If you're lost, then you'll fit right in.  Axl is purposely vague.  That wasn't an interview - everything was very calculated.  He knows exactly what he said.  The problem is that nobody else does.

Yes it is actually.  Axl himself said it is.  I don't have the exact quote, but when asked what was keeping him from making a traditional GnR sounding album, he said Slash.  If Slash created nothing and just played what others wrote, he could make that album with anybody on guitar. 

So as soon as you convince Axl that he didn't need Slash to make that type of album, I'll start looking into your theory.  Until then, it's a bunch of horseshit.

Doesn't this all speak volumes?  He didn't want to lose Izzy, Slash, BH, Robin, possibly others...once again, what is the common bond here?  Why do you think all of these musicians left?
