So the show in São Paulo happenned yesterday.
Gotta say I was impressed by Axl's trying giving it all. However, he has some ups and downs and his voice was cracking often. Out of all my GNR concerts, this rates as the worse but it wasn't as bad as Rio 2022.
The show could be trimmed to a 2 hour GREAT rock concert, instead it's a 3 hour average show because it drags for too long.
It's easy to see that the band is just going through the motions and that's kinda sad.

He’s a grown man. He fired every other manager. I’ve seen him get her (and the others) ass in public for not doing something the way he wanted (“You want to be the manager? Then manage this.”)
Axl reformed the band on his own, I don’t see Beta and family having any say in that.

Honestly I can totally see Beta manipulating Axl, as she did to put her family to manage Axl/Band.

Booking them to play VMAs without even just a single and music video ready to go - that's a terrible idea. Following that up with a tour when you still have nothing ready? Also terrible idea.
Probably it was then that the record company funds started to dry and they needed the money to fund additional sessions and finish it..

I think 2009 and “the forever tour” happened because he needed money. I think money may have played some role in ‘16, I think they were offered Cochella and a big pay day and that’s what spurred the Slash call, but there was nowhere else to go with the *new* lineup. And I’m certain he always anticipated a reunion.
And yeah, he pushed himself with Axl/DC
Yeah, 2009 up to 2014 may very well be about money.
And maybe the reunion was supposed to be a one-shot Coachella thing for the pay day. Even if it was only a 2016 thing it would make sense...
What I don't get is the need to keep pushing it this far... What is the motivation?
