Not really. What would they gain despite laying their country in ruins? NK is an issue that needs to be dealt with, but it's more ruffling with feathers than anything else, and both SK and NK knows it. A war would be devestating to both of them.

i agree but the leaders of the aformentioned nations may not. one nut case with full power is all it takes and it's no longer "who has the biggest and most power wmd's" when the nations who don't, still have enough fire power to blow up half the planet.

Iran, well..they like rethorics. If it goes too far, they will be dealt with accordingly as well

and that's when the essence of unpredictability becomes a potentially horrifying reality.

The only war we will see comes from within. Our Arabs blowing themselves up in the name of religion will continue to be the pain in the ass long after they're done in Afghanistan. It's a war of "way of thinking" and "way of life" within, and not of territory.

war is contagious and it's not the gangsters that are the most unpredictable and dangerous it's the wannabes. countries like n.korea and iran could one day soon cause a ripple effect with one irational move that would lead to something much bigger than suicide bombings.

What about China's rising role on the world stage?  China is gaining power at a very fast rate (especially economically).  The US, and I'm leaning more towards James' idea on this one, simply wants to show China that their economy may be better, their land army may be larger, but when it comes down to it our military is so technologically advanced that they wouldn't stand a chance against us.

It's certainly not a Chinese aircraft.  It's either a US aircraft or a Russian one.  My money is on the US.

all very valid points i'm afraid

Agreed.  And along the lines of what I was saying in the other thread.  If people, including you Buzz, didn't like the songs the way they were it's doubtful they're going to like any remix versions.  If you thought Chinese Democracy was an album for the fans, you ain't seen nothing yet.  Again, IF the album were to ever come out, which I have my doubts.

it's not that they won't like it  - it's that they won't hear it. a remix of an original cd, half way or all the way past it's tour and promo, is not gonna get any attention from ayone other than us no matter how good it is. unless they have a huge single to add to it. that could change everything fi they act soon enough.

It won't be what it once was imho.

I don't think Beavis & Butt-head really appeal to this generation.

primarily because kids don't get their fix watching music videos on mtv any more which is the majority of what beaver and buffcode were about. if appeal of the show is more important than promoting video watching, i say slap some ipods on them here and there and put them in front of a computer instead of a tv. they could watch youtube even. or have them watching reality tv instead of videos.
