I don't know who knows what or who has what, and to some extent, I don't care.  What I do know is that almost everybody in this thread is handling themselves with class and dignity except for 1 person and a couple aliases of that person.  With that being the only real facts along with the knowledge that msl has delivered in the past and the other person hasn't, I choose to give msl the benefit of the doubt and ignore everything the other person has to say.

In Axl's defense though

Dealing with a bunch of drug addicts and alcoholics when u are clean is a fucking chore. So I can sympathize with what he had to endure

Was Axl really clean?  I know he wasn't as fucked up as everybody else was, but I don't recall him being a saint either.

Seriously, come on, after all this time, it doesn't fucking matter. Who cares about what the name is, who's/what's relevant, who's feelings are hurt, who wants who back, who's in the minority. I mean who really cares?

Well, I mean, besides, Buzz 16

All I care about is that material from 98-04. To me, that's more important than anything they release with the line up they have now, or some fantasy reunion scenerio.

I don't even care anymore.  If they get together for a cash grab, I'm there.  If they never do, I'm fine with that too.  CD's complete failure ensured that I won't have to worry about the band I love being tarnished.

I didn't bring it up, I'm telling you why it keeps getting brought up.  I'm sick of talking about it too, which is why I haven't been posting a lot lately.

Gilby did say something about Axl being crazy when I saw him a couple weeks ago...I'm not sure how much they really made up.  I wish I could remember exactly what he said.

There might be 1000 people stoked about new material from a band that never really existed (the 2002 lineup).  There are millions that would prefer the AFD or UYI band touring on the hits over anything new (not saying it's right, but it's true).  You can't really be surprised when a thread talking about new music mentions someone preferring to hear one of the other incarnations of this brand.  Odds are that unless you prefer the AFD/UYI days, you are in the minority.

I remember Axl Rose being famous for being a dickhead back in the early 90's, he was one of the most disliked people in pop culture.
I reckon he is sore about Slash more than anyone else because Axl has lived a very quiet unassuming life in the last 15 years or so, and he probably hoped to leave behind that stigma of being a spoilt premadonna douchebag.
But Slash stayed in the public eye over those years, giving interviews and blaming Axl for him not being in GN'R anymore, and basically feeding the fire and constantly reminding the public (or suggesting) who the bad guy in GN'R was.
Therefore Axl was never really allowed to leave that persona behind, no matter how many years he spent in seclusion and out of the public eye. I'll bet he has a deep resentment of Slash because of that, it must be tough being a middle aged guy and the media still chastising you for some of your behaviour in your twenties. All of these "Axl is an asshole" headlines over the years have not came from anyone he has worked with post 94, and thats really hard on the guy. I dont blame him for being sore with the media either, they are the ones who kept regurgitating those old tales which basically demonised him and made sure he remained a hate figure.
I think we all know Axl is a sensitive guy, so all the negative comments and sly digs made at his expense over the last 15 years or so when he has been living that quiet lifestyle, must really have hurt him and some of the wounds will have went deeper than others.

Seriously?  Look Slash said some bad stuff (not a lot) about Axl over the years.  Axl has done far more to damage his own reputation than anything Slash has ever said about him has.

I find it interesting that people think the Axl bashing is going on at a high level lately.  I'm one of the biggest "Axl haters" (if you want to call it that) here and I hardly ever post, and when I do, it's not usually about Axl.  I think my last post about him was somewhat complimentary.  I think the album and the lack of success speaks for itself...I don't feel a need to pile on anymore.

I also think Slash is far from being a favorite on this board, but his contributions to GnR are treated with respect here more than they are at other boards where people are attacked for saying anything nice about him.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person here defending Slash (obviously an exaggeration).  This place is pro BH if it's anything, but I really think it's the fairest board out there.  If Axl's getting shit on, he probably deserves it.  That really goes for anybody.

It's a good disguise...Matt has said Chinese Democracy was 'cool' and a 'toe tapper'...:haha:

Oh.  I guess I'm not Matt then.  Too bad, that could have been cool for a little while at least.
