Here's what I posted on another forum I go on about the movie...

Lol at all of the 10/10 reviews here.

Have you guys never seen Godfather II? There's about as 10/10 as a movie can be (and I would give it a 9.75 if I had to be critical)

Batman The Dark Knight is like a 8.5 maybe 9 if you really want to stretch it. For a big budget Hollywood movie that was intended to cater to the average person it was definitely pretty good and fun to watch, but it wasn't anything genius or amazing. It was just a fun to watch superhero action movie with one great villian (Heath played the Joker very very fucking well)

So while it was a great fun action movie, it wasn't some fucking work of art. People need to get things into perspective.

I didn't read the whole thread but some valid points I did read include,

It is a very conflicted as a movie, torn between being a summer action romp and a serious piece of character development.

Katie Holmes is ugly as hell too. I don't know what you guys are on about.

LOL I was saying this the whole movie

Even the lauded character development falls flat, as the characters far from being identifiable humans are cardboard cutouts of stereotypical archetypes that are hard to see functioning in real life.

And for the one I definitely disagree with...

the end.

Just because something is praised by the majority doesn't make it good. Maybe the one with no taste is you? Just believing in a mad amount of hype?

I'm not trying to insult you either, because I did like the movie it definitely was "moderately" good and enjoyable to me. But it's not deep, the characters are pretty flat, there was a bunch of bad dialogue, etc. It was like stuck between wanting to be art, and wanting to be a sterotypical action movie, which is fine... but it doesn't make it genius or 10/10.

In the end it was just a fun as hell to watch, but typical Hollywood "summer blockbuster" movie. 8.5/10 from me.

EDIT: Again, before someone goes "omg then what is 10/10 to u!?" I would definitely say Godfather II is the closest to 10/10 I've seen.. so it's not like I'm just bashing on Batman to bash on it.

So does anyone play online poker?

I've been playing 0.05/0.10 tables and some 0.25/0.50 tables (today is the first day I've ever played for money online) and having a good time. I stupidly went into a 1$/2$ game and lost about 25 bucks (started with 50) but I am back at 40 dollars now and I guess I just wanted to know if anyone at GNRev is playing and if they have any advice for a newbie

I'm surprised you guys don't think that Buckethead has any fun vibes in his music. Alot of his songs are intentionally goofy. Bucketheads Toystore is pretty fun, Binge and Grab is playful and obviously poking fun at 80's rock, the park intro theme, buckethead V bansheebot is a fun track...

There's more but I'm typing this out on my phone so I'll stop there.

Oh, and you've been raving on Bumble for years. Where are your song recommendations?:haha:

Hey, believe me, I do like Bumblefoot, but most of our disputes over the years about him have been concerning his technical ability, not about his catalouge when compared to Buckethead's (buckethead obviously with the superior overall catalouge)

I just defend Bumblefoots playing ability and you can hear his playing ability on songs like Guitars Suck, Turn Around, The Color of Justice, etc. The truth is I really haven't heard slot of Bumblefoots stuff, but what I have heard makes it impossible not to argue with you when you say, for instance, that they don't play rhyaid because the song is too "hard" for Bumble to play. The solo isn't even new GNRs most difficult thing to play, not to mention Bucket himself sounds very average on the live recordings of this song back in 02. I just know Bumble can play the song based off what he has played in recording I have heard him on. That's all argue.

Like I said, I'm on my phone, so I will type more out later if I have to

In terms of technique, of course, song writing is probably a different story. They are all hovering around the same level there.

low level of activity? A third of this site's membership logs in daily to check for news and/or post. I triple dog dare anyone to find any site no matter how big or small with a 33% daily log in rate besides this one, and thats not counting guests that walk through here.

Google anything with Shackler in it and this site pops right up near the top.

Thats not my definition of "low activity".

Oh, really I had no idea about actual login counts, I just mean post numbers. Either way, I wasn't positive one way or the other, it just felt like there was less activity than I would associate with the possibility of GNR putting out 4 albums, playing the VMAs, and finally getting CD out. If there was a video like this a year ago or even more back I would think the forums would have exploded. Sign of the times I guess.

Good to know that everyone is just hovering over the threads waiting though

what exactly are we suppose to say? Songs coming out.....just waiting for the leak!

No I definitely agree...

It's just GNR fans are always making something out of nothing.. so when it seems like there actually is SOMETHING about to happen, I'm surprised to see a thread with less replies than an average "Amazon with CD release date!" thread.

Anyways, am I the only person super surprised at the low level of activity in the forums despite the big news? Will it take the album release for people to become excited about this again? I keep refreshing threads here and at HTGTH and expecting alot of discussion, but there hasnt been too much recently. Calm before the storm?

You guys are acting like Harmonix is some giant corporation and that there is no way employees would share business info with each other. The actual team (not including basic testers etc. Which aren't a part of the actual team and more like temp employees) is probably only 20-30 people MAX and is a close knit group of people who enjoy working together.

There is no reason to think this guy, who's company is owned by MTV, which technically makes him an MTV employee, wouldn't have some credible info about a band that is in his game.

So either way, I don't see why some people are making this sound impossible. It's totally probable and even likely. Harmonix won't allow discussion of the video on their forum because it's fake? Doubt it. If it was fake they could just deny it (which they haven't convincingly)
