Yeah i've been trying to find where I read it. Starting to wonder if i'm just going nuts 17

I'm sure there's an interview someplace with him where he talks about the writing process...and i was quite facinated...he said something like Axl has a guest house with studio toys built into it and at one stage he moved in there for months at a time and that the two of them worked on hundreds of song ideas.

I don't think it ment full songs, more like ideas for a bridge in something one day..random experiments....i dunno. But if there's even a hint of truth to that it makes me wonder what's languishing on an HDD somewhere waiting for the muse to strike them to finish it.

But I might be remembering it wrong. Does anyone else remember what i'm talking about or am i just tripping out?

Yeah, not unloading a video with the first single was a massive mistake. They were basically begging for it to fail.

Yeah i got to say, people have been interested in axl's new GNR at each stage of his reboot, if only to be going "look the madman kicked out everyone and is doing it alone" - but what i'm trying to say is negative publicity like that could have been handled better - like if there was a kickass video showing off the new guys and the shredding and stuff, and axl in his classic rock god kinda look from the 07 tour, i think people would have responded to it. Not saying it would dominate or anything, but I can see some casual fans comming back on board.

Same solo live:

It's too early to call, but I really suspect i'm going to like him more than robin, he seems like just what the doctor ordered.

^ Good Post Faldor.

I think it's probably something like that, I would guess each sees the other as overly difficult and not understanding the other parties job/role in the process, and it got to the point where both of them got paid, and it was easier for everyone to just do their own thing.

Despite that...i would have thought the record company would do more with posters and so forth even just to boost their own numbers internationally...like here where best buy doesn't exist. So it's wierd. I'd also have expected Axl to be a bit more public, not to make money or whatever but just because of his obvious pride in his work. I think there must be tons of people who would have liked some of this music but just outright won't ever stumble into it and that's a shame.

Although I really liked the online chats. I hope things like that happen again in the future. Especially if a tour kicks off.

I can say that in Australia promotion for this album was basicly zero, and was in stark contrast to albums of similar artists that have advance posters in stores etc....

While I don't deny the bands complicity to the problem in failng to do interviews and other traditional promo, there is no doubt in my mind that the corporate end of the game was also mismanaged.

I'm not sure why. My guess would just be that its accidental and a comedy of errors. The record labels and so forth have been in a lot of upheaval for years. Might have just come down to the 'case' being handled by the wrong executive/staff team at the wrong time in the wrong company who didn't pay it enough attention, and when coupled with the other unsual stuff about GNR it just made a mess.

I was just thinking about it actually...and I know Axl's been given loads of crap for redoing band members parts with new band members over and over - but the one logic i could see for that would be to try and make the songs still viable as new material for the band. You know like the master plan seemed to be to release an album, then tour it, and so it made sence in that logic..or would have if it had taken less time...if the album had been promoted normally, and then toured. lol.

I'd love to hear whatelse Axl has in the 'vault'. Didn't pitman say he'd done 200 songs/part songs with Axl? Don't mean to get into the conspiracy 'big gun' theory - but just on the average of Axl's output, in 200 demos there would have to be some golden tracks we havn't heard yet. So maybe one day it'd be nice to hear some of that stuff.

But yeah..likewise I'd love to see the current GNR sort of solidify, it'd be awesome if we kept this new line up for a while, and if they wrote with DJ and generally if things settled down into a more traditional working band mould. But of course things do tend to go there own way.

For now given in the scheme of things we just got CD, i'm going to just wait for a tour smile

I used to really rate Elle too, but nowadays compared to the other models from that era I think she hasn't aged quite as well.

On a separate note, an Aussie girl I went to school with - Kate James ended up in the 1994 SI Swimsuit issue.

Yeah i remember back in her prime Elle was amazing, I'm not sure if it cos I was 14 or just cos she was that damn hot..lol...but i remember being pretty impressed lol

Swimsuit girls at school? Damn...sometimes I hate my folks for sending me to an all-boys school. 17
