CD is not an epic album like some of the guys working with Axl said. And I do not like Hinder or Daughtry. And even if someone would what does it change? Don't mean that just cause you like Hinder you'll think CD sucks. And the reason I do not like CD ain't because Slash isn't on it. Although he may have helped but even Slash couldn't have made CD epic. CD is generally not good because like Buzz said it is overly produced badly mixed (Listen to Better closely you can actually hear the parts that were pasted). CD is not good because the songs were worked on so much it lacks feelings. Only song that I actually get the feeling Axl had was This I love but that is only the vocal parts. The guitar parts lack feelings. That is my opinion. To me CD is an album that is full of songs that had tons of potential but that potential was killed by working on them too much and having them recorded by 1200 different musicians. And yes I am exaggerating on the number of musicians at least I hope.

There is a festival this week in my town. Anyways there was a stand selling t-shirts of bands. One of the bands they had t shirts of was GNR. Now what is funny is that the front of the t-shirt was Axl and Slash and the back was an old band picture. Ain't it funny that even today, Axl needs Slash and the former members to promote his band?

Agree that it is a decent interview in general. The question about fav GNR song. I hate the "YOU haveNt heard it yet". Well stop teasing and fucking release it! Seriously he should've stuck with Chinese and just say that for other fav GNR track. Too many to mention just one. Less teasing.

My problem with DJ using GNR for publicity is this keeps tarnishing the GNR name. Although one has to wonder if it cand be tarnished more than it is now.

The hat reminds me of British singer Jamiroquai, I don´t find it very slahy.
He can make his hair grow long, curl it and where any hat as far as I'm concerned. Who cares? Obviously some care but I don't. And I do not see it as a Slash thing. And even if it is. I mean could be that Slash his a guitarist that inspires him.

Seriously guys...we should at least be fair to people...let's face it...when band members say nothing (like most of gnr does) about gnr - we give them a dose of "they don't respect the fans or care about the band".
Meanwhile a ton of people compalin that band members don't appear to show any membership or loyality to the band and are just session musicians. When richard or bumble do their other gigs everyone announces that there is no gnr etc.
So here comes DJ ashba, he does a chat(more than 1/2 the band does) - and gets flamed - and he proudly is displaying his affiliation with GNR both on his website and in the media ads like this one....and all anyone does is shit on him for it.
I'm not saying you have to love him just cos he is in GNR. Myself I did look up his playing and am excited by what he brings back to the band - but i can see some people wont be.
But this rubbish that he isn't a real member just cos we're in a silent period...when we know he's rehearsed with the band, and the band spoke well (bumble) of the results....and when he hinted he might write with GNR in the chat....yet people are saying he's the same as a roadie or fan who goes to the show....come on....you dont have to nutswing...but surely the guy deserves a fucking chance.
He uses the GNR name to promote whatever it is he is doing and yet hasn't played a not with them (officially). By that I mean a show and or an album. He uses the GNR name in hopes that he can get a couple more people coming to whatever he does (I don't even know what it is he's promoting). And if you can't see what's wrong here well....

Axlin08 wrote:I don't give a crap about the top hat. Slash doesn't have a copyright on the look, no different than when Matt Sorum was wearing a bandana like Axl, no one said anything.
But the pimping himself out with the GN'R name... lame dude. WAY too soon.
Why don't I start advertising myself as "Jack Steele from Guns N' Roses", simply because I attended one of their shows.
You are ANGRY tonight.
God forbid the guy tries to promote Guns N' Roses. Somebody's gotta do it. And do you think DJ TOLD the magazine what to write? Do you think DJ told Blabbermouth to promote his chat as "GNR guitarist DJ Ashba"? How is HE pimping himself out as GNR's lead guitarist again? I think I missed that part. Any of your worries, concerns, complaints should be taken up with the media. Just sayin'.
And I think he looks a lot more like Mick Mars (in his prime) than Slash.
Would you mind pointing me where does this advertise GNR please? Who's DJ Ashba? And more importantly who will go "Oh DJ! I gotta see him! Man this guy will bring GNR to the next plateau"? And I do agree with Axlin. I think DJ gave the media what to write. Dick does it, Franck does it, Ron does it. Everybody that has joined Axl in the last years except Bucket and maybe Robin does it. Why? Cause they can't sell shit just by their name. So publicity for GNR? Please. If this was Vai, Zakk Wylde or any one remotely known I'd agree with you. In this case it's pimping out. And News flash DJ. Pretty soon everybody in the music bizz will have been in GNR so it ain't that special.
#478 Re: Guns N' Roses » So where does GN'R stand right now and what is the current news? » 878 weeks ago
As if we'd stop caring now. The sensible time to bail was like maybe 1997 - anyone still here at this point is in for life!
As a fan you want the most possible from the subject of your fandom - so on that level sure I hate the delays, wish tours were more often and albums droped every few months.
But no matter how much those things suck for us, I'm always going to be pumped when Axl gives us something new.
Was pumped before CD. Cd to me was a huge let down. And no I don't care anymore. Got what I wanted and that's CD. I always expected nothing would happen after CD's release if it would get released. And so far Axl is proving me right.

If i'm still here, remind me to blow my fuckin' brains out.
Thx
*lol* Well we haven't left yet didn't we? Seriously since the mess that's called Chinese Democracy was released Axl has become irrelevant to me. Come here out of pure habit.

It would be cool as fuck for VR to show up with a new singer, and see Dizzy back there playing keys.
I'd probably laugh so hard, i'd stroke out and die.
Would be funny. The Dizzy would probly be a cancer as well. Surprised Axl still talks to Baz.
