Always sad when people go that early.
That being sad, there are few men I have less respect for while he was alive. A paid liar.

PaSnow wrote:It's more of a cliche, but I meant this album could launch metallica into the U2, Aerosmith legendary category.
I thought Metallica reached that category years, years and even more years ago?
Guns N' Roses reached it with the Use Your Illusion records and Metallica did it Black Album - at least according to the general public.
I'd say that they reached it way before that.
You don't reach that category in 'your own time'. Bands like Boston, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi etc. all achieved massive success on multiple albums, but would you put them in the league of Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin (in terms of popularity, not quality)?
No, you need to show consistency for that type of status. You have to come back after a few bad years and show that you still got it, that you have the ability to move not only one generation, but two.
Bands like Zeppelin and The Beatles are exceptions. Their material was simply too great for people to forget them. If Metallica and Axl can achieve another smash hit in the next few years you'll see them doing Stones type of tours in 5 years time.
Aerosmith is not in that league btw. In the US perhaps, but over here they're just another american band.

Aren't those the same that was on the Shacklers Revenge list?

It is make or break, but even if it's not that good I'd still be a casual fan. I'm not & never really was a huge fan, but I think they were great. Plus, look at the Stones & Aerosmith. Do you think their fans should quit going to shows?? It happens, we get older, so do they.
Getting older is fine. I love seeing Stones and Aerosmith shows even though they're not what they used to be. It's about adapting the style. Metallica however seems lost in that they still perceive themselves to be as badass as they were in the heyday. Same thing can be said about Axl on certain songs.
The show I saw (Pink Pop, Holland) was 'alright', but mostly it gave me the feeling of a cash grab and a sense of not keeping up with their own material. I'm not a fan, but I like a handful of songs. This night they gave me nothing.
When we saw Rage Against The Machine the next day we could clearly see the difference in the bands will to perform, and they're not spring chickens anymore either.

I'm glad I'm not a fan of this band. Must be painful. What I saw on stage some weeks ago was way over the hill. How can Master Of Puppets sound so stale?

These four + The Blues are all pretty equal in quality.
Madagascar for the simple reason that the others are slightly better. Very slightly.
#4439 Re: The Garden » YouTube Ordered To Hand Over User Details! » 931 weeks ago
I don't think so BH. They're not going to sue the individuals for watching it (similar to when they sued people who downloaded 30,000+ songs or whatever). I think they are forcing Google to hand over the information so they will have documented "how many users wathced their clips and how many times they watched them" This would be relevant to the amount of damages in lost advertising Viacom could have had. I agree it's BS, because Viacom didn't have clips up on their own site at the time, or it wasn't very popular at least. However, possibly youtube & Google were making $ off advertising. So say $.05 per play, video played 500,000 times, well you get the idea.
The IP's are requested because advertisers make a difference between views and unique views (ie, not the same person watching it 40 different times). Youtube is a great site, but they need to work with the copywright holders & share revenue if they want to move forward. Otherwise, it's going to end up with a bunch of morons on their cell phone taping themselves & their friends for 40 seconds.
That's all well and good, but what happened to privacy? People seem to think it's ok because it's the internet, but really it's nothing different than going through your drawers or opening paper mail.
Viacom may think they're losing money, but what does that got to do with us? Sue google all they want, but stay the fuck away from the users.
Fuckin' multicorporations. They say jump, everybody say 'how high?'. Oh dear, we only made a 100 trillion last year, what a crime!!!

It's pretty freakin' rare though. I haven't even heard it discussed on buckethead.tk. You'd have to dig deep to fake that.
Agreed. It's probably real, or was at some point. There's no attention seeker wanting credit for it as far as I can see.
