You're not really comparing a demo to one of the best rock songs ever, are you?

Validation from a "mainstream" audience is part of what makes someone a guitar hero.  I'm not saying it's fair, but it is true.  He may be a guitar hero to you, but he is not considered a guitar hero.  It's the same way with music...if the general public doesn't know about you, it doesn't matter how good your band is.  Talent alone only gets you so far in this world.

What he's saying is that everybody that cares knows about it already.  If they are going to get the general public interested, it's going to take the first single, not an Axl Rose press release to do so.

Reading that letter again made me throw up a little in my mouth.  It's hard to call it the worst idea ever in a saga filled with so many bad ideas, but it's on the short list.

People are telling people at the forums to go vote...what would you expect?  The real number will be significantly lower.
