Where’s Izzy?
With all the fan theories and speculation, I'm sure some people hear him on these tracks.

For anyone who's keeping score.... about 20 or so listens in on the general. I dig it as an avante garde ode to Dio and Axl's heavy metal influences. Decent track. Definitely a grower type track. I wouldn't put it on my work out playlist.
I'm at least 50 listens on Monsters. To fit in with the pattern of lunacy, I've come full circle in my quite sound system of carbon dating. That's definitely Slash. If it's not Slash, then Robin or Richard have acheived black belt in imitating Slash's tone and signatures. This should have been the reunion lead single followed by something safe, like Hard Skool(minus the school bell).
Even after getting these satisfying tracks.....My appetite for the Beaven and RTB takes intensifies. As much as Monsters turns me on, I still want to here that staccato like take Bucket does on the cell phone clip. The Village sessions are the true holy grail of the Chinese saga. I'd love to have the other half. Dragon with vox and Quiksong would top the list. But if we thought the general was in that cell clip and we're debating Soul Monster and Me and My Elvis, maybe I've already heard them.

Alright Nikoslash, get your ass to work, I'm ready for Slash's Monsters lead tab.

Any ideas on how the leak surfaced? Is what we are hearing likely to be the final version?
I think it's safe to assume the vocal takes are definitely final. However nobody can carbon date these because we're all hearing different guitarists etc. I'm sure somebody will want their 15 and the origins of the leak will unfold.

The more I listen to these, the older I think they are. I was certain that was Slash on monster but, now I'm starting to think thise might be some older demos. I'm certainly intrigued.

I've listened to the instrumentals several times and it definitely sounds like two different lineups. Then again I don't really know anything.

I listened to the general a few times via the songs combined and Its kind of confusing.
The general part of the song does not sound like slash at all
it sounds more like the 99 band, even the quality is way worse than the monsters partany chance the leaker is messing with us and gave us the first half from the 99 band and the second half from the current line up
The whole thing is just weird bc of how bad the quality of the first half of the song is on the vocals
Maybe the guitar I am hearing on the first part is Fortus, if it is slash its def slashs best work on the new stuff for sure
I'm in this camp as well. The General sounds much rougher in comparison to monster. Fink and Bucket parts sound intact to my ears. Monsters sounds straight up slash and duff. The vocals on the general sound earlier than monster as well. A lot to unpack and decipher here.

Some1 on SoundCloud uploaded vocal tracks of both songs. Unofficial Acapella. But still nice to here. U can probably make out lyrics better on those
The instrumental version of the general is far more tolerable.

Sorry to beat a dead horse, god knows there's so much new music to talk about, but that Razz clip was mid 2006?
I think it was April-May 2006. Not very long after the CITR leak.
Hard to believe it's going on 18 years since those leaks. That's frightening.
So much wasted time now that we've heard the Village sessions and know what was basically finished by 2001. Those leaks and the mercurial nature of the hardcores are the only reason the album didn't sell 28k it's first week. Despite the band's talking points memo, the leaks kept what little interest was there burning for all that wasted time.
