Dammit Axl. I'm a doctor, not a guitar player.

Muppet Show. I think I could have passed for one of the old guys in the balcony...

Should've done the guy a favour and just shot him
That's what happened in TN over the weekend. A guy was threatening to commit suicide, so the cops shot him 6 times. How kind of them.

Well in fairness, some people were really looking forward to those rock band files. I'm not one of them, so this batch doesn't do much for me. But I'm sure some people are excited about this.
I know some people are excited and that's great. But even those people would be much more excited to hear something new rather than the 13th version of TWAT. I really, really like the song, but I'm not at all interested in another version of it. That's what I meant. Even I would be excited to hear something new. I may or may not like it, but I'd be excited about hearing it.

But then there are those of us who really do like CD though.
Really liking it is fine. A few people might legitimately think it's the 2nd best (or best even) album of the decade so far. I am 100% behind anyone liking the album. I just didn't expect there to be enough people that liked it that much to have it make it that far even at a GnR site.
CD wouldn't even get nominated at an impartial site. I just think overall we're a smarter site than to rank CD #2. Maybe I'm wrong.

I wasn't paying attention to this thread, but CD came in second? Really? Even at a GnR site, I'm shocked by this. I can think of a few albums that came out last year that were better than CD, and that's just looking at the year CD came out. CD wouldn't even make the list to be considered at a non-GnR site. I'm disappointed in us...we're more musically intelligent than that.
#4859 Re: The Sunset Strip » Vote for the 20th slot in 90s elimination » 878 weeks ago
I voted Dookie, though I like Colour and the Shape a lot more. Dookie was a defining album for the 90s and you couldn't watch MTV for an hour without seeing Longview or Basket Case playing for the longest time. It may not stand the test of time as a musically great album (obviously it isn't), but it ushered a new type of alternative music that was lighter than Nirvana or PJ. Without Dookie, we may never have gotten The Offspring, blink-182, and a lot of one hit wonders like My Own Worst Enemy . None of it is the greatest music out there, but the music was fun and it was a nice distraction from the heaviness of much of the grunge/alternative era.

Even if something comes of it, what are the odds of it being worth any excitement? At best, we're likely to see demos of songs we already have. At worst, we could find out that these mystery songs are as weak as most of CD is. Either way, are you sure you really want to know?
