I finally got my internet connection to work with my GH3 and I have a new appreciation for Messages after dowloading it and playing it on the PS3. There's either some really cool guitar shit going on that you can't really here through the mix or Slash came up with some awesome additions for the game. Either way, I think it cements that song as my favorite VR song.

Unfortunately I've been beaten down as a fan to where I agree.
And I'm not really saying CD is going to suck if it ever comes out. I don't like some of the songs we've heard at all, but there may be others that are good and a few we've heard are good or have potential. It's just reached a point that no matter what happens, it's not going to be worth the hype or the wait. And people like Baz hyping it up even more aren't helping.
To put things in perspective, Baz thinks Angel Down is awesome. It's kind of like that Sinefeld episode where Elane and the ugly baby were both called "breathtaking" or whatever it was by the doctor.

Not gonna happen. After CD disappoints, there will be no trilogy.

As far as Huge being a "bedroom player", he is on more officially released GNR material than any of these 'new' members.
I think that says more about the state of Guns N' Roses than it does about Paul Huge.

I don't think so. If it takes a while, it's because they want it to take a while for whatever reason. If they wanted to, they could have a singer tomorrow. I don't believe for one second that they are all sitting in the studio doing nothing but listening to auditions. Either they know who they want or they are in no hurry to find who they want, but the delay isn't because of the internet, etc.

It's an interesting list. I don't agree with all of it but I don't have a problem with most of it either. There were a few that struck me as odd (like Hetfield and Angus Young so high), but I've seen much worse lists too. I think VR hurt Slash's stock because he used to be univerally higher than this in peer ratings (from what I recall).

Having an album that cost them well over $13M with no chance of breaking even is a pretty good reason to hold it until they can figure out how to get their money back. CD is not going to make money. The label wants their investment back. Who knows - maybe they took an insurance policy out on it and would be better off not releasing it.
All of this assumes they have the record and it's worthy of being released - I'm not convinced either of these statements are true.
