The Giants defense was very good. The offense was pretty good. They would have blown Washington's doors off if not for a few miscommunications between Eli and the recievers. But for the most part they looked good. Eli was in command, Plax was tearing up Washington's secondary, and Jacobs was a beast. Buts its Week 1. Teams are going to be rusty at the begining of the season. They'll shake off the rust.

BREAKING: Sarah Palin "Winged" Her Speech Because of "Broken" Teleprompter

Halfway through Sarah Palin's speech tonight at the RNC, people following the speech noticed she was deviating from the prepared text.

According to sources close to the McCain campaign, the teleprompter continued scrolling during applause breaks. As a result, half way through the speech, the speech had scrolled significantly from where Governor Palin was in the speech. The malfunction also occurred during Rudy Giuliani's speech, explaining his significant deviations from his speech.

Unfazed, Governor Palin continued, from memory, to deliver her speech without the teleprompter cued to the appropriate point in her speech.

Contrast this to Barack Obama who, when last his teleprompter malfunctioned, was left stuttering before a crowd unable to advance his speech until the problem was resolved.

Sarah Palin. Winner.

I mean this in the most respectful way possible, so dont take any offense to this, but I couldn't care less what Europe, the Middle East, or anywhere else thinks about us. I'm not voting on who will make the world like us more. I am voting on who will best lead our country, keep the US safe, and represents conservative values.

But man, did Palin hit it out of the park last night. Great speech, and yes, she does have the liberals shaking. It is still a long way till the election, but this race is much closer now with Palin.

Did the Giants ever pick up Jerome McDougle??

If so it was a wise move since Umenuyra (i bothed that didn't I?) went down. He was a lazy bastard here but is the type to do well somewhere else & come back to haunt us. He had a good preseason, only he also had 5 horrible seasons here as well.

Yep, the Giants signed McDougle Sunday. It is really a low risk-high reward type thing. He'll fit in well in the Giants Four Aces package. Some people said that losing Strahan and Umenyiora would cripple the Giants D, but it wont with Tuck and Kiwanuka as starters. Where it was really going to effect the Giants was in the special Four Aces package (where they lined up four quality DEs on the line and just let them wreak havoc), and depth. If one of Tuck or Kiwanuka goes down, then the Giants will be effected. But this is what made the McDougle signing so important. They can insert him in the passing downs and also spell Tuck or Kiwanuka, and if they get hurt.

On a side note, the Giants looked to draft McDougle back in 03, but the Eagles jumped in front of the Giants and got him. Funny how things work out.

Yeah I think the Giants will be fine even without Strahan and Umenyora, until they have an injury on the D-line.  Then their depth will be tested.  Not saying it's gonna happen, but chances are it will.

Yeah, their depth could be an issue on the D-line. One more injury could hurt things.

I see no reason, none, why they cant. They are a very deep team at all positions, even the one the "experts" think they arent at (DE). I know that repeating is tough to do, but I see them as having as good of a shot as anyone in the NFC. Remember they beat the division champions for the NFC South, East, and North in the playoffs. Then they beat supposedly the greatest team ever. That is no fluke.

I am for real. I can not understand why some people are so down on the Giants. I really cant. Of course, I said the same thing last year and everyone thought I was crazy. How'd that turn out? wink

Yeah, funny. 2 sacks in 5 years, a season ending gunshot wound, and a 30 yard penality that about ended the seasons chances for the playoffs (15 yard facemask on 3rd down & then 15 yards for kicking the flag, putting the other team from 4th & long to field goal position).

Real funny.. 16 16 hmm

Maybe a change of scenery will help the guy.

Can you imagine Coughlin's reaction if he pulled something like that? His head would explode!:haha:
