The Midnight Meat Train
This was a dark one (imagine that from Clive Barker!) and quite a bit different from the short story based on my memory. However it was a good horror movie. Not on the top tier list but a good "catch it sometime" horror movie.
misterID "Let The Right One In" sounds good, I'll have to pick that up and give it a try.

Jackson's music is definitely timeless. Listen to Billie Jean (for instance)
compared to MOST songs that came out during the time, it holds up. But hey...800,000,000 record sales is probably just a fluke, there was no essence to the music he made!
I will be fair however, U2 is also one of those groups that do stand the test of time. Elvis does too if you get rid of the cheesey stuff. Songs like "If I Can Dream" are so powerful they transcend. The same can be said for GNR with songs like Estranged and even Sweet Child, It's So Easy and My Michelle. Don't get me wrong you can "peg" all these songs from the era they come from but they don't come off as "man what was I thinking back then" the way crap by some flash in the pan would. Poison anyone? lol

Michael Jackson Poised To Make Billboard Chart History, Again
June 27, 2009 11:50 AM ET
Keith Caulfield, L.A.
Next week, Michael Jackson will once again make music history as many of his albums are poised to shake up the Billboard charts with incredible sales increases.
The impact of Jackson's passing was felt immediately in the marketplace. Industry sources report that the demand for Jackson's albums were so high, many brick and mortar retailers simply ran out of whatever Jackson stock they had on hand on Thursday (25) night.
Michael Jackson 1958-2009
The albums with the greatest sales increases -- at least on the physical side of things -- look to be his greatest hits packages "Number Ones" and "The Essential Michael Jackson" along with the expanded reissue of "Thriller." The sets, released between 2003 and 2008, were the three Jackson albums that perhaps had the most stock available in stores.
In the digital realm, where the supply problem doesn't exist, Jackson's songs and albums swarmed the top of the constantly-updating best sellers lists in both the iTunes' and Amazon's online music stores. At one point on Friday in the iTunes Store, nine out of the top 10-selling albums and 40 of the top 100-selling songs were by Jackson.
The three aforementioned albums, along with Jackson's classic studio sets "Off the Wall," "Bad" and "Dangerous" all will likely zoom into the upper region of Billboard's Top Pop Catalog Albums chart next week. Initial reports of Jackson's album sales from Thursday alone indicate that one of his albums -- possibly "Number Ones" -- will easily fly to No. 1 on the chart next week. Last week, the set -- which also was his top-selling album of the week -- was at No. 20 on the Catalog chart with 4,000 sold.
To compare, last week's No. 1 on the Catalog chart was TobyMac's "Portable Sounds" with 9,000 copies sold. Sources say that at least one of Jackson's albums sold more than double that amount just on Thursday.

Whether it be with the Jackson 5 or solo, what is your favorite Michael Jackson songs? To make it hard try and cut it down to 15 or less! This guy didn't put out a ton of albums but it was TOUGH for me to make the list fit under my own "rule" of only 15 songs.
Here's my personal favorites:
I Want You Back - Jackson 5
I'll Be There - Jackson 5
Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough
She's Out of My Life
Human Nature
Wanna Be Startin' Something
Billie Jean
Beat It
Thriller
Dirty Diana
The Way You Make Me Feel
Man In The Mirror
Black or White
Gone Too Soon
Remember the Time

Thriller, although I have to say Off The Wall would be a VERY close runner up followed by Bad.

I believe his death will be eerily similar to the death of Elvis based on some of the things I'm hearing this morning. Prescription drug abuse will end up being the key cause of his death I believe. No doubt the stress of his lifestyle added to this. The guy sold 800,000,000 records worldwide but died 200,000,000 in debt. Wealth is relative. If you spend more than you earn it is stressful whether you make 30k or 30million. Then he has an all or nothing shot at this concert to help him dig out. Not only financially but career wise possibly as well. Had he nailed this concert his relevance could have gained much momentum. A solid album afterwards could have been his return. Needless to say he had alot riding on this.
One happy thing. He sold out FIFTY tour dates in FOUR HOURS!!! FOUR-FREAKIN'-HOURS!! Noone on earth could do that right now, noone. Regardless of all his problems he left us showing one last time that his music was still relevant.

Man this is terrible news, and just a month before his comeback
Yeah, I'd like to have seen him nail those shows and comeback with some great music just one more time.

I voted for it, and only it. So it bumps up in odds.
That's what I should have did! I get the bonehead award today.

True giants of music. I think the only ones left are McCartney and perhaps Mick Jagger. We'll never see someone else Like Michael or Elvis.
I'd say McCartney is the only one left but even he isn't the juggernaut that Elvis and Michael were. We'll never see the likes of them again.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of pill-usage involved...but it's not the time to speculate.
According to someone VERY close to Jackson this appears to be the case. It will be interesting to see if this comes out. It is rumoured it was prescription drugs, the similarities with Elvis continue.
