Okay so if I post a happy birthday buzzsaw thread!, it'd be okay for people who disagree or don't like you, to take pot shots? No it wouldn't. There's a time and place for everything.

People take shots at me all the time, many of them deserved.  I've gotten used to it.  It wouldn't bother me a bit.

Ken Griffey Jr is the best baseball player of our generation. He never took roids. I would eat my own shit if he did. I personally think he the true home run king of the modern era of baseball.

Frank Thomas was just as good of a hitter (if not better) than Griffey throughout the 90s until he got hurt.  The edge for Griffey is that he played CF most of his career.

Reality doesn't take birthdays off.  In fact, a birthday is the perfect time to assess someone's life to date.  Nothing I said was negative, it was a fair point.  Nothing I said after that was negative, it was all the truth.  I can't help it if people choose to view reality as negative - it is what it is.

I don't post at other sites like Jarmo's because I choose not to.  That place is only to love the new band and they are welcome to it.  Any thread here about Axl is fair game to discuss, well, Axl, whether it be Axl talks to whoever or happy birthday Axl.  Nowhere does it say to only post if you're going to jizz all over him.

Damn Buzz you're usually just negative but now you're just being a douche...

The guy acts like he's 16, it's a valid statement.  He's 47.  47.  Not 16, not 18, not 22.  So happy fucking birthday to the child that will never be a man.

Jeez dude cut that shit out. You don't have to always do your same shtick on every single thread. Give it a fucking rest. You don't like him, we know.

No, you don't know.  I barely even post here anymore, so don't tell me it's in every thread...it's not.  Plenty of others have taken Axl to task, not me (for the most part).  More and more people are seeing him for what he is, which is a good thing.

If you think I don't like Axl, then you haven't actually read a word I've written.  You've seen what you wanted to see.  I used to admire Axl probably more than anybody here.  However, I see him for what he is.  That doesn't mean I hate him, that doesn't mean I don't like him.

His act was ok when he was 24 and I was 12.  Only at some point in my life somebody stopped me and forced me to accept responsibility for my actions.  It's one of the keys to growing up.  Axl hasn't gotten there yet, and if he hasn't by the age of 47, it's likely he never will.  Sad.  So much wasted potential.

Well, that was totally fucking uncalled for.

Not a chance.  It's too cluttered to ever be appreciated by the masses.  If by fans you mean a few people online, then yes, maybe you have a point.  If by fans you mean people that have always loved GnR, there's no chance in hell.

I'm in full acceptance that some people are always gonna prefer the old band.  I'm well aware of that.  Everyone has the right to voice their opinions, no one's trying to stop you from doing so.  We may not see eye to eye, EVER, but to each his own.  Sure the band is evolving, I just don't see it evolving back to the AFD days/sound.  I guess you can stick around and wait for that if you'd like.

I used to be a BIG Pearl Jam fan.  They were my 2nd favorite band back in the day, and nearly surpassed GNR in the mid 90's when GNR was entering their dormant stage.  But with each Pearl Jam album the quality lessened for me.  I stuck with them through Binaural but only liked a couple songs on their last few albums so I gave up being a dedicated fan then.  But I don't feel the need to go on to Pearl Jam fansites and tell everyone how much their music has gone downhill over the years and how they should revert back to "Ten", "Vitalogy", and "Verses".

I went to see them in concert last year for the first time and they were AWESOME!  I fully recommend and hope they come back around sometime soon.  I'll be there.

I was in the same boat with PJ - I saw them very early in their career and they were awesome.  The albums weakened over time for sure.

I don't think the band will ever sound like AFD again, but then again, I prefer UYI to AFD.  I think CD sounds like a thrown together mess.  Some of the songs might be ok, but not in the format they were released.  I don't listen to better (the CD version), I listen to one of the leaks.  Axl has always had talent, he just needs someone strong enough to stop him from out thinking himself.  If he can ever return to "simpler" songs like Estranged, I'll probably dig his music again.  If everything is going to be clutter central, you're right, I will probably never like this version of GnR.

I said that immediately when I was introduced to BHs solo work.  It's far, far superior to anything he did in GnR.  It was further proof that he didn't fit in with the band.

well karma for you then
next time - speak up!

for the record, i think his contributions fit well in gnr but it's not as "magical" as slash's work was.

compare bucket head's solo to slash's
then compare slash's gnr work to bucket's

I'd take Slash's work in GnR over BHs and I'd take BH's solo work over Slash's (and I doubt that Slash's solo album would be mindblowing enough to change that).

I did speak up about BH - I think it got lost in my rants that people like to argue about instead of discussing something they actually agreed with.

Yes, you can be, but it's not always the most effective way to make a point.
