#501 Re: Guns N' Roses » 101 Document Titles From Axls Laptop (No Actual Documents Tho) » 795 weeks ago

Interesting titles, but we don't know if they are true or even what's in them. Axl's email about "dissolving GNR and having DJ sued" could just be him saying "no" to somebody else's suggestion, just like "Better video treatment" could just be Axl saying "no thanks."

These titles mean absolutely nothing. What if Axl's "thoughts on VR" were that they are a fantastic band?

Still a con by MSL as far as I'm concerned. I've believed that from Day 1, and I still do.

These aren't the document titles as such, that seems obvious to me. This is MSL's list of one-line summaries for them. (Actual documents would have file extensions, shorter names, etc...)

Doesn't make it more true, but going by the titles to infer the content of the actual document is probably more than reasonable in this case

Epic news if this were to come true. Corey would be the most excellent fit. If they really want to work with a known guy, and a strong frontman-type personality, this is as good as it's gonna get.

I really don't want to get involved in this and have done my best to avoid doing so, but I don't see how people can say Axl doesn't have a case here.

Besides the fact that it goes against everything the franchise stands for, if he has the agreement written down anywhere, preferably in the contract itself, he has a case. I'm guessing by the weasel words used in the complaint, and by the ridiculous claims that seem to come straight out of a game of Chinese whispers, they don't have anything in writing.

1. Activision verified that no images, avatars or other characters of any of the old lineup or then-current lineup of Guns N' Roses or VR would be used

In writing? 'cause if it hasn't been written down, it hasn't happened. Simple as that, no matter what your housekeeper says...

2. When Slash is selected as an avatar, a paragraph appears stating: "As a member (not former member)of Guns N' Roses, Slash's Snakepit, and Velvet Revolver, Slashhas established himself as a true guitar hero..."

"As a sea captain I got to see lots of interesting places, but now that I'm a desk-clerk I am home before diner".

Due to the fact that the verb is in the past tense, this sentence clearly does not give an indication of whether or not he is still a member of any of these bands. As a matter of fact, if anything needs clarification in that sentence, it's the fact that he still is a member of VR 'cause there's nothing there that seems to indicate he still is.

Damn! Whish I would've come up with that analogy!

Why? It is absolutely flawed. It's more akin to Coke committing to coming to a soft-drink convention as long as Pepsi isn't coming, but Mountain Dew, Seven-Up, Sprite, ... etc... are all fine (ignoring the fact that most are owned by the same set of companies). It's a guitar hero game, there is bound to be competition for your band and it's the nature of the format that bands who commit songs have no other say in the rest of the product's execution.

They were perfectly in their right to try and negotiate otherwise, but let's be honest here: the most logical explanation for what happened is that Beta neglected to take care of this is in a professional manner (ie get everything in writing) but is trying to cover her ass by falling back to so-called "verbal agreements" that have no substantial proof and therefore no value in the real world. She's basically going for the "but I trusted him on his word" card, which is about the dumbest thing you can do in business.

And for the record, I think all the wining and bashing is very much deserved and appropriate in this case. Some remarks might be rude, and Bono's list is impressive, but they are never necessarily wrong or besides the point. I don't think we should worry too much about the small personal remarks (e.g. the botox remarks), it's what people do when they are pissed off, flabbergasted or ventilating.

So is the #34 just a gain stage you hit? During the video, youcould be mine is played on the #34 mode, and Nighttrain is on the AFD mode.. The foot switch goes between both, so just wondering.

The way I understood it, it's a voicing option, not really an additional gain stage.

As for the price: over here it's similarly priced as a JVM, which isn't too bad for a limited edition. It's around €1300. I think you guys on the other side of the pond are being fucked by the strong euro and pound.

Yeah, something like that, but then at least half a day earlier...

Nice try though, only 18 hours have gone by before a fucked-up version of the telephone game gave us an answer we can have some degree of confidence in.

Then you gotta mesage Twitter and getting it sorted might take a bit longer than 20 minutes.

Uhm, no...
You click on the "lost my password" button, you get sent an e-mail (to the account you used to register with), click on the link in said e-mail, change your password to something new, and you're good to go.

Easy as one-two-three, and as I mentioned before. I did the entire procedure for shits and giggles in under four minutes. Just for the heck of it.

So damage control is bad. Well, they propably still don't really know what's going on. Peoples celeb Twitter account are usually hacked from time to time, and GNR management/control usually are dazed and confused.

I just created a new twitter account, changed the password and requested a new password in under 4 minutes... If the account got hacked, they now about it ('cause they pretty much told us themselves about 10 hours or so ago). It should have been fixed before they even posted about it, it's that easy. Stop kidding yourself

As far as their beers go, I prefer Tyskie. But I'm not a beer drinker (which is odd for a Belgian) so my opinion might not be the most valuable. I am into the stronger stuff though, and I can definitely recommend Zubrowka "Bison Grass Vodka". Even if you don't like vodka, worth a try.
