This time they announced a set date with one week notice. If you weren’t ready to release today then surely you must have known a week ago that certain things weren’t done and that you wouldn’t have time to do them in one week. So why announce it then?

Because the organization is not only inept/incompetent, they're on record as detesting the hardcore base. We're the infamous "pond scum" unworthy of new music.

They can fuck something up (par for the course) and instead of any repercussions for the fuck up, they can sit back and get joy out of what they're doing.

They could even do this amateur hour shit on purpose.... because there's zero repercussions for doing so.

It's NOT a coincidence that every single thing that isn't the touring machine run by Live Nation is always bungled.

Always.

This is actually a bigger fail in some ways than any beforehand. If they aren’t ready today to release, then surely they knew that a week ago when they chose to announce that they would release today. No one made them do that or was honestly expecting it at this point.

They absolutely knew a week ago. They didn't even bother to upload the always basic, generic artwork for the tracks. Why?  Because they knew it wasn't coming out.

IF they believed it really was coming out today, that's even WORSE. It shows that whichever pea brained 6th cousin of a nanny in charge of uploading these tracks did it without bothering with the artwork.

Garage bands managed by their mothers aren't this clueless.

This band has been such a fucking disappointment since I got into them almost 20 years ago.

I've said it for years...I feel sorry for the younger generations of fans who never got to experience what the real GNR was like. They really missed out.

I’ve read that the remaining living members of the Faces have recorded an album and will be released in 2026 sometime.  First time since the 70s.

I bet that comes out before these 2 singles.

I'm definitely interested in that.

This is a real shitty band to be a fan of. I was looking forward to blaring these two songs tonight but of course...nada...zilch.

By the time it does come out, you barely even give a shit.

Oh well....I'll just go back to the Talking Heads.

No matter what 30 year old song they decide to release, it'll never be as good as this....

They also announced the indefinite delay on the official GNR X page. Said the infamous SOON

Per the official Twitter page..it was in the reply fir f'd sake.
"Apologies for the delay in the music release today. Due to unforeseen technical issues with our distribution partners, the tracks Nothin’ & Atlas are not available everywhere just yet. We’re working diligently to resolve this ASAP. The songs will be available everywhere very soon."

Don't post shit like this here. It's not even mildly amusing and the few people hanging in here aren't interested in trolling.

Either post normal or go to mygnr or the social media platform of your choice.

#53 Re: Guns N' Roses » Nothin' » 10 weeks ago

The organization top to bottom...balls deep in incompetence.

It was to be expected though. There hasn't been a normal release since the Sympathy single.

AtariLegend wrote:

I'm just saying - I believe it.

It is extremely rare for tracks to not leak in advance if already uploaded. If it had been uploaded somewhere, but not released - someone would have leaked it.

The fact that there wasn't much of a push or even pushed by for example even a mention by the twitter account lends credence.

They probably knew for days or someone jumped the gun on announcing this. - point fingers at whomever. Bad communication or botched ideas is part of the experience.

People will get it in DMs, forums or discord before it comes out.

They didn't even bother uploading any art work to that pre-save/order link.

They knew it wasn't coming out from jump street.

If so, this would be taking James theory of the Chinese bait and switch to a whole new level.

It's not really a theory....it's a simple fact that took years to notice the pattern.

From 1999 to present day.

It started with the initial pushing of CD/Oh My God that led straight into nothing but Live Era release...including videos of the old band.

This band has become a joke really. Axl cries about some stupid marketing plan and what do they do? Mention the songs in a hidden sentence of a tour announcment which half the people didnt even see at first and thats it. nothing on their website, no teasers, nobody knows when the fuck this shit is gonna hit the streams.
but at least the fucking whore vanessa is able to post her privat jetset life on insta. TB are really the worst kind of people and absolutely incompetent and the band clearly has no desire to create any music.

Other than the Vanessa stuff which I don't follow at all, I agree with the overall point.

They're parasites. They latched onto him in the immediate aftermath of his split with Steph and essentially took over his life....to the point decades later becoming "managers" when they don't even have experience managing a lemonade stand.

When looking at the history of GNR, everything starts falling apart and never recovers the moment these people enter the picture. The bands history can be divided between pre-TB and post-TB.

The alternate timeline where Steph never spreads her legs for a rock star...meaning these people never meet Axl ....is vastly different from this timeline.

It could be worse....but it's a different kind of worse.

#54 Re: The Sunset Strip » Most Recent Movie You've Seen » 10 weeks ago

I've watched a shit ton of new movies/seriesthe past few months...

The Astronaut - First half pretty good and keeps you in suspense....it then falls off a cliff with a ridiculous climax.

Nuremberg - Amazing. This should get a few Oscar noms.

The Long Walk - I literally waited like 35 years for this movie to happen. It was ok but they bastardized the ending just so a black guy can be the survivor.

The Monkey - Another Stephen King story I waited eons for. I hated it. The actors are unlikable and they don't take the story seriously.

Alien: Romulus - I'm officially done with the Alien franchise. Garbage acting and garbage story. There's just no point in continuing this saga whether in sequels or reboots.

The Senior - Amazing story....middle aged guy makes college football comeback. Thankfully they didn't fictionalize it too much.

Drop - I normally hate smartphones in any type of movie. Almost didn't watch it. It's different here because the whole story revolves around her getting texts while out on a first date.  Definitely worth watching....once.

F1 The Movie - While it's just a generic run of the mill racing movie, I actually liked it. A bit too long though.

Green Room - Loved it. It's always weird seeing Patrick Stewart in anything not named Star Trek.

Presence - Wow. This deserves a Best Picture Oscar nom. This may be the most unique, original ghost film ever. We see everything from the ghosts POV...and it's nothing outlandish like most ghost/supernatural movies now.

Final Destination Bloodlines - The story doesn't even really matter...it's all about the crazy deaths throughout. They do a pretty good job with it.

Paterno - Pacino deserved an Emmy for this performance. He knocked it out of the park. I gotta watch this again.

When We Were Kings - Holy shit...this might be the greatest documentary ever. If not...it's certainly top 5. Just the spectacle surrounding the fight (Ali vs Foreman) sends chills down your spine. It's also a reminder of how far boxing has fallen in relevance.

Man....Ali was really something else. There'll never be another.

The Luckiest Man In America - Crazy it took 40 years for someone to make a film for this story. It's about the Press Your Luck scandal.

It's amazing but the thing I worried about going into it wound up happening....they don't show us how his life completely unravels after he wins all that money. The film focuses on the game show itself.

The Apprentice - If the world hadn't been turned into a dystopic Trump world, this probably wins shit tons of awards. It's really something else. Love the 70s vibe they got for this.

The Yogurt Shop Murders - The greatest documentary on the case ever. It deserves awards. Its too bad they couldn't have waited a few more months to release this because shockingly, this case wound up getting solved. I highly recommend this.

The Speedway Murders - About the 1978 Burger Chef murders. I guarantee this format gets ripped off by tons of true crime shows. It has actors playing the victims alive in the restaurant and they go over all the various theories about what really happened. Pretty unique.

Juror #2 - This was a huge disappointment... especially when you consider the possibility that it's Clints last film. He should've starred in it as the juror. It has a Lifetime movie vibe to it. I've noticed a lot of dramas feel like this now.

Trap - Just another M Night Sghbnbgfgk movie with a twist. His twists are simply way too predictable and when that's all his movies have to offer....

Late Night With the Devil - They nail the late night tv 70s setting. It was great up until it goes bat poop crazy at the climax.

I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) - Pure garbage. I only made it halfway through. The cast is simply too unlikable for me to give a shit about anything that's happening.

John Candy: I Like Me - This was incredible. He's deserved a documentary like this for decades. Loved the SCTV footage.

GLOW (series) - The first two seasons were perfect. I regretted waiting so long to watch it.  It did not need that third season. It almost ruins it. If/when I watch it again, I'll be skipping the final season.

Cheech and Chong's Last Movie - A perfect final chapter to their story. They drive while going over every aspect of the saga while we get to see all the footage. You can tell the breakup still bothers them... especially Chong.

I always thought a final movie like a Grumpy Old Men for stoners would've been the way to go out. Nope...this provides closure.

Defending Jacob - Great 8 episode miniseries. I should probably read the book.

The World Will Tremble -  It's good but there was so much more potential here. I wish Spielberg had tackled this story. What happened at Chelmno is horrifying...and just the opening round of the death camps ..but they don't properly convey the nightmare. It's just not all that emotional or shocking.

I'm starting to wonder if those old historians were right....it would be impossible to really dive into the Holocaust on film. A few exceptions of course.

Goebbels and The Fuhrer - This was better than it had any right to be.I went into it with low expectations. I have it on my list of things to watch again.

The Apology - This could've been amazing but they drag it out way too long. I would've preferred a better actor as brother in law/killer.

Humane- Loved it. I could easily picture this really happening in the coming decades....some sort of collapse happens and every family has to agree to euthanize some members.

You'll Never Find Me - I loved it up until the twist ruined it.

Hell of a Summer - Great slasher comedy. We need more movies like this.

Stranger Things - I finally forced myself to give this a shot...I had waited long enough. It starts out with a bang but I lost interest completely when season 4 starts. I don't think I can finish it.

#55 Re: The Garden » NFL 2025 » 10 weeks ago

Another crazy week....

Vikings have no answer for QB. Letting Darnold go may go down as the biggest mistake in franchise history. They gotta go back to the draft or try to get one of the free agent QBs this off season. Slim pickings.

Bears keep winning but I'm still not sure this isn't some bizarre fluke that will come crashing down shortly. Lions on the verge of circling the drain. Bears and Packers in the driver's seat in that division and I doubt this division will produce three playoff teams....too many contenders this season for that to occur.

Tampa and Carolina gonna fight to the death over that division. Falcons had a small shot until today.

Colts continue their collapse. Went from the top seed to a wild cart slot in 3 weeks. Next week's game against the Jaguars is huge.

Ravens and Steelers in big trouble. One of them will get to stumble backwards into the playoffs by default (division winner) but don't expect much.

The AFC is a total crap shoot this year. Perfect time for the Patriots to make a run with that weak schedule.

Is Denver for real? I'm expecting a slide similar to the Colts. If the Chargers also falter, this puts the Chiefs right back in the thick of it.

I’ll never pass up new songs but what the hell kind of timing is this release? Taking advantage of the Holiday music buying crowd? Simply to go along with the tour announcement and tickets going on sale? Doesn’t it make more sense to release songs closer to the start of the tour? Ultimately it doesn’t matter because the songs will come out and the band/mainly Axl won’t do anything with them. Unless things are different now? Nah, can’t be.

They haven't had proper management in eons. The brief period they had real management is when we got Chinese Democracy. TB took over after that. The only thing that runs competently is the touring machine and Live Nation does the heavy lifting there.

Everything but touring is just TB pretending like they know what they're doing and the big 3 indulging it because album and merch sales are a tiny percentage of their profits.

If this was the 90s when album sales were the bulk of your profits, they would've been immediately fired or GNR would've quickly been run into the ground.

I do find it coincidental that umg was expecting Chinese Democracy in 1999 but we got the orginal release of live era instead, Then again umg was expecting Chinese Democracy in 2004 but we got greatest hits instead. Now i was told umg was expecting a release from gnr on June 6th 2025 but we got a reissue/remaster of live era instead.
Notice a pattern ?

It's beyond coincidence....it was a strategy.

Bait and switch.

They've been doing it since day one of the saga....and continue to do it.

One of the worst was the 2006 Harley Davidson ad. Fan base going ape shit when we heard Better would be launched....they wind up using PC instead.

"See ya next summer with a bunch of new songs!"....

Nope... but you almost get AFD in its entirety.

It always winds up going back to AFD. ALWAYS.

It's a fucking miracle we ever got anything at all.

He wound up being another David Gilmour....he wanted the band name and everything that comes with it for himself but didn't have the drive or motivation to really pull it off.

Also why would Axl be talking about a marketing plan at the may 5th Japan gnr show on the iem recording for the new songs if they weren't ready for release ?

There is no marketing plan....there will never be a marketing plan.

These songs have been sitting there for years. We're still waiting on songs Slash talked about working on back in what....2018 or 19?

Just like with all their "new" releases in the reunion era, the mixing/mastering is going to make or break the quality. I really wish they could shock the shit out of us and both songs sound amazing.

#58 Re: Guns N' Roses » Atlas » 10 weeks ago

Shackler is right ...too little too late. The hardcore base was literally begging for Atlas in 2016-17.

They wait until the end of 2025 to release it.

Regardless of how good or bad the updated version is, it will not move the needle in any direction.

#59 Re: Guns N' Roses » 2026 Tour Dates » 10 weeks ago

Surprisingly....this news was on my local news last night. I never hear about GNR on the news. It was for the tour obviously but what caused me to sit up was the mention of two songs.

When I looked at the tour dates just now, makes me wonder why the local news even covered it. They are skipping the bay area and northern California completely.

Possibly the first sign the nostalgia tour has run its course?

Definitely.

When a major band starts skipping entire regions, the jig is just about up.

We'll get the farewell/anniversary shindig after this round.

Honestly, I don't even care anymore. I just want a few more songs to wrap it all up.

Give me Oklahoma and I don't even need anymore.

I was discussing this shit on the USENET newsgroups back in the late 90s. The forums hadn't even started yet.

HTGTH was just a basic site with album info, pics, lyrics, etc.

I was 22-23.

I'm about to turn 51.
