In another gnr parallel, I think they needed each other. Baz can't write good songs to save his life, but he has a great voice for 80's rock music. The guys in Skid Row wrote great songs, but needed someone like Baz to execute them. Once again, neither has been as good apart as they were seperate.
Someone listed Baz's post Skid Row career earlier...his most successful projects were all him performing songs written by someone else, mostly in musicals. His best albums were unquestionably with Skid Row and he's never even come close to that success on his own. Even going around promoting this album and Axl's presence on it like crazy hasn't led to strong sales. Same thing for Skid Row post Baz. None of this is coincidental.
I agree to a certain extent. I really don't think Bach wants to be known as the guy who used to be in Skid Row though. I think they're totally ok with people thinking he's still around though.
Yet another parallel.

He was the signature sound vocally, but he didn't write the songs. Look at his post SR resume. All he's done is either sing other people's songs or release poorly received CDs of his own. The guy can sing great, but he can't write good songs. Once he lost the people writing the songs for him, he's stuck singing songs written by other people.

Maybe on the surface it isn't different. The songwriting is terrible from the little bit that I've heard and I've yet to see anyone that has listened to the whole thing say differently. Just because it "sounds" as good or better than Skid Row doesn't mean it really is. A technically advanced guitar player can make a crappy song sound better than it really is (isn't that right Buckethead fans?).

This is what I was afraid of. I predicted the album wouldn't sell and I was right. Since Axl was basically used as the sole promotion for the album, it will be interesting to see what (if any) effect this has.

Don't even waste your time trying to pick it apart. This is no different than any of the other BS posts. Someone is an attention whore. What else is new?
#6507 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash and Duff have discussed doing a GNR reunion show » 918 weeks ago
I agree, he will be remembered. I just don't think he'll be remembered as fondly as he could have been. He's closer to Michael Jackson than he is to Mick Jagger. He'll be remembered more for his quirks than his talents, which is a shame.
#6508 Re: The Garden » jarmos myspace page » 918 weeks ago
I choose not to go to the site. The owner is dedicated only to the current band and makes an effort to discredit and insult the members (and their fans) that made Guns N' Roses what it was and allow it to be what it is today. That's his right and it's not something I want to be part of, so I stay away. It's not that complicated.

Some will argue that Guns never split up. I disagree, but maybe that's the stance that the article is taking.

They can earn interest off of any money they have sitting around. Even if they have to give the money back because the album never comes out, they keep the interest. They win no matter what with nothing really to lose unless they invest in prime rate mortgages.
