I could use a PM as well.

Only listened once and will not listen anymore until the album leaks. It has to be appreciated in full. Not gonna burn myself out on clips. I'm glad you posted it though. It has a different sound than the other albums judging by these clips and the full songs heard(par for the SG course), but it definitely leans more towards DOTU than any of the others, which I expected.
Cornell's approach to his vocals seems to be different this time as well.
To those hearing Superunknown on prior clips/songs, do you still hear it?
So far though, not liking the idea of Halfway There. It sounds like a Carry On song. But that's only from a clip. So after that, I've decided to wait.
Just realized I fucked up and put the wrong song name here. By Crooked Steps is awesome.
Not sure how I feel about the clip of Halfway There. That song sounds like Carry On to me. From the clip. So I admit it is hard to judge based on that.
At the same time, it was good enough for those 4 guys, and none of the songs have disappointed so far. Must have faith.

Link as I was having a hard time finding it. Couldn't get to it through iTunes on the Mac, or the iPhone, or the iPad.
(On a side note, Apple needs to fix iTunes)

Pretty good band. Saw them live on SNL and The Colbert Report.
They aren't really great live. Or at least their singer isn't. Especially in We Are Young, he added a lot of "ha" sounds randomly throughout.
Carry On sounds good live though.

The Republicans picked one of the worst possible candidates, and for that, I hope they lose. Neither one is a great choice, but given a choice between the two it's Obama.
Like that old South Park episode, they gave us a choice between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich.

Been listening to this manna from heaven and By Crooked Steps is one of the best songs in their discography. I cant stop listening to it. They should have titled the song 'Crack Cocaine'. It's best song of 2012 at this point. If someone has heard a better song than that this year, post a link.
BLS, check out that song. I know you're on the fence when it comes to these grunge bands, but you'll dig this heavy shit.
You have broken my resolve.
It was nice of Dropbox to download them and place them in itunes automatically.

Your post is making it really hard to maintain my resolve to not listen to any more clips before this album drops.
I really don't want to listen to these clips. Or any others that will come out between now and then. When the album drops I want to sit in a dark room with good headphones and listen through.
So far though, not liking the idea of By Crooked Steps. It sounds like a Carry On song. But that's only from a clip. So after that, I've decided to wait.
#58 Re: The Garden » Windows 8 » 661 weeks ago
I played with Windows 8 over the weekend. I did not like it. It's good for a touch interface, but I'm still not convinced I want to touch a laptop. Or a desktop. I have an iPad, it is great for touching content and such.
I do not like using Windows 8 on a non-touch screen device. I feel that is where it really fails. It seems unnatural to do touch gestures with a mouse. Like closing an app. It's fine on a tablet to grab the top of the screen and drag it to the bottom. But with a mouse it feels unnatural and silly.
I will stick with OSX. It's much more reliable, great for photography, and all my devices sync to it easily. I swtiched fully to Apple in February when I bought a MacBook Pro. I won't look back now. I wrestled with cheap windows machines for years. I haven't had any major problems with any of my Apple devices.
#59 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose - USA Today interviews » 661 weeks ago
I think the interview was great. Reading it, I feel that Axl came off as calm and collected versus the past interviews he's done where he's come off as brash and bitter. This is a very large improvement over his forum post from 2008. He sounds like he's come to grips with the past and is finally able to move on.
I hope this means that now he can get to giving this band a real shot. And release an album quicker.
The most promising part of this interview is where he talks about wanting to write the music and lyrics together. That is exactly what they need to do. Sit down in a room together and start throwing ideas out. Just like with Appetite. See if they can find some magic together. It sounds like they all get along very well.
#60 Re: The Sunset Strip » Soundgarden- Non-State Actor » 661 weeks ago
I wish the guitars were a little bit more prominent. But that's just me.
However, this song kicks ass. It is clearly a Thayil song. Chris' voice sounds well worn, but that's not a bad thing. This shits all over any other new song that has come out from this new rock bands.
I'm sorry, did I say "rock," I meant to say "shit." Five Finger Death Punch? Give me a fucking break. They sound like whiny cunts.
It's nice to see the likes of Soundgarden, Aerosmith and the Stones returning to show these fuckers how it's done.
