you. They are high quality too. The first track is VBR at 274 kbps. "Back in the Saddle" featuring Axl is VBR at 294 kbps.
