I may see if I can meet BBF while I'm there to see Loaded at Summerfest. He may not do it since I'm going to see Duff instead of him, but you never know...

But Ron owns BH.
OK - I don't think I can do this with a straight face.

To me his finest hour with the band is his playing on some of the CD songs, I thought he added some good stuff to them. Yet most of his public attention in GNR came from his live peformance of mostly older songs. So yeah - that kinda sucks for him.
We can't really speculate further as we don't know his actual motivation for leaving. Was trents offer just too good? Was there a secret Axl/Robin fight? Was he just sick of waiting? No idea.
The problem is you can't blame DJ for not being Robin - before he plays.
Just as one shouldn't have blamed Robin for not being slash - until he played. If Axl and Slash can't sort their shit out that isn't robin's fault. And if Robin and Axl can't work out a deal to get him back then that's not DJ's fault.
I was open to giving Robin a chance...i just didn't like that he replaced Slash once i heard his rearrangment of the parts. Likewise I'm open to giving DJ a shot....if he gets up there and plays the Slash/Robin parts in a way I think is disrespectful or worse than the records then I'll be the first to say he sucks.
But right now...all we know is that he's a competent guitarist with an interesting history of la rock stuff, which makes me look forward to giving him his shot to impress me!
i speculate there was a fight between robin and axl about when the album coming out. robin wanted it out in 2006. axl wanting continuing perfecting it. that was the end of robin. the shaft. thanks, axl
Yes, THANK YOU AXL!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going to become the resident Ron fan. I don't think we have a hardcore Ron guy and he's always been cool in my book for the way he treats the fans and respects the old band. Plus it will be fun to go back and forth with the only looney Finck guy left on the planet.

Robin didn't really do much for the fans apart from play poorly for them when they paid...

1984 was the first cassette I bought. It is still one of my favorite albums even with the damn synths.

I might be the only person that can list White Zombie and Peter, Paul, and Mary - and amazingly enough, it was in roughly the same year.

that's what robin deserves and more in guns n' roses now that the album is finally out to the public
What Robin deserves is exactly what he got. He deserves to be somewhere he'll be appreciated instead of ridiculed. He deserves to be somewhere that his tone and playing style would be appreciated.
Nobody deserves anything from CD. Everybody got paid and that's all it was about. Robin got what he deserved from GnR - his paycheck...that is everything he deserved from his years in GnR.

Nobody is stopping BBF or Richard from trying to make a name for himself. Maybe the others should have done or should do the same.

If I remember correctly, Bon Jovi dropped off the face of the earth for awhile. I think they released a couple albums that didn't do very well, then came back with that song that was included on one of the Madden Football games several years ago. Since then, they've been back (though not as big as they were in the 80s), but I don't think they were immune to it. I just think they survived it.
