First time I saw Rage was in 1994 when they played at the very first T in the Park festival in Scotland (a festival that is still going strong these days). Pretty special moment as Cypress Hill were on the bill too, but had been massively delayed flying into London and missed their connections up to scotland - both bands got onstage together for Killing in the Name - a brilliant moment!

FBI question 'Chinese Democracy' leak man
Guns N Roses Axl Rose
Blogger Kevin Skwerl visited by agents
Jun 25, 2008
Kevin Skwerl, the blogger who last week leaked nine tracks from forthcoming Guns N Roses album 'Chinese Democracy', was visited by two FBI agents yesterday (June 23) and questioned about the source of his files.
Skwerl last week posted nine songs from the album on his blog Antiquiet, but immediately erased the tracks after Axl Rose's attorneys got in touch and requested the removal.
Skwerl, a former employee of Universal Music, was visited at his office by two FBI agents who questioned him for 15 minutes about the source of the files and scheduled a house call to Skwerl's house this morning, asking to see the original files. Skwerl did not have the files.
After posting the files last week, the blog crashed from the sheer number of visitors to the site and Skwerl was contacted by "a really cool guy from the GN'R camp that was a middle man between someone who was very angry and me. He was trying to reach out and see if I'd go without a fight, which is more or less what I did," he told rollingstone.com.
Skwerl is not stressing about any possible legal action that may be taken, saying: "I'm not so worried about that. It's a legal grey area since it wasn't for download, it wasn't a finished product. We aren't sure who owns the recordings. I feel like I might survive this."

Anyone else think that Axl's vocals sound very Bowie in the first phrases of this song? Unmistakenly Axl, but still very Bowie-esque. Beautiful outro...

Apprently the father had a previous conviction for a sex assualt, and used to beat his children (especially elisabeth, according to a family friend). She also ran away previously. The cops are also investigating a murder that occurred 20 years ago - a body of a girl (who looks very similar to Elisabeth) was found by a lake in Austria, and Fritzl's wife owned a property on one side of the lake. guess they have to check every address he's every lived in, fkn hope there's no more grim-ness to be discovered...

This is all over the papers here. This is so dark, how can his wife not have known something? HOW? If he was that twisted towards his daughter - was he completely normal with his wife - or does she have dark secrets as well?? Not surprised one of the children is so ill - its probable that children that are the result of an incestual relationship often have serious medical problems. The poor poor kids. Horrendous.

Well said sic.
Sentences were passed yesterday. Harris and Herbert both got "life" which translates to 18 years and 16 years minimum and the other three got between 4 - 6 years.
Should a life sentence mean life? Is there a set number of years in other countries justice systems that denotes a "life sentence" ? And what is the liklihood of those "lifers" getting out early? In the UK - there seems to often be early releases for criminals and judges are pressed into giving community service sentences due to... wait for it.... lack of prison space...

I should also mention Sophie was 20 and her boyfriend Robert was 21 - and the little shits that did this were 15 to 17. It seems that Brenden Harris (15 at time of attack) was charged with murder (he plead not guilty to murder btw) and Ryan Herbert plead guilty to murder. 3 others (2 are 17 and one 16) have had the murder charge dropped (not sure if they got charged with GBH). As far as I can see, all of their sentences will be announced on April 28th - the judge is heading for life sentences for Harris and Herbert - but sadly in the UK (thanks to human rights laws) life sentences are paltry and offenders often released early. I'll update when the sentences are passed. They are also being charged for GBH to Robert Maltby (Sophie's boyfriend) - he is still recovering from the attack and has no memory of it.
It sickens to the stomach doesnt it.
