my top two moments..
1. When axl finally resurfaced at the korn after party in 2006... he gave a rolling stone
Journalist info there on the Chinese album...
we knew shit was gonna go down..all forums were lit,
pages reached more than 200 I think..
2. When axl rose did the interview with Eddie trunks
In 2006... I think it was before they did the Hammerstein shows ..
We were wondering if Buckethead was gonna return, we didn't know who
Was gonna be on lead guitar..
Good times....
(I didn't mentions leaks, cuz those discussions weren't as fun)

Finding Newgnr.com in 2006. Sladdi had video clips hosted there of live stuff from that era that I think blew my mind. I already knew Riad and Silkworms from lurking years before at various sites. GNRsucks may have been one, anyway finding Newgnr is what sent me down the rabbit hole proper.
Finding out about the IRS Eddie Trunk thing and hearing that tape rip later felt like a big deal. So did all of the earliest leaks. Getting the full version of Better and not just trade clips felt like a big deal too, probably got more exited for that than I was for the locker leaks tbf.

1. As listed above the start of the 2006 shows - Axl does Trunk - where I think he came across extremely likeable and relatable for a guy who tends to get bad press. The band was booked into the Hamerstein Ballroom shows and there was a lot of excitement around the 2006 comeback - and then they delivered well on the tour too - awesome rasp on the shows - randomly doing fun CD songs like ITS and TWAT and general all around excitement and positivity that year.
2. The Axl chats - Axl dropping into all the major forums to take questions on CD was very exciting. It's always interesting to get his perspective on the music.

The top forum moment was, objectively, the time Axl himself came on one of the forums and the first thing he did was call one of his own fans a cunt.

The Hammerstein show and Axl chats. Looked up HTGTH pages going back to 2005, now that was a mind trip. And looking at all the regulars who eventually got banned. And buds who disappeared, others who went nuts when they opened their own forums. Crazy times
