i'm pretty sure i remember an old Axl interview where he mentions the setlists & says about not wanting to play the same songs for the exact reason i stated - that fans come to more than one show.
i might've just dreamed that tho..
back then, they did lol

buss i don't think new gnr is unaccepted - i think it's unnoticed.
axl had his chances back in the day
#504 Re: Guns N' Roses » Going Down - A New Song? » 761 weeks ago
yeah i was thinking that during the rio show.
play the whole general - the beginning is already such a sweet intro.

one new song would make such a difference with fans
#506 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose/Dexter forum chat discussion thread » 761 weeks ago
axl saves and ruins the song
hes brilliant on it
but
his voice is forever engrained into our soles with the likes of jungle, sweet child, november rain, etc.
the farther he moves away from that sound the weirder it sounds to the current fans and the less credit he gets for his work.
the song is great imo
#507 Re: Guns N' Roses » What "IF" Axl had released a solo album back in 1995 » 761 weeks ago
doubt it.
axl does jackshit for his fame - slash is a 9-5 er. why would a recluse be jealous of someone's fame that he doesn't want and works four times as hard for it?
#508 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose/Dexter forum chat discussion thread » 761 weeks ago
progressive basically means progress/change.
music has changed since appetite/uyi's
axl attempted to leave the riff based rock n roll genre
(that slash continues to embrace)
when he embarked on his solo/new gnr journey.
whether he has loops and samples on cd or not is irrelevant to the comparison.
were not debating whether or not cd is groundbreaking and the pioneer album of the 2000's.
i said cd lacks riffs because it is more progressive in approach to slash's work.
thats just an objective analysis - opinions aside
you like riffs? great
you like contraband better than cd? great
im not saying one is better and one being progressive doesn't make it better.
its always subjective in the end cause its music
#509 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose/Dexter forum chat discussion thread » 761 weeks ago
cd is completely void of guitar riffs - no doubt
in fact of those 5 songs i would say only shacklers and irs have actual riffs and even that's arguable.
much more progressive cd is than slash's work

lol
were talking intros now?
i also didnt know we were talking about individual guitar licks.
comparing the guitar work on the ballads of chinese democracy to that of fall to pieces is tough to do because of the differences of the direction in which the songs go.
guitar work on cd ballads:
til - mostly just the solo
prostitute - mostly just the solos
fall to pieces can be played by one person if they can sing and play guitar at the same time - its that guitar oriented.
apples and oranges
