28 day lockdown in my province starting dec 26

Does that make any sense? December 25th is going to be a huge gathering event, and the timing of the lockdown only encourages people to congregate more so then. If it’s a crisis, why wait?  If it can wait, shouldn’t a discussion occur?

I don’t see the CDC or WHO offering guidance. In fact, the WHO discourages lockdowns. It’s politicians that make a spectacle and portray themselves as a savior making the calls, and there’s not any explanation behind their decisions.

It’s become expected to just accept the judgement of governors and mayors with no deliberation. Then they demand the federal government reimburse them and those who lose their livelihoods.

There’s a clear demographic of who is vulnerable to this. And no one wants to do anything to focus protection on them while allowing the world to continue. Bad shit happens. Death isn’t avoidable. People shouldn’t so eagerly sacrifice self determination, especially without weighing all the risks and consequences.

My sister tested positive last night.  I'm sure she'll be fine in a couple of days, like every other person I know who got it and wasn't in a nursing home.  Had a funeral for my buddy's grandma last week.  She had covid.  And dementia and failing organs, and had been in a nursing home waiting to die for the past year.

After Pelosi started impeachment for actions we know Joe Biden actually did?  If people who screamed outrage at accusations against Kavanaugh and Trump for assault and black mail respectively, keep their mouths shut about Cuomo and Biden, they're fucking frauds.

Unless Joe has done something really egregious, it doesn't really matter. At this point, it's a family problem that's none of my business. If Hunter has issues with the IRS, that's his problem. If Joe used the office of the vice presidency to make money for he and/or his son, then let's hear it.

tbh, I think there will be so many problems with this administration Hunter won't even matter. Whether the press does their job is another thing (they won't). Jumping on what Mitch stated above, everything the Biden admin does will be equated with Trump, instead of xyz is doing really shady shit.

I couldn't give two shits what crimes Hunter may or may not have committed.  But there is more evidence that Joe Biden is caught up in Hunter's illegal cash grabs in Russia and China then there ever was of Russian collusion.  We actually have an American with first hand knowledge and text messages showing the link.  Kind of like how we have evidence in January 2017 that the FBI was acting improperly, something we now know was a fact.

I have no interest in a special counsel.  But if I was a loud mouth who not only accepted every Trump conspiracy as fact, but joined the chorus of the uninformed calling his actions treason, I sure wouldn't be comfortable looking at myself in the mirror and demanding others take my opinions super cereal now.

Interested to see where this Hunter investigation leads and if Biden will allow it to continue. Will there be a special council? This kid is a fucking liability.

Everytime we go into lock down our numbers go down and everytime we leave lock down the numbers go up, yet there are still people here who claim lockdowns do nothing lol.

Incredible.

If only what you wrote is true.

My umbrella is only up when it’s raining, and it’s only down when it’s not. Maybe it controls the weather too!

The entire planet needed to go into a hard lockdown the nanosecond China did before it spread across the globe.

We did nothing those first couple months. The moment it went political was a sign that the West is now incapable of handling a crisis of such magnitude.

No. Lockdowns did dick. We were told we were going to “flatten the curve” and we did that. People in Oklahoma didn’t need to lockdown in early February when the virus wasn’t within 1k miles.

This virus is killing those who were already going to die. The idea of the healthy, young person being struck down from this is as rare as the flu.

Chinese lockdowns weren’t allowing their citizens to goto Wal-mart for essentials. The media was condemning Americans for having an outdoor bbq on Memorial Day. Then George Floyd happened and rioting and mass protest became fashionable in the warmer months. The medical professionals condemned the lock down protests, but were on record refusing to condemn the rioting. You can’t tell people to hide indoors and then celebrate bored 20-somethings looting footlocker because a drug addict in declining health thousands of miles away was mistreated by the police.

You can’t have the NFL playing a ducking Wednesday game 6 days late due to COVID breakouts and tell people to hide indoors.

More blacks have been murdered in Pittsburgh in 2020 than people under 70 have died from COVID. Im sure that’s a very similar statistic in other major cities as well. Yet where is the outrage being guided by the media?  Who benefits from a population that honestly believes wearing a piece of cloth they haven’t washed in weeks is protecting them from a virus you need an electron microscope to see?  Meanwhile every political leader has been caught on camera at a hair salon maskless or drinking a glass of wine at a crowded table. Or fucking fauci maskless at a baseball game.

You’ve created a new Karen culture that feels morally superior because they drive with a mask on alone in their car.

Isolate the elderly and you stop Covid. That’s how you solve this. But no one wants to do that because it’s not popular. Tell the sickly and weak to stay inside and avoid the Chinese buffet. That solves  COVID.

We just had a record day of over 1200 new cases in Pittsburgh!  And the ICU bed usage is barely over 10%. 80% of the dead are in nursing homes, where we send people to die. The rest are almost entirely those over 70 with multiple comorbidities.

Lock downs destroy businesses and ruin people’s lives. It’s not something that should be done to thunderous applause and eye fucking from the pundits.

I haven't watched anything political and I've stayed off Twitter save a few cursory looks for the last few weeks. It wasn't intentional or anything, life got busier but... it feels amazing. I can even tell you how less stressful I feel, and I didn't even think I took it that serious.I

I kind of understand how people walk around angry 24/7.

Bingo.  Once you realize none of this shit really has any impact on your life and voices on the opposing side with a platform aren't rational, it's so much easier to just unplug and enjoy what's in front of you.  I just happened to have it on NBC/Lester Holt Monday and saw all I need to to realize mainstream media isn't worth my attention anymore.

When friends call and want to grieve about their perceived political problems/observations, I stop them cold in their tracks.  I just have no interest to fight/argue shit I can't control and most others aren't informed on or objective enough to engage in meaningful dialogue.

The root is totally a credible site, guys!  Antifa has no blame in this. It’s all right wing stooges. No antifa group burned down a fucking church this summer. Proud boys removed BLM signs from 2 churches, which is totally an attack on churches!

Be smart and informed like Mitch!  Read the root or huffington post to get objective information!

So much for Biden being a uniter. This speech is troubling. Why is he coughing, did he finally get the rona?
