You've yet to explain why it's bad! Or what about it offends you.
Yes I have. More than once. We have this discussion every few years or so. Its a circle jerk where one participant wears a dress. You love trannies and gay culture and want it shoved in everyones face 24/7. I don't. You think its great that some parents force little boys to wear dresses to school. I don't. Simple as that.
You haven't explained WHY you think it's bad. If you have more than once do it now. Don't say you have explained it previously, then walk away from it. And now you're falsely assigning viewpoints to me. I never said I "love trannies and gay culture". I love and have respect for all people, nor did I say I want it shoved down people's throats. By saying you differ from my view on that you effectively say you don't have tolerance and respect for them and that is the issue.
If a kid is FORCED to wear something they don't want then that is bad. If a child from a young age doesn't like/want what they are told theu should like and want(liking blue, liking action heroes/liking pink, having a toy oven) then let them have what they want and let them have the clothes they want.
What is bad about men wearing dresses? What is functionally bad about that item of clothing that makes it unsuitable for a man? Forget, what people might think of it, what about those clothing items makes them unsuitable for men. And vice versa. Why do people have to fit into a mould that you say they have to?
And how do LGBT characters ruin your shows? What about their presence in the show is a ruining factor?
You could at least watch the damn shows if you're going to criticize my criticisms.
To use an example of one of my favorite shows......Party of Five. In the last season, they introduced a gay nanny into the story. There was nothing wrong with this. They actually did a pretty good job with it and Victor taking care of Owen. If it happened today, Bailey would start wearing dresses after being straight his whole life, start going to gay parades and profess his undying love for Will.
You posted less than a day ago and I have work. How am I going to watch this shit in a day, and why would I invest hours of my life into watching shows just to discuss these shows with you. I also didn't "criticise your criticisms" I ask you to explain them because until then your criticism was "there's gay people in them - that's bad". I don't dispute that some shows are guilty of some virtue signalling but IRL people have been straight and then after a while realised they were gay - IIRC that was in fact the background for a side character in Friends.
it simply IS homophobic and transphobic.
Oh please. This is the tactic used against anyone who doesn't fall in line with the agenda. You've been a member of this community almost since its beginning so I assume you've participated in this discussion before. If so.... you know that I have two gay relatives.....one my uncle who is more like my brother(and only two years older). He's the one I took to that Buckethead show. He doesn't flaunt it in peoples faces continuously and when you see him, you wouldn't think he was gay. In his early 20s he did some things like going to parks/rest areas to fool around. I criticized this at the time. Children go to parks and in the late 90s there was a story in Sacramento about a little girl at the park and when her mom went up to her, she had a used condom in her mouth....she had picked it up off the ground by the bathrooms. THis sparked an outrage here(rightfully so) and people wanted something done about it but of course not a damn thing really happened. Media dropped the story so no one ever found out what happened(or I simply didn't see it) but I hope that kid didn't get a disease from that incident.
Straight people fuck in parks too. It's something exclusive to gay men. To equate it as such and start talking about disease... wow.
My other gay relative is my cousin in her mid 20s. Its like night and day. Its shoved in your face 24/7 and other than #BLM, one of the few things she talks about. She's butch to the core and I've warned her about going too far with it. Not everyone thinks this stuff is peaches and cream and when the eventual backlash occurs, she's gonna have some splainin' to do and it wont be easy to backtrack on all her SJW nonsense. She'll also be on an island because the girls she dates aren't even really lesbians....they do it because its the 'cool' thing to do.
Perhaps, seeing that the world is more tolerant she feels she can be more open? Perhaps when you've had to hide who you are after years or reprisal for some it does become a key, very public, part of their identity. The part in bold... wtf.
Why is it bad that she looks butch and doesn't fit the protypical model of what people think women look like?!! The fact that you talk about her having to fear backlash is exactly why this is an issue for these demographics. Unless your words haven't come across right here it sounds like you've told your cousin to be more closeted because of fear... what a fantastic society........
Nobody gives a shit what they do in their bedroom so keep it there. The general public doesn't want to be constantly bombarded with it. We get it...you're gay....now move on. They don't move on though. They want everyone drowning in their gayness until they cant breathe. Society looks to be ready to come up for some air. I do realize its probably a minority of gays using this approach but if so, the media should stop focusing on it. LIke Chong said, "They're gonna ruin it for the rest of us...".
So a couple of characters on TV being gay and perhaps kissing each other is abhorent and is the shoving of gayness down your throats. But a straight couple kissing on TV, no problem... what a fucking sense of entitlement.
Stop policing consenting adults' sex lives
Like I've already said, no one cares who people fuck behind closed doors. Keep it there. It doesn't belong in every fabric of our culture or at the local park.
No one is advocating fucking in public parks! But they should feel free to kiss their partners in public the same way other people do without fear of reprisal.
Gays like to parrot the 10% statistic. Do you really think such a minority deserves or needs that much attention?!? While its not the same thing obviously, a small percentage of guys have a foot fetish and some here are aware of my interest in that regard. It doesn't mean I want or expect every hot chick to flash her feet on TV screens or for society to cater to my needs. I don't expect society at large to indulge it and certainly don't expect the media to bombard everyone else with it just because that specific interest is in the minority. While its not something I'm ashamed of, its not something I go around bragging about either. Other than some posts on the internet or a few jokes over the years with friends, its not brought out into the open until things get heated with whoever I'm hooking up with. I don't go around demanding special rights or walking down the street waving a flag with Mischa Barton or Angie Harmon's feet on it.
Someone's sexuality cannot be equated with a fetish. But here's the thing perhaps if there area sizeable set of people with foot fetishes it should appear in pop culture without being a joke in an appropriate setting!
These people have had litttle to no representation in maisntream media for many decades, if there is now an awkard rebalancing where there is perhaps an unrealistic overrrepresentation, then maybe suck it up for a while it'll level out when we finally get to the point where no one cares who is gay/straight/bi and people openly are just accepted for liking who they like. However we've had many centuries prior to this where that wasn't the case so maybe it's not too much to accept seeing some overcompensation in the short term.

It isn't even an issue of their sex lives. A man wearing a dress and two women holding hands are not sexual acts! It is just them being themselves in the same way straight people do everyday.

Why does it matter if kids see it?
Are you serious? If you feel that way, why stop at trannies? Lets mainstream the dog fuckers of America. How about pedophiles. It never stops. Society cant cater to all these fringe groups just because you want children drowning in it.
Before anyone starts in with faux outrage, I'm not comparing them to dog fuckers and pedophiles. Just pointing out that when you start mainstreaming fringe groups you'll simply dig deeper into pandora's box.
I don't care if my not wanting these fringe groups going mainstream comes off as "intolerant". Most people agree which is why we're in the opening phase of a cultural shift.
Just because you don't want 5 year old boys being forced to wear dresses and pretend to be girls doesn't make you intolerant. That line of thinking shows how far this nonsense was allowed to go before society decided to put the screws to it.
BTW, black people still call themselves niggers. The word is considered peaches and cream....unless a white person says it....then it becomes a bad word.
The GOP argue that the transexual population is minuscule, but at the same time bemoan their hostile takeover of our public restrooms. How big of a problem can this really be then?
That's kinda my point. If the media stops pushing this like its some major thing, it goes away quickly. There aren't enough of them to make it a mainstream issue so stop pushing it as such. They have been trying to force this issue on the general public.
We've had enough obviously.
The over the top pussification / political correctness needs to stop at some point
THis will probably be the best thing about a Drumpf presidency. We're gonna get to go back to normal finally.
every show on television having a LGBT of one kind or another needs to stop too...
Yeah I'm sick of this too. They ruined my two favorite shows with this nonsense(Veep and Rizzoli) and almost ruined the other but it was with a minor character at that point(Parenthood).
This happened at the right time. They were about to start pushing genderfluid kids as actors on TV shows.
Kermit weighs in on the election....
You've yet to explain why it's bad! Or what about it offends you. All you've done is comapre them to paedophiles and dog fuckers, put out a disclaimer saying you're not doing something when you basically just did. And if you're not then your argument is
"There's nothing wrong with transexuals, but we've got to be careful about accepting them because the dog fuckers might get pretensions of being accepted too, so unfortuantely we can't accept them"
And how do LGBT characters ruin your shows? What about their presence in the show is a ruining factor?
Your argument is just "I don't like or care about them, others feel the same, they need to go back in the closet". But you haven't at all explained why you don't like them! Until you do you are just coming across as horribly transphobic and with your shit at the end about being annoyed that LGBT characters ruin your TV Shows (the horror, the sanctity of TV is at stake) you're now coming across as homophobic as well.
Explain what your problem is with gay and trans people. Without saying that they are too present in day to day life. Explain what about them actually bothers you and how they interfere with you doing the things you want to do.
#744 Re: The Garden » US Politics Thread » 516 weeks ago
They've been called trannies for decades....even referred to themselves as such. Is this the part where we pretend to give them new names? Don't bother because that nonsense is ending and would be a waste of time.
When bathrooms start popping up for them, forced to see it in real life and on TV, yes it impacts peoples lives. When parents have to explain this crap to their children, yes it impacts their lives. KIndergartners should not have to see little boys pretending to be girls and be told that its normal.
Some people wont be happy until the bottom completely drops out of society. Thankfully the gods intervened to stop this from happening.
Why does it matter if kids see it?
Fundamental misunderstanding, to these people it's not pretending.
Why is it bad if parents have to explain this to their kids - Is there a problem with parents having to explain why some men kiss men and some women kiss women? Why is this different?
What's dangerous about having to explain any of this stuff? None of it is sexual so all that's happening is kids learn that boys can like boys and girls and vice versa. And that even though some people are born masculine/feminine they may prefer to think of themselves the other way. None of that shit is earthshatteringly dangerous and without an explanation as to why it is I'm afraid that you just come across as intolerant.
And black people were called niggers for decades, and even called themselves that and that was "just the way it was". What kind of argument is that?! It's not looking for a new name, just show 'em some respect and called them transgendered or transexuals. Not trannies.
I disagree with Randall fundamentally on this (apart from the hormone treatment, shouldn't pump drugs into kids till they're old enough to understand- but if they wanna wear a dress let 'em), but at least he's coming at this from an angle of concern and trying to discuss why he thinks this might be bad and is giving reasons. You're argument boils down to "wah, it's different and not the way things used to be, wah".

Axl S wrote:To James and Flagg: Do you guys have something against Transexuals?

Kinda like how they tell us everyone and their grandma wants a tranny bathroom even though we know damn good and well nobody does
It's not about people wanting it. My question is: Why do you guys NOT want them and are against them?
Bathrooms in general been split is starting to become redundant. If the reasoning for it is to protect each gender from unwanted sexual advances of the other then what gets done about gay and lesbian people?
Because I believe Transgendered to be mentally ill as all the medical books agree. You can't 'feel' like a man or a woman. And you sure as hell can't change your sex based on what you feel that day. It's complete nonsense unsupported by any research. Yes, they have a problem. Yes, we should show them empathy and compassion. Yes, they need help. But that doesn't mean we should pay to let them butcher themselves (have you read the studies that show no improvement for those who undergo surgery) and we sure as fuck should not be letting 6 year olds start hormone therapy because their mommy and daddy are enlightened liberals.
If I told you I identified as a shark or Jesus Christ and demanded you not only address me as such, but alter the laws and way society functions to accomodate me, you'd call me fucking insane. So why should we pretend that men can magically become women because an exceptionally small minority of the population has a bonafide mental illness can ignore that they're ill?
Dress in all the lingerie you want. If you can afford the surgery, go for it. But don't expect me to pretend someone with a cock and balls is a woman.
When are YOU paying for it?
Who are YOU to dictate how OTHER people raise their kids?
And finally who cares? If you meet someone who is wearing women's clothing and they are biologically male but say they are woman, why do you care. Are they interfering in your life. Doing anything that affects you day to day. Or is it just you don't like seeing and hearing about it?
The problem was the mainstreaming of it. In all previous decades, trannies existed just fine. They were an outer fringe minority and treated as such. It wasn't an issue. Now they want it mainstream and for some reason expected everyone to consider it peaches and cream. It's NOT peaches and cream.
Same thing with the genderfluid nonsense. They expected people to just sit back and let five year old boys wear dresses to school pretending to be a girl just because his idiotic parents want him to be a girl.
Fuck that nonsense. Its time for some normalcy to be brought back.
No one cares what trannies do as long as they do it in the privacy of their own homes.
Stop calling them trannies. FFS.
And basically, again your complaint is that you have to see and hear about this stuff and that bothers you. Not that it actually interferes with your life in anyway. From your POV they are fine as long as they are out of sight and out of mind.
Also, why do there have to be clothes for men and clothes for women. If a boy sees a dress and thinks that looks cool, why shouldn't he be allowed to like it. Are we just supoosed to tell him he's wrong and keep giving him GI JOE figures until he likes the "right" stuff.
Sorry guys, I just don't get how any of this shit is affecting your lives and why it bothers the two of you.

Where did everyone go? For weeks this forum was filled with loyal Clinton supporters celebrating their intelligence and mocking those who thought Drumpf was a viable option. Go back to the 2008 thread and see how all of us who opposed Obama said he was now our president and we'd support him. Why am I not seeing that in 2016?
Barack's campaign platform was not as divisive. I think the lack of enthusiasm and rallying behind Trump stems from that. Racism was not the only part of this vote, but it was a part of some of it and can't be ignored.
As someone who didn't get what he wanted from the Brexit vote, another that whilst it wasn't the only part of the campaign- the winning side did carry a heavy racist element, it takes a while to come to terms with it and get behind the idea of getting the best out of the situation people are in.
Be tolerant and give people time.

I watched the entire debate. First time I've done that this year. It was awful. I wasn't sure if it was some bizarre satire or a real presidential debate.
This was the "good" one

I'm still hoping they come to Reading Festival, for purely selfish reasons (it's the closest to me and I can't abide camping). But given that their last Reading Festival appearance went down like a lead balloon, it's unlikely.
Wonder if Download will get GN'R and Metallica? That'd be quite something.
It's been done

An aside: what a throwback that Metallica logo is. Pig ugly.
