#41 Re: Guns N' Roses » AXL In ACDC??? » 484 weeks ago
There's no way in hell they are opening for GNR. 1988 Axl, or anyone on earth, would have a hell of a time trying to sing for an opener and a headliner on the same night, ten times. No way.

You're gonna see Axl and Slash on the same stage. I have to wait for Atlanta, and it doesn't bother me in the least. Whether its the first show, 4th, 27th, its something I never thought I'd see in my lifetime, ever.

You may be onto something... there is a "CD" in the middle of ACDC.. lol

I think viability goes beyond just whether they can manage to work together - frankly after all this time, I think that's probably a minor issue amongst the guys. Viability lies in whether Axl can return to 2006 ish form. That said, if he's seriously considering the ACDC thing, you have to assume he's back in shape and expects to be able to put on a hell of a show. Let's hope so. I saw him twice in 2011 and both were great performances. Its been pretty hit and miss over the years though, and something as big as this reformed GNR requires Axl be the Axl we all know is in there.

I'm as excited as anyone that this is finally happening, but I'll be the one to say it - No show is worth those prices. If you're absolutely loaded, sure why not, but I can not imagine why the average person would bother. It'll be all over the internet anyhow.

Only in GN'R would the least important spot with multiple options fuck the whole thing up. Lol

Nobody "fakes" a deep voice. As someone with a really deep voice - if I talk to someone I just met, it probably gets mentioned 98% of the time and its really annoying - I can tell you that we have a very wide range of speaking tones. It changes a great deal even within the same conversation. My voice is very similar to Axl's voice in the Famous Last Words interview with Kurt Loder, for example, probably slightly lower.

I really hope that's true about Izzy. The thought of them making new music with Izzy is amazing. As for Adler, maybe they make some deal with him to do AFD songs at some shows.. I'd really hope they find someone better to make new music with. The guy is a total fuck up who is stroked out on top of it.. surely they all know better.

Yes. The only thing that really matters is Duff and Slash. It seems like we're moving the goal posts here when we used to always debate Slash being back in the band and that's who Axl needed. I don't remember too many Adler debates. The guys rejoined the band. Plain and simple. Everyone and their mother should have known Axl was never going to reunite the original or UYI lineup.
Not only is Slash back, he is going to be playing on new material with Axl. Awesome stuff. Its a band, not a cash grab tour.
That last statement is what really excites me. It seems pretty clear that this iteration of the band is just that - a band. One intended to produce, and that is more than I would have ever dreamed of.
