The Killer - Very entertaining. Movie about film making. Not very deep.
Killers of the Flower Moon - The real movie is all subtext. Main text beats you over the head.

Killer=the Fincher one w/Fassbender.  I'm looking forward to that.

On Killers of the Flower Moon, is it worth sitting through?  I still haven't finished the Irishman and the runtime scared me off.

Seen a few :

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas:  weird, almost psychadelic trip.  There's a lot of stuff that people may not get.  It's basically a critique about the American Dream or just a darker look at "flower power".  I need to watch this again.

Shaft (1971 orignal) RIP Richard Roundtree.  I've seen this like once or twice.  Always liked the sequel.  But I get why this is so infleuntial.  This is the first (or most mainstream) "blaxplotation" films.  It goes over the difference in social conditions (subtely) between black america and white america at the time.  Ok, it's not THAT deep but that's what I got from it this viewing.  The plot is almost lifted from one of those 40s-50s film noirs. But what makes it work is this: shots of NYC in the early 70s and Roundtree is just a cool cat as Shaft.  Oh great score by Issac Hayes as well.

Sleepy Hollow; Interesting and fun film with Johnny Depp in his prime and playing another eccentric character.  This thing oozes gothic mystery, spookiness and anything else that'll get you into the Halloween mood.  The violence earned the R rating.  This was definitely not a kids film.  I'm not sure this is a classic though.  The end is sort of a clusterfuck or things that happen too fast.  And I hate to point out this next part but having Christina Ricci play Depp's love interest has an ick factor since she looks pretty young in the film.  They should have cast someone older.

Oh I did like the contrast between the Ricci' character's spirtual(maybe pagan side) against Depp's reasoned, scientific based character.

Preferribly, one that releases music!

Fellow lefty here, lefties rule!

Also I wouldn't take meds just because most of society does.  If you feel like "yourself" and fine and can manage w/out taking meds, then you shouldn't.

Sad. Must have been a heart attack.

I always hated Friends. Couldn't believe it was a huge craze back in the day.

I wouldn't be surprised if prescription drugs were involved.  I never caught on to why it was so popular either.  I've seen some eps and after a while it just gets kind of dumb.

Slash is definitely on monsters, 4 mins in, you can tell it's him.

I'll defend the General a little, it's got a nice gothic Halloweeny type feel to it.  But I have no idea what the hell the lyrics are about.

But Monsters is definitely the more catchy song.

Appreciate the optimism but if they wanted to debut it in a bigger way, why did they want to release it on vinyl only with no promo from the band at all?  Seemed like they treated it like a b side

Can't say I'm surprised at the predicatably disasterious turn of events here (note: to sky dog, I learned this time around).  But I do feel for everyone who bought the single and got disappointed.

I'm not sure why they bothered announcing the release date unless it was some sort of test as to the public's appetite for new music.  If that were the case, here's where they failed.  They barely plugged it.  I'm talking about The General and not Perhaps.  They did all these shows and gave a few interviews.  Did they ever mention anything about the song or make non-hardcore fans want to buy it at all?  Nope.  So why would they be surprised when the only people that ordered were diehards(the part of the fanbase they hate anyway)?

Someone needs to tell these guys the basics of promoting/plugging your brand in the 21st century,  because it's obvious that they have no idea how to do this .  Even if they have totally turned into a for profit machine that tours on "the hits only, they are not making as much as they should based on their management incompetence.

Donald Trump is a part of the problem, not the solution. And he insists on doubling down.

How on earth does anything Trump does help anyone or anything? HOW?!

You and I are aligned on this topic.  Trump has and always will be about himself and how much he can gain/rip off people for his own gain.  Did you read that Meadows flipped on him the other day and will testify in GA?  Donald Trump has been allowed to get away with stuff because he is famous.  He'll probably won't do much (if any) time.

And yeah, the GOP is part of the problem here.  If they didn't support him or give him power, then he'd go away (in politics at least).

I'll be freaking honest.  I thought they had this thing under control and would roll it out like a normal band and well would get the fan base excited again.  They rolled out a video for the first time in ages.  But that might have been pure luck.

I should have been more cynical like Lofton and Sky Dog.
