What'd you think of fiction?
Personally, i think its one of the best slow songs on the cd. The parts where you can hear the rev gave me chills. excpecially the "let it burn" part
Fiction is amazing, Kind of haunting. Makes me wonder if it wasn't suicide.
God Hates Us is amazing. It's like them going back to what they were doing on their second cd Waking The Fallen (see Second Heartbeat)
Buried Alive sounds like Metallica, with Shadows switching between some James, and Blue Oyster Cult infused vocals.
Overall, this is in their top 3. I still like Waking the Fallen a bit better, but I've been listening to that for years. I would put this above their self titled album, and just as good as City Of Evil. So for me it's tied for second.
It's a very good blend of their harder WTF days and the melodic touches they developed in City Of Evil and Avenged Sevenfold.

#65 Re: The Garden » Florida To Block Tax Credits For Industry If Product Has Gay Character » 822 weeks ago
Well that doesn't seem very "friendly" to me. Frankly I find it shameful, mean spirited and small minded.
There is a large gay population all over Florida. South Florida in particular, but Orlando, Tampa etc also have a very open and active gay culture. Despite shit like I'm reading here (the original article, not others posts), most people simply don't make that big a fuss over it.
I grew up in Florida in a school district that included a lot of kids from the sticks. These kids wore rebel flag hats, said "Nigger" all the time, hated the Mexican field workers with a passion, and anybody else their racists parents taught them too. A lot of that has gone away now, but you can still find it in more rural parts of the state. It gets more rednecky up around the panhandle, and central Florida imo.
Once you get to the SE side of Florda there is a huge Jewish population, and much of the "white flight" from Miami went up to West Palm, Boca etc to get away from the crime (at the time) and keep tucked away where they feel nice and safe. Get down to Miami and it's just a big international city. I actually love Miami for this reason. Yes the latino culture is predominant, but it's not like people make it out to be. There are all kinds of people including a huge gay population. Key West is laid back, and the gay population down there is also an integral part of the town. Gay pride parades with drags queens and gay shops all up and down the main strip. It's light years away from Tallahassee, Orlando or Gainsville for instance.
Ultimately Florida is pretty diverse when you make your way through the state. The narrow mindedness is still rooted down in the rural areas, but those dipshits exist all over America. IMO Florida is more like Southern New York now more than anything these days. A far cry from the swampy redneck shitheads that used to be the majority back in the day.
just wondering but are you thinking of Wakulla and Leon county?
Seriously though. This area is awful. I'm glad I got out of that racist, hick of a county. Although Leon isn't much better, although Tallahassee is a bit more tolerant than Wakulla, There's stillalot of problems...

earlier this year i took a bit of an interest in this subject, cuz of catcher in the rye...
i read the book, watched a couple movies...chapman is a severly disturbed individual...but the book is good....it really freaked my wife out when i told her i identified with Holden Caulfield...
Don't worry Neemo. I freaked myself out when I read Catcher. I read it in one sitting on a bus ride back from like Vero Beach or somewhere.
I was just like "wow, this guy thinks pretty much exactly like I do..."
Then I remembered the whole Lennon thing...:nervous:

'Tis true. I've said for years the signs should be changed to "Welcome To Florida... try to survive"
It is the most bizarro state in the union. All kinds of ways to get raped and killed no matter what your age, but sadly kids seem to get the worst, drug running galore, neo-Con facisitic rule, car wrecks, gun fights with dead bystanders, nobody in this state could learn to use a blinker to save their fuckin' life...
Then after ALL of that, you still have to survive lightning strikes, tornadoes and hurricanes.
AND if you get through that, then you face off against rattlesnakes, gators and sharks.
And with all that, retirees FLOCK here.
Just weird ass, and sadly these stories pop up way too much in this state. Just the other day, some guy on Thanksgiving got up from dinner, went outside, got a gun, and walked back in and killed his entire family. Why? Who knows... welcome to Florida.
I know whatcha mean. My whole family for the most part lives here. I'm contemplating on leaving after/during college. It'll probably depend more on where my friends end up though.
