I'm telling you... there's something about Melissa & Axl.

Every chick I know brings it up too. There's something up there. Body language galore.

Is this a sign that Axl/DC is a go for round 2?

That was pretty much confirmed at the end of AC/DC's NA tour in the Fall of last year.

Brian is not coming back. Axl is officially the full-time new lead singer of AC/DC.

As far as a new album... I also think that there's more of a chance of seeing an AXL/DC album before a new GN'R album. Low risk for Axl. High risk for Angus, but I don't think Angus gives a shit. Angus looks at it as he's secured the biggest rock lead singer in the world by sheer fluke, and he's gonna captialize on it. Fuck that Brian, Cliff, Malcolm, & Rudd ain't there. Axl has to be marketed by Angus in order to maintain the brand and the best way to do that is a new album + new Axl/DC tour.

The better question is -- why Axl write it. It took Axl ages to write Chinese, according to multiple sources, and can he get in the simplistic headspace to pin a proper AC/DC album.

Or

Will it be basically the new GN'R album, except with Angus Young on guitar & Chris Slade on drums?

#44 Re: Guns N' Roses » Steven Adler Reddit AMA » 437 weeks ago

Haven't posted really since I saw my show in July of last year, because there's been nothing of real interest. GN'R is now trying to copy the AC/DC-model to capitalize on being a multi-million dollar global stadium touring act. One of the last few in rock.

Saw this Steven interview, it was the first real thing of interest I had seen since last year after Izzy blew it off, and everyone (Steven included) stopped sucking their dicks, so they could be VIP's of the band.

This interview pretty much confirms a feeling I had when this story broke in April of last year. I always felt that Steven's "back" was nothing more than a cover story. Steven has HIS version of truth (to quote Duff), and blames basically everything on his back. Steven would have you believe that he was locked in to play half the shows, if not 2/3 of the shows, and his back went out, and he was 'just fine later in the day', and that they immediately brought Frank in.

What i'd love to know is what Axl, Slash & Duff's true HONEST opinion on it is. And what you're probably going to be told (especially from Axl), is that.... *drum roll* -- Steven couldn't pull off the tracks.

"But wait Axlin, I saw Steven on some YouTube cell phone video rehearsing and he was GREAT! You're full of shit! Frank sucks!"

What you saw was what Steven WANTED YOU TO SEE. What you saw was ONE TAKE of him NAILING something, but still (to my ears) being off-time and slow.

In 1991, this shit MIGHT HAVE flied in the band, because all of them were loaded. But GN'R have sold their souls, and have one lost shot at rock immortality to be the big shit in the business again, as a multi-million dollar corporation. An opportunity that KISS squandared, and to an extent Van Halen.

Guns isn't going to risk that with Steven Adler. Frank has proven he's sober, can show up, keep time, nail the fucking songs, the way they've... frankly... been played for the LAST DECADE.

Adler hasn't been in the band for 30 fucking years! Jesus Christ Steven, times fucking change man. The band has changed the way the song is played. Diehard fans don't like it. Oh well. Van Halen plays differently. Whitesnake plays songs a key or two lower to suit Coverdale's declining voice. Shit changes. And GN'R plays songs differently and faster.

Steven himself admits in the interview he didn't even recognize Brownstone when it was being played, because it's a completely different animal now.

Bottom line -- Adler couldn't pull the tracks off in 2016, the way Guns N' Roses plays the songs in 2000 fucking 16. Not 1990. Now. Axl imo, basically (like Stephen Pearcy did with Robbin Crosby in RATT after he had a drug-induced stoke and sobered up shortly before he died), that having Steven out for "a couple songs here and there" -- is okay. But anything more than that -- not gonna happen. 1/5 of the gross? I'll kill the mother fucker myself (in an Axl voice).

Adler couldn't hack it, and again took an olive branch and has let it go to his head, and instead of just being grateful that they were willing to fly him out to these locations, takes it as "Frank's my buddy" to "why is Frank here, I can do this"

No you can't. And just because you nail YCBM & Civil War in ONE TAKE, doesn't mean you'll last for another two hours.

There's a reason Peter Criss isn't in KISS anymore either.

Again...

This is why Axl stayed galaxies away from this clown for years. He's got what we've discovered in the past year as "BBS" -- Bobby Blotzer Syndrome. Maybe people haven't paid attention to the 2016 disaster of "Bobby Blotzer's RATT", but it's basically if Adler toured Adler today as Guns N' Roses. Bullshit, obviously. The least talented member, touring as the band. Well Blotzer's experiment is done, and Adler is still living in denial with his syndrome.

So like Blotzer before him, let's explain to Steven the problem -- you are WAY WAY WAY more important IN YOUR MIND than you actually are to Guns N' Roses.

"The fans want the original 5"

NO THEY FUCKING DON'T. Guns N' Roses has sold out stadiums WORLD FUCKING WIDE, with Axl, Slash & Duff and no one else that anyone knows is in the band. Most casuals don't even know Duff. They just know the big two of Axl & Slash. Most casuals don't even recognize the majority of the setlist. I was at the fucking show, when Duff was introduced -- it got a mild reaction from the audience. Dizzy got virtually an equal reaction when Axl introduced the band.

Know who got the big pops? Axl & Slash. No... one... else.

Live with it. Accept it. Be happy with it. And be thankful that they're willing to have you over every so often. You're such a fuck up, you're un-insurable. Period. That's not bullshit, that's a fact of life. Take the hint. Why do you keep sucking their dick, if it's obvious they don't want you back. Move on. Be thankful, stay in touch with Slash & Duff, maybe you'll be back out there.

YOU - ARE - NOT - THE - DRUMMER - OF - GUNS - N - ROSES

Frank Ferrer IS and has been since 2006. Anybody that wishes him OUT, is a fucking clueless moron, because that same moron is the one that is gonna piss and moan when GN'R has to cancel their tour and their show, because jackass got found in his hotel room with an 8-ball and dead hooker. Frank is there - to avoid this.

It is what it is. If "GN'R is dead; it's not a real reunion". Fine. Don't listen to it. I'm not interested without new music. I'm kinda over this tour. But all the best.

But this Adler fucker. I'm over this shit. Fuck this clown. You had your moment 30 years ago. All you had to do is stay the fuck away from needles and pipes. That's it. And you MADE YOUR CHOICE.

You wanted drugs, rather than fame and more money.

Now live with it.

I agree. I actually think completely the opposite to Ragnar. I think it's one of his deepest, emotional, and most mature sets of lyrics he's ever penned.

I always saw it as Axl doing something straight up --- A Freddie Mercury piano ballad. I could totally see Freddie doing This I Love, along side Love of My Life or Friends Will Be Friends or In My Defence.

#48 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Your favorite GN'R side-project? » 463 weeks ago

I will agree that Tommy's solo is FAR FAR FAR more consistent than Duff.

I personally feel that Duff's best solo work, and only good solo work, was his 1993 GN'R-era release "Believe In Me". Love that album. Still love the album, and would take it over anything Tommy has ever done.

But beyond that, Tommy by a mile. I just can't get into Loaded, and never have. It's just all over the place, and it's all Duff, and most of the songs are obvious half-baked ideas with basic lyrics, just to make a song, and thus the reason the group never got off the ground. The songs just aren't that good.

The entire band of GN'R as a whole, including Axl, Slash, Izzy, Duff & Steven will always been the sum of their parts. Even Dizzy has some neat ideas for keys, but they have to be fleshed out by others. Axl needs talented people around him to bring those good parts to being great. Slash slummed for years until found Myles & The Conspirators. I know of numerous people, including myself, who never really thought Scott Weiland was a good pairing for Slash, Duff & Matt. They had one good album, Contraband, and that was that. Libertad is a fucking drink coaster. It is what it is.

But when Slash found Myles & The Conspirators... he was reborn. And that supercharging of Slash, is what has made him so good in GN'R 2016 imo. Myles challenges him in similar ways to Axl challenging him, although even Myles would tell you -- he's not W. Axl Rose. Not many are. But at the same time -- Robin Finck was not Slash. Or Randy Rhodes. Possibly John 5 maybe. But if Axl wanted Robin to be his Randy, Axl should've either A) started a solo band, or B) went balls deep on the industrial, Rob Zombie/NIN-reboot of GN'R, and like Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat, done it, and told the world to fuck off. He was gonna make his music HIS way, and songs like "Oh My God" and "Silkworms" would've been the first singles off of Chinese, and he would've just keep rolling. Turning "Prostitute" into his version of "The Day The World Went Away" by NIN.

Even Izzy's solo stuff is just a bunch of rambling riffs of neat little Western-themed rock stuff. It's good. But nobody is gonna remember the deep cuts, and most of the songs of his I remember are either Ju Ju Hounds stuff, or off of 117 Degrees. That's it.

Adler to me is the one the had the biggest impact. He really didn't do ANYTHING since 1990. All of the sudden he teams up with that Jacob kid from Back From The Dead, and hammers out arguably one of the best albums of any of them. I expected absolutely NOTHING from Adler, and that album delivered.

Favorite side project: anything Bucket-related

Favorite non-Bucket project: Ju Ju Hounds

Favorite side project solo album: ADLER--Back From The Dead

actually, I kind of agree. even Axl got his shit together and is acting like a nice, grownup person nowadays.
on the other hand, Izzy owes nothing to nobody, and of course can do whatever he wants to do.
just maybe without all that passive-elusive attitude.

I actually kind of agree with Ragnar too, and this is coming from a DIEHARD Izzy mark. Love me some Izzy.

But Izzy's decision making has always been peculiar to me. More so than even Axl or Bucket. I just don't get what makes Izzy tick.

He was the glue, but wanted smack. He wanted to be the real deal. But didn't want to work for it. You've gotta hand it to Axl, even he put his guns down and got his shit together. Sure 50% of the gross does that, but at the same time, still. Slash & Duff have been clean for years, unlike Steven. And the rest are replacement players, and of all the additional musicians, Dizzy is still with the band of them all, including Matt & Gilby. Says something.

Truth of the matter is, if Izzy was getting slighted money-wise, then Izzy should've buried their fuckin' reunion, by coming out of the gate and doing all kinds of press saying "they wouldn't give me my fair share, and that's why i'm walking". He didn't. He skirted around the issue, didn't participate, and they moved on. Izzy also knows when the chips are down, GN'R still keeps the fridge stocked with cold cuts and wine, when nothing else he's ever done in his life has. Reality check is, Izzy is still living off "the oldies" no different than Axl, Slash & Duff. He's not some bad ass real deal rock n' roller, but the only one of the true Guns N' Roses (even Steven got his shit together for a show), that can't seem to come to grasps that he was in the biggest rock band of the last 25 years, and refuses to deal with it.

Or maybe Izzy just doesn't want to do it

And Izzy has the free will to make that decision. Maybe he has more important things in his life, and good for him that he does. No different than Chris DeGarmo from Queensryche or Jim Martin from Faith No More.

But to keep rolling Axl, Slash & Duff, and playing the "no replacements" card with Dizzy (whom the media continues as I write this to refer to as a replacement player in Axl's 'new Guns'), simply because two former junkies, one who doesn't want the workload (his choice), and the other who's barely been sober for 2 years, and never held down the workload of Frank Ferrer, let alone Matt Sorum, to be preferred in a worldwide stadium tour?

All I got to say to that is... dude, really? Cut the 2016 Guns a break man. Pot meet kettle.

I can totally see why people don't like Trump. Not surprising at all. I do wonder though why so many want Hillary. Are they all just anti-Trump?

If Trump can persuade his haters he isn't a dangerous candidate he should win on turnout alone, when most of the opposition stays home or votes third party.

Alot of people don't like Trump simply because he's a BILLIONAIRE who says the things he says. It's frankly kind of prejudice, but I agree stupid.

But at the same time, if Stone Cold Steve Austin was running for Pres, or even say Jesse Ventura, and said the exact same thing as a "Joe Everyone", most people would laugh and cheer it on as 'putting it like it is'.

The complaints against Trump are valid. The guy was born with a gold spoon in his mouth, but he's gonna point at us and tell us what's wrong with the country from a rich, and from the minority's pov, rich white man's perspective.

Alot of people see Trump as part of the problem.

Yet Hillary is the exact same coin. She was born into the Rodham family, and was poised to spend her life in politics, groomed at the youngest of age. She has sold out the U.S. to foreign interests at every turn, and called it Democracy. Her and Bill's foundation have stolen millions, including from the Haiti Earthquake relief efforts. She buried the middle class by selling out factory jobs to China (even Michael Moore has admitted to this). She's lied at every turn, including disgracing the military by boasting herself a survivor of enemy fire for an event that never even took place. Bengazi is a complete clusterfuck. She runs as a feminist, yet helped threaten women who were either mistresses or rape victims of her husband for years, all the while building the goliath Clinton name in politics.

And even within HER OWN PARTY, she had to result to dirty tricks and the DNC helping her steal the nomination from her.

Bernie had a real revolution in the palm of his hand, and he just... quit. Some within the DNC ranks say he was threatened, some say he was actually attacked by the DNC power elite. Who knows what happened, but either way, he threw her a nom, left the party, and just vanished from the scene, yet we've gotta hear each week from Mitt "GOP insider" Romney how great Clinton would be over Trump. As well as the Bush family cartel vouching for Clinton.

Forget Trump

Hillary Clinton has been endorsed publicly, multiple times, by the Bush family. So all of you diehard Democrats, diehard Bernie supporters that go cast a vote for Hilldog, just remember... a vote for Hillary... is a vote for George W. Bush 5th term, after Obama finished his 3rd & 4th.

The neocon/globalist policies never ended. It amazes me how many people think she's going to be more than Bush IV, yet when Bush II was in office swore they hated his guts.

I don't get it. Nothing will change. The only thing I think Trump represents is ENDED the previous cabal that has been apart of the country since Kennedy's assassination, which is why so many of them in that group are fighting so hard to keep Hillary, like Kissenger and the CFR, George H.W. Bush, John McCain, all these GOP-types LOVE Hillary.

That shouldn't make you think unity... it should make you pencil in Bernie come election day just in a sheer act of defiance.

Trump represents nothing more than "Something else". Something different than the same cabal of people that have been up there for years.

Remember something, the GOP insiders were dead-convinced that Jeb Bush was a LOCK for the GOP nomination, and the DNC NEVER thought Bernie would make it past the first few primaries, and when he did, they went into panic-mode.

So there original thought was... Bush vs. Clinton -- again. You gotta vote for one of them. Trump & Sanders completely eliminated that. Sanders has been bumped off through thievery, and Trump is the last man standing. The polling numbers are bullshit, everyone knows it, and everything in this election-cycle has some sort of political bent. It just doesn't add up. None of it. Including how Sanders was treated. And his instant-quit on the e-mail scandal, i'm convinced, buried any chance he had of beating her. He just didn't push hard enough, and he still pretty much beat her, and she had to cheat to win.

I think most people have their mind made up who they are going to vote for. The incoming debates or scandals aren't going to change that. This is one of those elections that I think people already have their mind made up.

The realty is it'll come down to racial demos. Who will win? White males vs. Women & Minorities. Trump is virtually hated by minorities and middle-aged to older women, yet, Hillary is hated by young women (who wanted Sanders), and young women is the ace-in-the-hole demo for Democrats, who lined up in 2008 to proudly cast their vote for Obama, are more than likely just going to stay home come election day. That might play into Trump's hand.

Who knows

Trump gets elected

Half this country will want to declare war

Hillary gets elected

Half this country will want to declare war

It's literally Aliens vs. Predator... whoever wins -- we lose.
