SixxAM is ONLY known because it was Nikki's band. 99.9% of humanity couldn't even tell you Nikki was in the band, so how many do you think could tell you who DJ is?

I don't know - I've seen countless threads where I've said the album was a failure and people have pointed to positive media reviews as proof that the music was good. I never called anybody on it because I assumed that such reviews actually existed. So were there positive media reviews or weren't there? If there were, then people were told. Buzzsaw those reviews certainly DO exist. I could send a bunch of links your way if you want. My point is, who outside of these forums are going to read a positive review from various internet sites? I certainly don't go around searching for reviews of other bands CD's, I can't imagine others would. I brought up "Rolling Stone" because that's a pretty major music magazine and they gave CD 5 stars. Your average music fan might come across that one. But I doubt the average Joe would've done the research to find there were PLENTY of positive reviews out there. They'd rather listen to the Dick and Harry Morning Zoo and believe whatever they say. They make fun of Axl and refuse to play the new songs because "they suck", and the listeners buy into it.
OK - so people were told to like it and they didn't. So that squashes the theory tha it failed because people were not told to like it.
The music isn't that good. That doesn't mean everyone hates it and I'm glad you love it, but the music just isn't that good. No amount of PR by Axl can overcome that.

I don't know. Plenty of people told people to like it whether it was the media reviews or people on the internet. Either everybody ignored them, or they weren't impressed. Either way, people were told to like it, they just didn't.

The fact that Pitman is the MVP sums up exactly why CD was a failure.

Wait until you get GH GnR. It will make what VH did seem kind.

At least somebody thinks so. Now all you need to do is get Axl on board with your way of thinking.

If Slash still has a reunion in the back of his mind, it wouldn't hurt him to try and put his best foot forward for a change. If the 4 do write together on the one song and are able to capture something killer then I think that's a positive.
Whilst I like VR and the 2 albums, since Slash left Guns, for me, there has only been glimpses of his brilliance here and there. But unfortuantely there is been a lot of "run of the mill" stuff in between. Hardly inspiring if you are Axl sitting on the sidelines wondering whether you ever want to work again with this guy. In fact didn't Axl say words to that effect in one of his online chats?
I would say to Slash, get all 4 to play on the one song. BUT only if you are able to come up with something good, if it doesn't click don't force it to happen.
It's not like the 15 year album was all that good either. Let's face facts: both have been subpar without the other.

^nice Buzz. Real nice...
I'm just so used to pitman, not chris. It really wasn't meant to be an insult.
