Holy crap!  I'm about to defend Fernando.  Not his fault.  It's technically not even Axl's fault.  If I remember correctly there is room for only one more song on CD.  So it's Axl's fault there is only 14 songs cause he was too chicken to add one more song.  But 16 or 17.  Just didn't fit.

I highly doubt Fernando ever got a disc of new gnr material and uploaded it to the internet, what good what that do for him?. But it has been proven by MSL that the first leaks he got from the guys in "fake spain" as he called it did in fact originate from Fernando. I cant blame Fernando, if I worked around Axl and had heard how great the new music was and my friends wanted to hear it, I would probably give at least one of them a disc, and people being who they are I know that if someone approached one of my friends and said "Hey ill give you something you really,really want for a couple of those songs" they would probably say "hell yeah".

Now as far as there only being 14 songs because Axl was too chicken,no.
I have always thought as ive said above the only reason we ever got CD was because of the leaks, and im a strong believer that if we wouldve gotten studio quality tracks of "the general,atlas shrugged, ides of march, silkworms...etc..." we wouldve had a very different looking CD, And I think we would be talking about the unheard songs such as TIL and Sorry. Maybe my theory is fucked, who knows. But thats just my strong feeling.

While it is a good example, its not exactly the same thing. She's a current artist, does what she wants, and has people starving for new material. While us GNR nerds debate Vince Neil commenting on a guitarist that's done nothing, her fans are going apeshit because she posted a 'tweet' last week about being "7 songs deep" into the recording of the new record.

Like Cornell, she's one of those "all action, little talk" artists.

Axl is tackling a different beast. The name GNR brings certain expectations. Can he hit the road playing a set comprised of 70-90% unheard material? Probably not, as people do expect certain songs. Could he up the average a bit? Sure.

If he had wanted to veer away from the oldies, he could have slowly phased in the new era and as the band evolved musically, the fan base would have adapted.

Its situations like that where going solo instead of having the GNR label around his neck would have done wonders, and yes I realize that's the deadest horse of all.

Oh please don't give me the whole "they played UYI songs well before those albums were out" excuse.  That was also 18 years ago before the internet, leaking songs, etc.  Playing new songs was a cool thing and would only be heard by the "fans" who attended the shows.  Nowadays it's a whole lot different.  Give me a more current example and I'll let that slide, but let's not reach back to 1991.

Again, Axl played the songs that were leaked.  If he had no balls or was afraid to play something new, why would he play those songs?  It wasn't written in stone that he had to play new songs.  He chose to play them, presumably because they were leaked, and he kept the other songs on CD to himself for the time being.  So again, we now have heard a full album's worth of material, and he's not gonna play any of it?  I find that hard to believe.

We won't know for sure until they actually get out on the road, but I like the chances of hearing some "other" songs being played.

yeah I like shotgun blues, get in the ring, and...wait for it....my world. All good tracks for certain moods.
