CD is not that great. Been voting for it since round 1.
But seriously, none of the new GNR songs are that great.. I could have voted any of them off day 1 had I been in a different mood -_-.

I think to say Robin plays the songs different as a dig at Slash or GNR fans is looking into it way too much.
I think he just wants to put his own style on the songs and Axl probably likes it/approved of it.
I've always thought his guitar tone was bad live, but I respect him alot for sticking around as long as he has and making some great new music with GNR.

The basic song structure was written by Bucket and Brain. Big B did a score for a film of the same name (never released) From what I can gather Axl liked the plot/ideas of the story and crafted lyrics behind the music. It's supposed to be a pretty guitar driven rocker of a song with an amazing hook/bridge.
Weird. I asked about this on Saul's Buckethead forum, and he didn't even respond.
Saul never did much GNR talk at his site, at least that I can remember. I always chalked it up to just ignoring the GNR thing there as much as possible since he runs a Bucket site and BH doesn't really acknowledge GNR either.
Saul was so funny. Never got old. Miss him

As far as Bucket not being a draw for Rock Band, I strongly disagree.
Sorry to ONLY comment on this part, but I 1000000000%%%%% agree with you. Buckethead's song "Jordan" in Guitar Hero 2 was one of the most talked about songs because it was insanely hard and catchy and it overall brought Buckethead AND Guitar Hero alot of positive attention.
If Rockband can say "Yeah we have a crazy GNR song with some awesome Buckethead parts" people who played Jordan, video game reviewers, and people who love music are going to be excited, and the company will receive, (in my honest opinion as someone close to the video game scene and culture), more positive attention than "Slash is working on guitar hero!" (which would get some attention, but honestly, not too much)

Drums sound alot like the drums in Madagascar and If The World, so maybe Axl heard it, liked it, and wanted to make a spiritual sequel.
To be honest if the song is a sequel to this I will be pretty excited. It's not anything CRAZY exciting, but its a cool style and I think GNR could do justice to it.
So this really a buckethead song and if so what album?

With a name like 'Shackler's Revenge' it better not be a ballad.

Even if the song is "confirmed" in Rock Band 2, I will be pretty surprised if it is ACTUALLY in the final product. GNR has showed us before with the Harley Ad that they are not afraid of pulling out of marketing deals last second.
Either way, interesting song title and hopefully it makes it into the game.
