He looked totally in character. He didn't seem 'actually' pissed.
Not sure I agree with that. Body language to me looks pretty angry.
My opinion is something was legit pissing him off big time but he was doing his best not to go into a meltdown and just ignore it / soilder onwards anyway.
song started immediately after the rant as if it were rehearsed so..
unless you can find him signaling to start the song......no way
my guess is he was re-exploring something they arlready talked about
consider how he got mad at rio and it took several songs to rebound
here he went right into the whistling without blinking

when is the last time that anything, other than sweet child o' mine itself, sounded remotely like sweet child and charted well?......
never
whether it is the best single or not, like axlin said way back in another thread, the public likes what it is told to like - what is pushed and promoted.
had it been released right after cd song with a video it might have done much better and the album may not have dropped at that point.
the question/s then is:
was better the right second single?
or was this a coincidence and the drop was a residual effect and it was cd that was a bad first single?
were they both bad singles?
personally, i think they should have first released twat or catcher - which sound more like the gnr people grew up to.
if you are trying to reinvent your sound then you release something that sounds more modern.

i'm guessing that helps the venue sell more tickets.
many of the "for sures" end up getting their tickets as soon as possible
then the "maybes" are coaxed in to going when they see tickets available the night of the concert 20 yards from the stage.

No way in hell to even know that.
i see how it is:
your example is just fine when based on you and your friend
mine and russ's is no good, although based on reviews and many more fans, because there is no way to validate it... and i'm to piss off.
did i get that right?

I know of only one person who bought CD and he didn't even know it had been released. He saw it in the store thought "a new Guns N' Roses cd?" and bought it. No listening to streams, no wondering about it, no nothing. he saw it and bought it. I guarantee you most "curious" purchaces happend this way.
You know how many times I've seen a new relase I didn't know even existed and just bought it out of curiosity? A LOT! Most people didnt' give a flying fuck to stream the album or to google search it or to search out what chain the album was being sold at. Most purchases likely came from impulse buys when people saw the damn thing in the new release section.

Either way, the fact remains that it's a good album and no amount of wishing on the part of people that didn't want it to succeed will change that.
The fact remains that whether it was a good album or not is subject to the listener and no amount of wishing on the part of the people who insist it was a great success will change that.
but if the majority of people that heard it were subjectively favorable to it
and the majority of reviews were subjectively favorable to it.
then the reasons for it's underwhelming sales can objectively be pointed away from the album itself.
and pointed at several factors, of which many have listed, that doomed the sales of the album.
war wrote:i havent heard one person say cd sold as much as i was hoping it would.
cd failed for about 8 or 9 reasons. why some of you want to turn a blind eye to those reasons or think it comes down to one reason is beyond me.
if they do things differently for cd2 it'll do as well as cd1 if not better.
irregardless, it would make sense financially for the label to release an album that they've already spent thousands (maybe millions) of dollars on and can recoup those costs and turn a minimum of a small profit from.
I agree with everything you said, except I don't believe CD2 would/will outdo CD. I just don't see things changing that much as far as promotion, push, personal appearances, interviews, music videos, etc. I think all, or at least some of those things would have to occur for sales to be better, especially considering album sales get fewer and fewer by the day. How many ROCK albums have sold as well, if not better than CD since its release anyway? I'd be surprised if it's more than a handful.
you're absolutely right. i was meaning it'll do similar sales - ballpark.
where you are wrong is the promotion piece.
touring succesfully, which they have been doing a lot of the last few years, will help get the potential buyers' attention and peak interest in a new album.

A short message as a hack makes it easier to appear real though.
A long message and you know people like me will start looking into the sentance structure and type of english used...
If the IP was the same I wonder if that means someone in the crew did it? Like someone on tour that could sneak a second on his laptop or something similar?
ha ha - nice
ron and dj are like "that fucker's gonna release our material whether he wants to or not!"
