AIC isn't a huge draw anymore. Not without Layne. They've actually played as an opener before. I'm surprised they haven't opened for GNR before.
they opened for gnr in Nijmegen Netherlands in 2006.

Snakepit I is definitely a great album. Half killer/half filler to me but when listening to the best tracks you can see why Axl wanted him to bring those songs back to GNR.
When hearing Snakepit for the first time and Beggars intro kicked in I thought, "My god... why isn't this a GNR song?"
My soundtrack spring/summer of 95 was Snakepit, Elastica, and Mad Season.
I always say it's what AIC would've sounded like if they would've been from Louisiana.
I assume you thought this when listening to Lower?
Axlin..I never heard that Cult record. I'll have to give it a spin.
In fact, I guess I'll check out these last few Slash albums while we're waiting for this reunion to kick into overdrive.
I`ve been listening to Slash`s first solo record and some songs of the follow ups for the last couple of weeks.
I don`t know if you`re into Wolfmother, but this is one of my favorites. Easily on par with anything he did in Guns imo, especially the Solo.

Well, if he had made his mind up before then it begs the question, why bother going ahead with the residency & the dvd? (The dvd was recorded during that residency, right? Or was there an earlier one the year before??).
The dvd was recorded during the Vegas residency in 2012.
Looking back on that last (full) show I saw, I do gotta say they put on a fun show in fairness to them, & I always enjoyed seeing BBF.. But.. I'm glad they're gone!
exactely my opinion on that. they put on a kickass show every time i`ve seen them, but Slash being on stage with Axl again will completely erase the 2001-2014 live era.

who would`ve expected that....
i seriously believed this reunion would never happen! 
oh and by the way: from one of axl`s interviews in the last years, however far fetched slash rejoining was. axl playing with adler again was even more unrealistic. in this situation anything is possible though. if only to keep him alive..

Not sure about three years, but I also believe this has been in the works for a LOT longer than recent developments suggest. Also take into consideration that many fans(including me) felt that he was phoning it in on that last Vegas residency. Probably because the wheels were already in motion and he just wanted it over with.
The rumors of them being in the studio last year are looking a bit more solid now.
Don't want Kushner in.
Me either but if it gets us to the promised land I'll go ahead and support Roseanne Barr coming into the lineup if necessary.
edit: I don't blame him at all for losing interest in that 09-14 lineup. Just awful on several levels. I don't even want to imagine the music that Ron and Ashba sent him for consideration.
Axl phoning it in on the last residency? did you ever watch one of those shows? he was quite on, if you ask me. probably the best he`s been since the 2011 US tour. if anything, he was phoning it in on the first residency. if he`s on that level for the reunion i`m ok with it:

this is all over german news since a couple of days. the Hockenheimring thing obviously since today. and it`s all about axl and slash. BILD was the only one stating that it`s unsure wether Izzy will be there or not. for the general public it doesn`t matter who else is there.

I´ve just read it in the metro. Bild is Germany`s biggest tabloid and they know their shit. Interesting point is, they say that Gnr had to wait until January for the announcement, because of Slash`s divorce.

wow, looks like it`s really possible this time!
one thing that seems to have been overlooked in the last few months of speculation, is that the manager of the joint in vegas said in an interview in june 2014, that axl plans to reform the original band after the residency. at that time it came completely out of the blue and noone took it serious, but in hindsight it perfectly fits the picture. axl handing out those chinese democracy platinum discs to the band members could`ve really been the end of the chinese democracy era..
