Very Cool
Looking forward to checking out the rest of the album dude.
Can i ask. I'm looking at doing some recordings myself again soon....are you doing everything independantly? Did you record this in a pro-studio or on a home based system? Did you have it mastered or mixed from different people? Just interested to know what is possible in certain budgets etc
Sounds cool anyway

Yeah...as much as I'm a fan of Slash and so would welcome Axl and Slash working together.....it was only a few months ago that Axl said either he or slash would die before they reunite. He also called slash a cancer. Those are strong words....it's pretty clear from that there is no reunion happening for the foreseable future at least.....that's not the kind of statement you change your mind on within at least a few years.
I think we'll have a silent phase, then a tour similar to the 06 tour, except with DJ

Yeah..there is a large part of the greek population in melbourne that refer to each other as wogs just as a slang name for their community without it having any negative meanings.
It's like how homosexuals have tended to embrace words like "gay" or "queer" that were once used as insults.
There was an aussie tv show called "Wogs Out of Work" run by an ethnic comedian, lampooning the culture a little.
I think it's worth mentioning too that to an extent there are certain characistics other than race that make something "woggy" to locals...many of these things are stereotypically from that community of course - but certain ways of dressing, certain cars and styles etc is considered part of that look. You can be greek without being a WOG imo.
It's kinda how not every African American man in the usa is going to look like gandsta rap or whatever. But some of them do follow that image.
So i suspect the girl was meaning to describe them as well perhaps, it's like saying "the smaller pimp" or something when describing snoop dog's look.
Still uncool i know...but just explaining how it works a little around here.
Anyway...welcome to australia...fucking hot girls...until they say something

I respectfully disagree. While there are some interesting things in there. Most, if not all, the songs suffer greatly from the lack of lead guitar. You could argue that there could be "less" guitar but NO guitar doesn't work for me.
I agree. You need guitar. I'd have been more interested in changes that can't really be done with rockband...like rearranging the songs to have 2 constant guitar parts rather than 3 cutting in and out, and replacing some of the synth stuff with guitar. Like have paino, 1 drum, 1 rhythm, 1 new lead guitar part that hybrids some of the ideas of the others, 1 bass track and vocals. That would interest me.
Although I like the album as it is, but it would be interesting to hear the songs in that kinda way too.

Ok..i've only skimmed the thead so sorry if this is out of context slightly.
My perspective is this:
Ever since the end of the UYI era it has been normal for this band to have lengthy periods of inactivity (or at least lack of public information about any private activities occuring), frequently change band members, to ignore standard industry practises, shun the media, become involved in legal issues, rarely update fans, and only varey rarely put out new commerical products (either merch, music, tours etc). A person can like or dislike it, but that has been the standard operating procedure for this band.
Yet for some reason now, I'm reading tons of posts of people who are saying it's all over and the band is done and finished. When frankly, there is nothing about the current GNR behaviour that is unusual from GNR.
Axl continued after loosing Slash. He continued after loosing buckhead. He didn't give up after the 2002 tour was abruptly cancelled. He toured some more in 06 even with no album still. He continues in the face of public critism over the name rights and everything else that's happened. he released an album after being mostly absent from the limelight for 15 years. Shuns the media. That album sold reasonably in international markets even if not by historical gnr standards. He shuns the media....but breaks the silence to chat to fans online - expresses more resolve that he wont go back to slash...says he'd like to tour but makes it clear its only a vague idea at that time, a new guitarist is announced for the band...
then a couple of months go past in silence and you all think he's pulled the plug and given up? that's insane. Nothing has changed! Why would he give in now when he didn't give in at 100 better chances to give in?
GNR will contiune doing things it's own way just as it has done since 93 or something...and there is very little to suggest any change on the horizion. And I for one have accepted that years ago, and will gladly go to the shows or whatever else is the next step for GNR when it eventually happens.
