It's not that bad and everything will be fine. It was after the depression and it has been after every single blip on the radar since then.
It took like 20 years for the stock market to bounce back to pre-1929 prices.

Well the markets are picking up. Hopefully we've seen the worst/lowest of the stock market collapse, which is feasible. Pretty bad loss though, nearly a 30% drop. I still think layoffs will continue, as companies prepare for next years budget, cut payroll. Also Holiday sales will likely be bad. Hopefully we all can pick up the pieces from this mess, learn from what went wrong, and the neccissary changes are made to move forward & improve.

Yeah, I really like That was just your life, Broken Beat & Scarred, and Judas Kiss. Unforgiven 3 is really good too, better than I feared. I listened to the whole album the first time & didn't even realize I heard "another Unforgiven song", so it's pretty non-descript. I was afraid it would be like they tried too hard to write it. Didn't seem that way to me. Solid album.

Yeah, I'll have to check the standings, but to me Atlanta seems like the surprise good team of the year. Buff & Tenn are doing better than expected, but probably weren't expected to be awful like Atl was.
Minn & Cleveland would be my disappointments so far.

Been trying to think of some for this, struggling right now but I'd have to say Liz Phair's commercial stuff went bad right away. Her debut indie album was awesome. A song for song counter to Rolling Stones Exile on Main Street. For a taste of how raw it is, listen to Fuck & Run. Then her next album, on a major label, was just too polished & overproduced.
Jewel had some bad follow up albums too.

For the record, the Rangers announcers earlier claimed that Philadelphia fans once "snowballed Santa Claus" at an Eagles game.
Haha, they didn't "Snowball Santa Claus", they boooed Santa Claus & threw snowballs at Jimmy Johnson & the Cowboys. [I know you didn't write that Neemo, it was part of the article]
Anyway, yeah it was pretty much known this would happen, a town that's about 70% Democratic, notorious for booing, doesn't like outsiders very much & where it's basically hometown for the other VP choice. After the last week the economy's had, plus it was their home opener against the Rangers, they were all set to boo anyway.
I watched the game, they did 'obviously' have the music up to cover it up. Good game though, alot of fights.

I hear the overseas markets are crashing bad today. Hope the NYSE doesn't continue this trend, it's done bad enough the last few weeks. If it does crash, I'm investing in 3 things over the weekend: Cammo paint, guns, ammo.

Sorry to hear that Tejas, I wish you the best. I was laid off in May 04 & it sucks!! But, everything happens for a reason. While out of work, for me, in the end it worked out great, I got a job I really am glad to have (for now, we'lll see how much longer it lasts). DEFINITELY sign up for unemployment. It pays around 60% of your previous salary, but doesn't take out taxes etc, plus you don't pay for gas to goto work, so it balances out. Only problem is insurance, try getting some cheapo shit with like a $1000 deductible or somethi ng. As for Best Buy, I'd guess they max would pay about $10 hour (aside from mgrs & asst mgrs etc). Ask Russtcb, he works in retail & should know, I think he worked for them a few years ago. Definitely plan your life out (X ray techs etc) if that's what you want to do, or at least healthcare, consider it. Is there an Ikea near you, after a few months of being out of work & searching hard (it's harder than you think) I took a job there. It was a great place to work, for me at least even though it was only temporary. Get some time for yourself, that's what you pay unemployment for in your paycheck every week. Sucks about the apt & car, see if the apt will let you myb get out in 2-3 months. It may suck, some days you may not want to get out of bed, just keep your head up. Go join the library & get some books too, both career books & fiction to start reading. Helped me out alot.

Good point Russtcb about the magazine flyers. That may be true, if not yet certainly within the next couple weeks will they begin making them soon.
I don't post in the GnR section much anymore, but even I gotta say this shows a little bit of promise. There's actually a chance it may come out this year.
